What is more toxic, the oil spill or President Obama politics?

The real goal of “health care” legislation, the real goal of “cap-and-trade,” and the real goal of the “stimulus” is to rip the guts out of our private economy and transfer wide swaths of it over to the government to control. Do not be deluded by the propaganda. These initiatives are vehicles for change. They are not goals in and of themselves except in their ability to deliver power. They and will make matters much worse, for that is their design. http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/11/clowardpiven_government.html

Is the real goal of President Obama’s lack of response to the oil spill more government reliance? Is it an an excuse to shut down off shore oil drilling? As Rahm Emmanuel said, “A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.”

Former FEMA director Michael Brown is not backing off his charge that the Obama administration wants to use the Gulf Coast oil spill as a plot to put an end to offshore drilling. “They want a crisis like this, so that they can use a crisis like this to shut down offshore and gas drilling,” he said Tuesday night on CNN’s “AC 360°.”

The San Francisco Chronicle in January 2008. Obama told the Chronicle editorial board that he wanted cap-and-trade legislation to be as strong as possible.

“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” Obama told the board, after discussing the importance of figuring out how to use coal without emitting greenhouse gases. http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/05/05/brown.obama.oil.spill/index.html

Having read every 1,168 pages of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, it becomes more clear that her philosophical revolution of government takeover is pointing to real life. “I trust that no one will tell me that men such as I write about don’t exists. That this book has been written—and published—is my proof that they do,” wrote Rand in the “about the author,” section.

Any Americans genuinely willing to shrug off the President, to abandon the pursuit of their professed values with the aid of this president’s resolve to solve our manifold problems — whether these Americans are conservative or liberal, secular or spiritual— believing Obama appears to have failed so completely to solve the litany of problems enumerated above in the generous twelve months allotted, might want to recall that he said we are all in this together; that he said he would listen— that he is serious about relying on our ideas to forge the kind of changes— solutions to our problems— that we can believe in.

So he didn’t pick your idea(s)? Well then fuck’im. http://www.urantiansojourn.com/2010/01/obama-shrugged/

We’re all in this together all right!. He didn’t pick your idea(s)? Listen, we’re getting frigged alright. We’ve got the Constitutional President you voted for, who so far has operated one of the least transparent governments in recent history.

In the five years before the Deepwater Horizon exploded, federal investigators documented nearly 200 safety and environmental violations in accidents on platforms and rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, describing a stunning array of hazards that resulted in few penalties. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/deepwaterhorizon/7039960.html

The Deepwater Horizon isn’t the only oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico. For the last for the last six years another underwater platform has been leaking–

Site owner Taylor Energy Co. LLC said in a written statement that a production platform about 70 miles southwest of the Deepwater Horizon disaster was collapsed during Hurricane Ivan in 2004 by an underwater mudslide.

Pictures taken by an aerial photographer over the weekend and posted on the Internet suggested that oil was leaking from the drilling rig Ocean Saratoga, owned by Diamond Offshore Inc., and that a nearby vessel with a hose overboard was applying dispersant. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jX-xmAeoWhfq-yms3nI-eGi8-FuAD9G7C9JO3

It is not a new leak, just some dome adjustments to an old leak? A leak that no one was following? A leak that has Taylor Energy denying reports that its Ocean Saratoga rig was leaking oil the Gulf of Mexico. Instead, “Taylor is draining a subsea containment dome near the Ocean Saratoga.” http://blogs.barrons.com/stockstowatchtoday/2010/06/09/diamond-offshore-rebounds-no-2nd-gulf-spill/

A leaking drain? Oh please. A rose by another other name…(Shakespeare)

Atlas Shrugged wrote about the locomotive, copper and steel that the government took control of, eventually running the companies out of business. In real life, it is the coal and oil industry that Obama may put out of business or become government owned. It already owns banks and automobile companies.

