President Obama, arriving in Denver was treated to a freak early snowstorm.
Maybe the weather modification system is down or someone is having a good laugh at his expense.
Of course, a good fundraiser is enough to make anyone all fuzzy and warm just thinking about all that money.

We have to pause to send thoughts and prayers to the people of Turkey after suffering a catastrophic earthquake. That being said, WTF?

Just before 18:00 UTC Monday a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) swept past the Ace Spacecraft and a Sudden Geomagnetic Impulse was detected shortly after. The solar wind reached near 550 km/s at its peak and the Bz was tilting sharply north and then south for long durations. Strong geomagnetic storming reaching close to the G3 Level took place at high latitudes. The storming has since subsided. The cause of all this activity was a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) seen here which resulted from a disappearing solar filament on Oct 22, 2011. Thousands of dead birds will be collected from an Ontario shoreline on Monday as the province’s Ministry of Natural Resources tries to determine what killed the waterfowl.
Officials estimate as many as 6,000 dead birds have washed up on the Georgian Bay’s shoreline. The carcasses are scattered along a nearly three-kilometre stretch near Wasaga Beach. The Flu.
In today’s antenna twist, the latest word comes in that fat and obese people who get vaccinated with the flu shot may not be getting enough of the inoculate. We wonder if obese people also had less side effects from the vaccine?

The National Narcolepsy Task Force in Finland determined that Pandemrix, an H1N1 / swine flu vaccine developed by drug giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), is responsible for causing narcolepsy in certain individuals, and particularly in children.

Pandemic, what pandemic? The one that the media and Big Pharma has created? Even the CDC website lists it as a Seasonal Flu.

Although the same trH3N2 was in all five human isolates (from three states collected over a two month time frame), the gene constellation has not been reported in any swine isolate.
In spite of the solid sequence data, the CDC continues to cite a swine linkage for human trH3N2 cases, even though no symptomatic swine or trH3N2 virus has been reported for any of the swine loosely linked to the five human trH3N2 cases.
In the final 10 weeks of the 2010/2011 season (weeks 30-39) most (67) of the 107 influenza A positive cases were not sub-typed and most H3N2 sequences from adolescents collected since July, 2011 have been trH3N2 cases. The CDC has released H3N2 sequences from 15 cases infected since July. The age was given for 13 cases, and 4 were adults. For the 9 sets of sequences from adolescents, 5 were the trH3N2 cases (see list below).
Thus, the CDC has failed to provide evidence that the human trH3N2 cases in 2011 originated in swine, or that the trH3N2 cases in adolescents were rare.
The CDC should be testing all influenza A positive samples for swine H3 using the sensitive PCR test, which should also be distributed to all state testing labs.
If his theory is correct that the, “CDC has failed to provide evidence that the human trH3N2 cases in 2011 originated in swine,” where did it originate from? Why aren’t they sub-typing?
A natural evolution of the flu? Or maybe it came from a Fort Detrick, Baxter Pharmaceuticals, or some nefarious source? From ABC News, September 15, 2005:
Officials discovered two weeks ago a failure to account for three of 24 mice that had been injected with a bacterium that causes various forms of the plague, including bubonic plague, inside the high-security facility located in the middle of the city of Newark. Remember that studies from Hong Kong and Canada found that if you got flu vaccine in 2008, you were about twice as likely to become ill with a swine flu infection the next year. A few nice days in a row in the Midwest just remind us that winter really sucks. Our crops are mostly done, just waiting on getting the winter wheat into the ground. Might as well get back to writing.
It looks like NC 12 will reopen tonight bringing motorists back to Hatteras Island after hurricane Irene created a new breach, August 26th. By most accounts the area and year round residents are still in dire need, especially with the tourist season over.
