What’s twisting our
antenna today,
November 27, 2011.
Enough. Occupy Wall Street people don’t seem to want to wind down their protests. Police have been forcibly removing them from NYC to LA. http://slatest.slate.com/posts/2011/11/27/occupy_la_eviction_nears_protesters_vow_to_stay.html Most protests have a clear goal, but this is all over the place.
Nearest spokesperson – Russell Simmons who’s latest rap is, ‘It Is My Moral Duty To Do This,” in supporting the OWS movement. Do you see a music concert in the future produced by him?
Russell Simmons wants the business world to understand that the Occupy Wall Street protest and its related movements are not anti-capitalist. http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/genre/randb-hip-hop/russell-simmons-talks-occupy-wall-street-1005527552.story

It wouldn’t be America it seems, unless there was a lawsuit being filed. The LA version of OWS is an injunction–
…argues that Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck violated the protesters’ civil rights by ordering the protesters to leave and accuses them of engaging “in “arbitrary and capricious action in violation of the 1st and 14th Amendments by first approving the Occupy presence for 56 days before suddenly revoking permission through the unilateral action of defendants.”
A few weeks ago a class action lawsuit was filed against New York City on behalf of the group of people arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge on October 1, 2011. It alleges that officers violated their constitutional rights by luring them into a trap and then arresting them. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/05/nyregion/citing-police-trap-protesters-file-suit.html
The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund, http://www.justiceonline.org/index.html is spearheading the lawsuit, but has removed the court filing image from its site. We figured as much since they stupidly posted the 5 people named along with their physical addresses. We did a screen shot before they took it down. Not that we would be so low to post where they live, but you can see it without the addresses here. http://www2.justiceonline.org/site/DocServer/10-2011_Brooklyn_Bridge_Arrests_-_Class_Action_Complaint.pdf?docID=1742
Represented by the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund, the suit against Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and the City of New York was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Case No: 11 CIV 6957 (Garcia, et al. vs. Bloomberg, et al.). Assigned to Judge Rakoff.

Is this the same Karina Garcia that got hit in the head protesting at a Minuteman meeting? Video with James Gilchrist. http://www.aztlan.net/karina_garcia_defeats_vigilantes.htm
Karina is/was? the Political Chair of the Chicano Caucus at Columbia University in New York City arguing for full rights for all immigrants. http://www.aztlan.net/karina_speaks.htm
Is this the same Marcel Cartier, the rapper who has declared, the “US Gov’t is the world’s largest terrorist” via Poject Nsearch? Marcel Cartier is an independent political rapper. Imagine that he just happens to have a new album “Revolutionary Minded 3″ that has just been released HERE
From http://huey3man.wordpress.com/tag/marcel-cartier/–
„My question to the NYPD: did you really think that it was a tactically intelligent decision to arrest 700 people?“ asked Cartier. „I think it actually had the opposite effect.“ Cartier added that after being apprehended, he bonded with his brethren that were among those arrested. „We turned those jails into centers of organizing,“ said Cartier. „It was definitely a very energizing experience – it charged me up.“
„It made me more committed to the cause and now I really want to see this moment succeed,“ he added. „It gives me so much energy, so much vision to go further.’Source
All fine and dandy and in the true spirit of socialism- someone else is paying the legal bills.

Yari Osorio is at the very least a contributor to PSL, the website of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Here are some of his recent thoughts on immigration education at http://www.pslweb.org/liberationnews/news/anti-immigrant-laws-wreck-childrens-lives.html.
Regarding the police, he wrote in another article-
We in the Party for Socialism and Liberation know that there is an alternative and that alternative is socialism, where the police would truly be a public safety force made up of the people and to serve the people. The task of building the confidence and revolutionary spirit in our communities is of paramount importance. We should be responsible for the safety of our communities—the people, not the capitalist police!. via http://www.pslweb.org/liberationnews/news/10-11-22-mobilizing-community-against-pol.html
Benjamin Becker must know or at least know of Osario’s writings since he is the editor of the organizations newspaper, About Liberation.
About Liberation
Newspaper of the Party for Socialism and Liberation
Newspaper Editor: | Ben Becker |
Becker said in a 2008 interview-
“They could be in a coma, they could be on vacation, whether they choose to work is almost a personal decision,” Becker said before he joined the frontlines, armed with catchy slogans and a small P.A. “They will continue to accumulate wealth. And that wealth is not appearing out of thin air, that’s wealth that working people have created for them.” via http://journalism.nyu.edu/publishing/archives/pavement/archive/socialist-and-liberation-party-cry-for-change-with-audio/index.html
Plantiff Cassandra Regan, we’re going to give her the benefit of the doubt as so far her trail in the world of socialism has left a pretty light footstep. In fact, there is a Cassandra Regan on Twitter and Facebook- but can’t verify its the same person.
Long and short. 4 of the 5 named have affiliations to either protests or socialism.
Citizens have the right to be free from government intrusion for lawful activities. A Freedom of Information Request has been filed by The Partnership to find out if the FBI, Mayors’ Office and/or others might have been in collusion against OWS. Here’s the brief at http://www.justiceonline.org/commentary/occupy-crackdown-legal.html. Citizens also have the right to free access of roads and parks being blocked by OWS.
God Bless and have a good day, one day it will be your last.