Under President Barack Obama, the EPA has adopted a policy designed to curtail surface mining by sharply reducing mountaintop removal in six states…The Environmental Protection Agency’s plan to revoke a crucial permit for West Virginia’s largest mountaintop removal mine, with pro-industry forces accusing the agency of an illegal power grab and political machinations. The impact of a cease and desist on off shore drilling and investigations may put BP into bankruptcy. Who will pay for the clean-up and compensation then? You and me of course. Pushing my bullshit button, “Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is reassuring Congress that the Obama administration has pressed what he described as the “pause button, not the stop button,” on all offshore oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere.” http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jovg2Mk3tRYlNd4p-7zl44-h1fWQD9G7Q2HO1

Goldman Sachs analysts cut their view on the deepwater drillers to neutral specifically, the firm downgraded Diamond Offshore, Atwood Oceanics Inc., Noble Corp. and Transocean Ltd. No stock value means no one drills for oil and we either import it or go without to meet the nation’s energy needs.

The heartkeepercommonroom blog had this to say:

And here’s the thing- conspiracy theory or not, it really doesn’t matter. Cloward-Pliven put together a recipe they believed would lead to the collapse of this government to make it possible to replace it with socialism.

They wanted to end free market capitalism. Effectively, the stranglehold of regulation, the result of cronyism in government, the insidious relationship between lobbyists, politicians, and leftwing groups (which, no coincidence, favor Cloward-Pliven leftwing politics) such as PIRG and Public Citizen has effectively created a government which regulates free markets and small entrepreneurs out of existence. They wanted to increase the public’s dependency on the government sector. Can anybody argue with a straight face and uncrossed fingers that this has not happened?

It doesn’t really matter so much whether this is being done deliberately by people who know what they are doing, by duped useful idiots whose strings are being pulled behind the scenes by some malevolent forces of evil, or through mere incompetence. The results are what they are, the same in every case. <a href="http://heartkeepercommonroom.blogspot.com/2010/06/conspiracy-theory-or-incompentence.html"

CAN the results be different if you figure out who is John Galt for yourself?

The insidious result is that America needs oil and energy, and we have a President who claims to be responsible, while pointing fingers at everyone else.

This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land

Adding to his promise of change and hope, President Obama today will give the government more control over grabbing American land and how it is used.

Obama is fast becoming the best magician in the world, first print money out of thin air and now grabbing land away from private enterprise with his signature. He is expected today sign into law the land bill that merges 164 separate bills for parks, wilderness and conservation projects into one single bill- the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009.

The Revolutionary War and War of 1812 Battlefield Protection Act, as it was originally proposed is yet another broken promise of transparency. The bill has not been made available for more than five days; this time due to the fact he is scheduled to leave for London Tuesday. “When there’s a bill that ends up on my desk as president, you, the public, will have five days to look on line and find out what’s in it before I sign it. ” The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Medicare expansion bill also went without posting the bill for five day comment.

H.R. 116 – the full text at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:HR00146:@@@L&summ2=m is an act to designate certain land as components of the National Wilderness Preservation System, to authorize certain programs and activities in the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture, and for other purposes. According to CBO, the 1,248-page bill is estimated to cost $6.4 billion. http://www.gop.gov/bill/111/1/s22 Again with the billions!

The bill will protect more than 2 million acres of wilderness in nine states and a thousand miles of rivers. Forgetting that we need land and water management in cooperation with multiple uses, the bill decimates access to the land for energy development and does a tap dance on private property owners rights in the name of conservation. While millions can not pay their heating bills we will have new national parks, trails, and a monument systems. In Wyoming alone, the bill prohibits natural resource development on about 1.2 million acres in Wyoming and will take 8.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 300 million barrels of oil out of production according to the Heritage Foundation. http://www.heritage.org/

Will the State of California rename the soon to be restored, and salmon stocked San Joaquin River of the Central Valley of California and call it, The Pelosi Valley or Baraq Watershed? Don’t polish the RV for camping trip just yet, the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) has pointed out that the S 22 of H.R. 146 will prohibit all motorized vehicle access. http://quad.transworld.net/2009/03/29/omnibus-public-lands-bill-scheduled-for-vote-take-action-now/ Forget about hiking and finding an arrowhead, the bill criminalize the casual collecting of paleontological resources of federal land.

Maybe we can designate another Area 51 in Nevada? Subtitle G , section 2601 provides for the conveyance of specified non-federal land administered by Carson City, Nevada to the Bureau of Land Management and again, limits the use of motorized and mechanical vehicles on federal land. Could this be a perfect location for a FEMA detention camp? Another Guantanamo?

