Russian Sub Put Together Like Humpty Dumpty

Over 20 people have been killed after a firefighting system went off during sea trials on board the Nerpa, a nuclear submarine in Russia’s Pacific Fleet. The sub was on a test run in the Sea of Japan with 208 people aboard 81 of whom were servicemen. Submariners and ship builders were killed, the AP reports.

It appears that Russia was leasing Akula II class boats to India recently and I believe it might be this one http://en.rian.ru/russia/20081027/117976941.html provided by the Russian News Agency, RAI Novosti. 

“The construction of the Akula II class Nerpa nuclear attack submarine started in 1991 but has been suspended for over a decade due to lack of funding. Akula II class vessels are considered the quietest and deadliest of Russian nuclear-powered attack submarines. The submarine, built under a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry, has been moved from the shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur to a maintenance facility in the Primorye Territory and fitted with all necessary equipment. At present it is undergoing sea trials,” a spokesman for the shipyard told RIA Novosti. Indian media have reported on various occasions that the construction of the submarine was partially financed by the Indian government. India has reportedly paid $650 million for a 10-year lease of the 12,000-ton submarine.  Nerpa is expected to join the Indian navy under the designation INS Chakra in the second half of 2009.”

In 2003, eleven people died on a Russian sub being taken out of service sank in the Barents Sea. Even with this new failure, Russia has seen success. From SEVEROMORSK, October 11 (RIA Novosti) – A Russian submarine has for the first time test launched the Sineva ballistic missile to its maximum range from the Barents Sea to an equatorial part of the Pacific Ocean.  The exercise drills involved more than 5,000 military personnel, eight surface ships and five submarines.  “The RSM-54 Sineva (NATO designation SS-N-23 Skiff) is a third-generation liquid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile that entered service with the Russian Navy in July 2007. It has a maximum range of 8,300 km (5,200 miles) and can carry four or 10 nuclear warheads. http://en.rian.ru/russia/20081011/117682147.html

This serious naval accident and other SNAFUs like this, only remind us how unstable nuclear warhead missiles are in the hands of the Russians.  Had the explosion resulted in the launch of a nuclear torpedo, millions of people could be dead, accidentally.   This “mishap” comes as Russia is trying to restore it’s reputation and demonstrate it’s over all military prowess while Americans have elected a President Obama who projects a decrease in military spending.  https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2008/10/22/obama-demilitarizes-while-russia-modernizes-missiles/

Russia has been holding joint naval exercises with close U.S. neighbor Venezuela, snubbing America’s Monroe Doctrine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monroe_Doctrine  that was used symbolically when the Soviet Union began building missile launch sites in Cuba.

“Russia displayed its military strength in the Mediterranean yesterday after warships heading to Venezuela passed through the Strait of Gibraltar in the second deployment of Russian naval vessels in the waterway since the Cold War. The nuclear-powered missile cruiser Peter the Great, accompanied by the Admiral Chabanenko, an anti-submarine destroyer, as well as a reconnaissance vessel and a support ship, are destined for a maritime exercise with the Venezuelan navy.” Russia has also moved to intensify contacts with Venezuela, Cuba and other Latin American countries and has signed weapons contracts worth more than $4 billion with Venezuela since 2005 to supply fighter jets, helicopters and 100,000 Kalashnikov AK47 assault rifles. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article4887728.ece

No one will accuse President Obama of overbearing American supremacy while he reduces America’s might and increases his proposed “civilian national security force.”  Obama pledged: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”  Obama’s selection of Emanuel, in his book, The Plan: Big Ideas for America, sketches out the same idea on how to “fight against the spread of evil and totalitarianism.” … by expanding the U.S. army by 100,000 more troops,” Emanuel suggests “we must protect our homeland and civil liberties by creating a new domestic counter terrorism force like Britain’s MI5.”

Charles Rangel’s National Service Act,   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_National_Service_Act which is languishing before Congress, provides for a universal draft with two years of service for virtually all persons aged 18-42, with no deferment for college. The purpose of Rangel’s bill is seems to reflect Obama’s desires:

“To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security . . . .”

Civilian service described in the bill (sec 102(b)):

a civilian capacity that, as determined by the President, promotes the national defense, including national or community service and service related to homeland security.

Never mind that missiles fired from enemy submarines will harm the environment more than the sonar used to detect them. The Chinese are adding 2.5 new subs each year to their fleet, and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the Chinese may have more subs than we do within a decade.

In the National 3:00 am call that we heard about from Hillary Clinton and others during the pre-election banter, comes this portrayal from the Department of Defense:

“This is the National Military Command Center.  We have detected the launches of two ballistic missiles out of Iran with projected impact in New York in less than 25 minutes.  Iranian President says he did not order this, it was done by a small radical group which explains our very limited indications and warning.  Iranian strategic and regional missile forces have now been ordered to full alert in anticipation of U.S. retaliation.  We have notified state and local authorities and are notifying allied governments.

Obama’s Security Brief a Conflict & Revolution Document

Obama has about two months to get up to speed for his “on the job training” to comprehend the full range of capabilities deployed by the United States. Barring any unforeseen challenges to his citizenship from Berg vs Obama or Martin vs the State of Hawaii, he will take office on January 20 and faces enormous security challenges here and abroad.  Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell gave the President-elect the first national security briefings, which details not only threat perceptions but responses, including special operations that are currently under way in different parts of the world- conflicts and resolutions.

America has one US President at a time and Obama might need to bite his tongue when it comes to Iran, or his policies as expressed, may develop into unmitigated disaster.  The ideology of characters like Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and Frank Davis, and yesterday’s selection of Rahm Emanuel to Chief of Staff, combined make the hairs on my back stand up.  Illinois Democrat Emanuel served under Clinton and as Paul Joseph Watson notes this morning on his pick, “it is disturbing in light of the fact he is a staunch supporter of reactionary forces in Israel and his father was an Irgun terrorist.”  http://www.infowars.com/?p=5781&cp=6  Exit polls conducted nationwide show that about 78 percent of the Jewish vote was for Obama and I wonder if they are reassured that Obama’s values are similar to theirs?  I also wonder if anyone will note that Emanuel was appointed to the board of Freddie Mac?  http://hotair.com/archives/2008/11/07/emanuel-tied-to-freddie-mac-collapse/

Iran’s naval chief Adm. Habibollah Sayyari told state radio Tuesday, Oct,.28, that their new base could be used to block the entry of any “enemy” into the Persian Gulf. Iran has warned it would close the narrow Strait of Hormuz, through which 40 percent of the world’s oil passes, if the US attacked its nuclear installations. Sources note the additional advantages of its location for Tehran are quick access to the Red Sea, Indian Ocean and Horn of Africa and support for three objectives:

1. A naval presence opposite the Gulfs of Oman and Aden, where Israeli maintains Dolphin submarines. For Tehran their presence is part of Israel’s belligerent posture opposite Iran.

2. Intensified military involvement in Sudan on the Red Sea.

Obama must realize that negotiating with Iran will not stop its nuclear weapons program. He said he will speak with rogue state leaders like Ahmadinejad “without preconditions,” implying this is a new idea. Buried on the back pages of the news, The Israel Insider is reporting a seismic event in southern Iran, may in fact have been a massive underground nuclear bomb test.  The USGS measured a tremor 5.0 on the Richter scale on October 25, just north of Hormuz and opposite Abu Hhabi.  A 4.8 Richter scale event happened on October 21 just 3 miles of the event on the 25th. Foreign sources have long speculated that Iran already is possession of ready nuclear bombs and are being funded by China and North Korea.  Who do you think Iran would like to bomb first?  Israel, maybe or the US?

I trust that Obama’s security briefing didn’t leave out the fact that North Korea threatened to turn South Korea into debris unless Seoul stops what it described as a policy of confrontation.  “The puppet authorities had better bear in mind that the advanced preemptive strike of our own style will reduce everything … to debris, not just setting them on fire,” the North’s military said in a statement.  “It will turn out to be a just war… to build an independent reunified state on it, http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24565063-2703,00.html.

Rand Corporation http://www.rand.org/pubs/testimonies/2008/RAND_CT304.pdf  gave testimony presented before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on April 15, 2008 the impact of a nuclear target hit in Long Beach, California.  “The area of radiation contamination (approximately 500 square km) that will require long-term relocation of people and businesses is home to an estimated two million people. These people must be moved within a few days and will not be able to take most of their possessions because of the threat of contamination. Prevention efforts would benefit the country not only in the extreme case of nuclear terrorism, but would also be broadly applicable to the preparation for and response to other catastrophes such as major earthquakes and floods that could require mass evacuations for months or even years of contaminate regions.

The short, 12 page document in so little words goes over what would be needed in a nuclear event or disaster hitting a city and basically says what most Americans know, we’d be screwed.  Maybe the Rex 84 Program http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rex_84 is making a comeback in 2008 under a new name, The Conflict and Revolution Document or C & R Document in preparation for a U.S. financial or nuclear demise.  The Madison Report claimed the C&R Document exists and it is circulating among Congress warning of a bleak future for America. http://www.knowthelies.com/?q=node/1307  Just maybe, C & R is what the President receives daily.

Let’s hope, That One has those big ears open and his mouth shut while he under goes the same daily briefings as The President. If the message of a C & R Document isn’t in print and doesn’t really exist, we can all see the writing on the wall anyways.

Obama Wins While Russian Missiles Take Aim

What struck me in the news coverage of The Election, were the tears of joy streaming from Jessie Jackson’s eyes.  In the words of many black voters, the dream has been at least partially realized.

While America celebrated, Russia was busy.  President Dmitry Medvedev sent congratulations via a telegram http://en.rian.ru/world/20081105/118142101.html .  While addressing the Federal Assemble Medvedev said, “We have no problems with the American nation, we have no inbred anti-Americanism. We hope our partners, the new United States administration, will make a choice in favor of full-fledged relations with Russia,”  Simultaneously he issued a direct threat with an announcement that he would deploy Iskander missiles to Russia’s Kaliningrad region, as a military response to U.S. plans to deploy missile-defense facilities in Poland and the Czech Republic, former Soviet satellites that are now NATO members.  He did not say if they would have nuclear warheads.  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122588962209001415.html and updated at http://www.air-attack.com/news/news_article/3422.

Obama has promised to cut US defense spending and demilitarize while Russia is modernizing it’s fleet of missiles.  https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2008/10/22/obama-demilitarizes-while-russia-modernizes-missiles/  Only last Friday, A ground-based missile successfully intercepted a target missile in a test of the nation’s defense system. http://www.mda.mil/mdalink/html/mdalink.html An intercontinental ballistic missile interceptor blasted out of an underground silo at Vandenberg Air Force Base shortly after 1:15 p.m., and tracked a target missile that had lifted off from the Kodiak Launch Complex in Alaska. Russia is not alone in the quest for missile leadership. http://missilethreat.com/missilesoftheworld/ Accuracy of missiles like the Al Hussein, Project 1728, Al Hijara a Road Mobile SRBM- is such that it can only be effectively used against extremely large targets, as it can land as far as two miles away from the intended target. As such, it is useful to strike population centers, large military staging areas and oil fields, but little else.

In Iran, with whom Obama has pledged to sit down with no preconditions, the The Shahab-3 is a medium-range, liquid-propellant, road-mobile ballistic missile.  Nuclear, HE, chemical, or sub munitions, it is ready and operational in Iran.   Its range is sufficient to target Israel, Turkey, the Indian subcontinent, and US forces stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf. The missile’s low accuracy means the missile would probably only be usable to attack civilian populations and has no military application other than simply holding enemy populations hostage.

Another is the Airborne Laser, which will be able to strike lofting missiles above the clouds at the speed of light using a laser from hundreds of miles away. In the Congo, http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/congo Rebels led by the renegade Tutsi general Laurent Nkunda clashed with pro-government Mai Mai militia today, threatening a fragile ceasefire around the provincial capital, Goma. What could be worse than Proposition 4, 8, 10,12 or 14?  What is worse than the financial bailouts?  What is worse than reform or taxes?  What could be worse than war?  A nuclear war and  nuclear disaster. 

President George Washington has summed it up, “The foundations of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality, and the preeminence of free government be exemplified by all the attributes which can win the affections of its citizens, and command the respect of the world.”

Joe Biden and Joe The Plumber can agree on one thing.  President Obama will be, and is being tested even before his inauguration.

Election Day Predictions Returns Problems

The campaign for President is winding down but the media’s news campaign for the results of the election are running full steam ahead.

Americans are tuning in to Main Stream Media and the Internet like never before to follow election results and see where our country is headed in the next four years.  It is incredible really, the amount of information that one has access to in America, and that the access and reporting is in real time.  It becomes unimaginable that there are places in the world like Russia and China where the government censures the media at it’s convenience.  Freedom of speech and of the press are often taken for granted in America.  Whatever the outcome, our Election Day coverage in the media displays to the entire world that democracy works.  There is no amount of advertising dollars that could ever be spent that indicates just how powerful freedom is.

It will be interesting to note not only the variances in the graphic designs but the uncertainty of predictions.  In 2004, polling numbers, predictions and maps were cast aside as our Judaical system ruled in the end that George Bush won.  Statistics and graphs can misrepresent the truth and be manipulated into reflecting opinion, rather than fact.  Will Fox News, that typically leans toward Republican candidates, show graphs that reflect a bias toward McCain?  Will CNN, that is stereotypically pro Democrat, yield information that indicates Obama the winner?  Time will tell in the final outcome which media outlet is the most reliable, fair and balanced in reporting the results and activities of Election 2008.  My prediction and hope is that voters put country first and that in the end all the maps- no matter the source, confirm John S. McCain as the next President of The United States of America.

    WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today launched a new Web video, titled “Stooges.”  The video highlights the antics we can expect in Washington from the unbalanced liberal trifecta of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and, if elected, Barack Obama.  The Democrats’ unbalanced government would lead to higher taxes and spreading the wealth around, and there’s nothing funny about that.

    Black, White, Yellow, or any other shade of peoples, Americans must believe in Red, White and Blue on Election Day.  The world looks to America for leadership and stability and when we deviate in our path of Democracy and fair elections, we subject ourselves to further erosion of our power to the world.  America and it’s allies helped allow for the first voting in 50 years in Iraq with the means of dipping a finger into purple ink, it is not so easy to identify a voter in America, nor should it be.  There is a whole variety of problems that we can anticipate.  In early voting, usually in favor of Democratic Candidates, we have already seen challenges at the polls.  On Election Day, indeed we may have voting machine manipulation and malfunction, polling places that run out of paper, long lines, and a potential that precincts could be overwhelmed by an outpouring of voters.  Just imagine in Chicago, if the turnout is so massive with 8 hour waits and not every voter gets to vote, what kind of voter unrest could occur?
     
    Only last year, with the results from Kenya’s closely contested elections still up in the air and evidence growing of election mischief, riots and ethnic clashes erupted across the country. Kenya is east Africa’s most stable and prosperous democracy but rioting killed hundreds after the election. Raila Odinga, who was leading in the polls prior to the election was the candidate Obama had been campaigning for but he lost his election to Mwai Kibaki. All the more reason that Obama’s lack of interference in his Aunt Zeituni’s plea for US Asylum seems suspect.
     
    When Main Stream Media, CBS News, brings out a blog post just two days before the election that is titled “Police Prepare For Possible Election Night Riots,” and the lead in question asks, ” Will election night bring civil Unrest?”  maybe we had better pay attention.  http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/22/politics/horserace/entry4539330.shtml 

    In Chicago, Obama is holding a rally downtown after the polls close on Tuesday night and Mayor Daley believes that up to a million people could flood the city’s streets.     This historic presidential contest will feature either America’s first black President or first female Vice President.     We’ve seen “emergency-preparedness” steps taken in Denver before the DNC and at every campaign rally Obama and McCain have attended and nothing major has happened.  We’ve  prepared for Y2K and nothing happened.  In case all hell breaks loose, we will be duly prepared in major cities and do not forget that the Army’s Brigade Homeland Tour of U.S. Combat troops have been repatriated from Iraq to help with any civil unrest.

Most tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) addressed in this manual were developed from experiences gained during domestic riots in the 1960s.     President Roosevelt once said, “In politics there are no accidents.  If it happens you can bet it was planned that way.” I hardly think people will take to the streets, nor will the service of the Army, The National Guard, or riot troops be necessary.  We are a patient people and have endured two years of campaigning with no unrest.  Election Day occurs on a school and work night with honest to God people who have to get up and go to work, and many of McCain supporters will be sleeping well before the results are in.   No matter who wins, I believe in widespread respect for the law and while I encourage you to vote McCain, my prediction is that nothing will happen.  That’s my theory anyways.

    Obama’s Birth Certificate Battles With Andy Martin

    Andy Martin appears to be getting closer to the truth about Obama’s citizenship.  “(HONOLULU)(November 1, 2008) Internet powerhouse Andy Martin has ignited a firestorm in Hawai’i over Barack Obama’s bogus “original” birth certificate. Martin won a stunning victory Friday afternoon (October 31st) when the State of Hawai’i backed his assertion that there was an original, “typewritten, 1961” birth certificate, called a “Certificate of Live Birth” or “COLB” in Hawai’i, that no one has previously seen. Hawai’i officials retrieved and examined the document after Martin filed a lawsuit seeking access to the historic 1961 original.  Obama has falsely claimed to have placed the “original” on the Internet. Factcheck.org has falsely claimed to have seen this document and posted it on the Internet; that is not true.     Obama’s Aunt and Anti-Rumor Plans

    Less than 72 hours to go, and McCain’s campaign is pushing an “anti-Obama” message and a Pro-McCain message second. Rumors continue to circle like sharks smelling blood around Obama, his family and his associates.  As usual the MSM- Main Stream Media has pretty much ignored Obama shortcomings and instead focused on polls surmising an Obama Victory.  McCain managed a one point lead over Obama last week but then Zogby decided to average out the polling for three days in a row, and ta-da, Obama is back in the Main Stream News leading by a huge margin .  “Remember, as I said yesterday, one day does not make a trend. This is a three-day rolling average and no changes have been tectonic.”  said pollster, John Zogby http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1627 

    Obama’s anti-rumor plan, it seems has worked. Rather than continuing to answer questions directly about lingering questions like: his citizenship, former relationships with terrorists like William Ayers, his ministry with Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the missing L.A. Times tape, or most recently his Aunt who is not only an illegal alien but illegally donated to his campaign, Obama instead has relied on his website fightthesmears.com to alleviate any lingering questions. http://www.fightthesmears.com/  Apparently the Obama campaign is too busy to provide a statement at this time regarding his Aunt, the L.A. Times Tape, or any of the pending litigation against him like Berg vs Obama on his site.   

    Obama was quoted in a mid-June Times article saying, “”We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails, and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,” Obama said, bristling. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.”  America has asked repeatedly for clarifications, yet Obama fails to answer directly. 

    In the matter of Obama’s aunt, Obama couldn’t even manage to make a comment himself instead relying on spokesman Ben LaBolt, saying that the campaign was returning $265 dollars donated by the aunt to her nephew’s campaign.

    McCain too has had his fair share of citizenship eligibility questions lobbed at him.  In April of this year, a number of Obama’s congressional supporters – including Gov. Claire McCaskill (D-MOi), Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), and Sen. Kraft, an attorney and writer: “The president, The Supreme Court justices, and all members of Congress, have taken an oath to defend and protect the Constitution and have an affirmative duty to protect the Constitution by doing whatever is necessary to insure that presidential (and congressional) candidates meet the Constitutional requirements for the offices they seek. It is a mandatory duty, and failure to do so violate their oaths of office. If they don’t follow this oath in Obama’s case, it will be the biggest swindle in American history, allowing Obama and the DNC to have concealed his true identity and lack of citizenship, thereby conning Democrats out of hundreds of millions of dollars of campaign contributions.     Obama Ahead in Early Voting

    No wonder Obama put forth so much effort into early voting when he, himself knew that there would be issues surrounding his character and the entire voting process that might make him less appealing in the last minute before entering into the voting booth.

    With just three days left until Election Day, a new CBS News poll finds that the Democratic presidential ticket of Obama and Biden leads its Republican counterpart by 13 points among likely voters, 54 percent to 41 percent.  Yet Zogby according to (CNN) — Sen. John McCain has inched ahead of Sen. Barack Obama in national polls, but the Democratic candidate holds a steady lead in the most recent Electoral College estimates. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/09/presidential.polls/

    Oh, just shut up already.  I personally would put my family before anything in my life- I am a religious person, a Catholic in fact, and I while I believe in God, family for me comes first.  I see no evidence that Obama’s family comes first with relatives of every mix, nationality and religion scattered through out the world living in poverty.

    Obama has down right, dirty deeded and unscrupioulsy attempted to influence early voters on the premise of reform.  What needs to be reformed is the whole idea of early voting.   Election day in America is November 4th, not one day before or one day after.  We have bent and yeilded the laws to make voting a convenience and it is a slap in the face of the American Voter to think that with out a rational excuse, you can vote early because you might have to stand in line for an hour or so on election day.  We have soldiers standing for us on foreign soil complaining they don’t have working guns and some shmuck will compain about the weather on election day.  Go figure.

    Curtis Gans, director of the Committee for the Study of the American Electorate at American University, says the trend may show the impact of Obama’s get-out-the-vote effort. “It might indicate an advantage, at least out of the early voting figures, for the Democratic Party,” he says.     Is it fair to say that early voters might be registered democratics who stand the most to benefit from that One, O’bama’s spread the wealth programs?  Yep. Many early Democratic voters can go at thier leisure unlike the rest of many Republicans who actually have jobs and are accountable to a time clock and would not necessarily sacrifice personal paid time off the job to go and vote. 

    With less than 72 hours I don’t care if you have to crawl uphill both ways to vote on Election Day.  Vote and Vote McCain.