In a further erosion of individual State’s regulations, Title IV: Forest Landscape Restoration- Section 4003- Directs the Secretary of Agriculture, through the Chief of the Forest Service, to establish a Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program to select and fund ecological restoration treatments for priority forest landscapes. Requires the Secretary to establish a scientific advisory panel to evaluate, and provide recommendations on, any proposal. Requires the panel to include experts in ecological restoration, fire ecology, fire management, rural economic development, strategies for ecological adaptation to climate change, fish and wildlife ecology, and woody biomass and small-diameter tree utilization.

National treasures and monuments could have easily been declared protected under the 1906 Antiquities Act, without consulting Congress. President Bush in fact, protected more of the ocean than anyone else in the world. First in 2006 when he established the 140,000-sq.-mi. Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument off the northwestern coast of the Hawaiian Islands, and in January of 2009 he created three separate marine national monuments in the central Pacific Ocean that together spans some 195,000 sq. mi.

What about those other purposes?

Ever hear of the The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act? CDRPA attached as a separate bill, and the 14th Title of this 15 title omnibus legislation http://unite2fightparalysis.org/images/uploaded/TitleXIV_of_HR_146.pdf. is a government heath care policy shoved into a land act. No one would dispute the tragedies associated with spinal cord injuries, Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and paralyzing conditions, but to bury it at the bottom of a land act? Subtitle C provides legislation to, “establish a population-based database that may be used for longitudinal and other research on paralysis and other disabling conditions- makes rounding up folks a little easier when you know exactly where they are.

Redefining land laws amounts to creating another comprehensive supra-national government institution. Our laws, economics, cultures, and politics are co-mingling to take away individual private rights, discourage capitalism and disburse more government powers in The New World Order. Will governments domain over the land go so far into Canada and Mexico to create the NAU- North American Union?

World Net Daily in 2006, gave warning when it issued a story titled “The U.N.’s Global Land Grab” http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49100 stating that: The Southern Appalachian Biosphere Reserve, or SAMAB, began in the 1970s when UNESCO recognized the 571,000-acre Great Smoky Mountains National Park as a site worthy to be included in its growing global network of Biosphere Reserves. Biosphere Reserves, by definition, include “core wilderness areas” protected from human use, which are surrounded by “buffer zones,” which are managed for conservation objectives. Those are surrounded by “zones of cooperation,” which are “laboratories for sustainable development.”

Under the guise of a bunny hugger plot and conservation objectives, the government is taking land and the rabbits with it. What magicians you have elected.

President Obama was in Williamsburg, Va., addressing the House Democrats saying the stimulus bill could end the “tyranny of oil, “and blames the entire economic meltdown of the GOP and GWB.

“Bolivian president Jorge Quiroga recently remarked that two key commodities, oil and cocaine, enter the United States duty free while the U.S. Congress debates duty-free entry of legal products from the United States…” http://www.latinbusinesschronicle.com/app/article.aspx?id=3129

Congress is debating a lot of things, but it would seem that this stimulus bill isn’t going to stimulate anything but more angst for everyone. Why would Obama allow House Democrats to draft his stimulus legislation in the first place? What could he have been been thinking. http://www.forbes.com/2009/02/05/obama-stimulus-republicans-opinions-columnists_0206_peter_robinson.html?partner=popstories

Apparently, it all comes back to the black gold and blame for Mr. O, failing to realize that there have been plenty of bipartisan issues that created this fiasco. Yes, three–quarters of oil is owned and controlled by the world’s governments. Chevron, Exxon Mobil, BP , Shell, Valero, Conoco-Phillips and Marathon are part of the world’s largest and most powerful financial empires in and of themselves, recently announcing record profits. Problematic, is the restrictions from drilling and exploration on U.S. Soil and Territories while Obama wants to go green. Sarah Palin governs a treasure trove of oil and reserves that could certainly help our economy.

Green is already breaking the state of California with businesses moving out of state and taking jobs with it before they have to pay cap and trade carbon penalties. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123336500319935517.html?mod=googlenews_wsj “Green policies have a tendency to push states into the red.” Green is not going to push up any daisies for America in the short term, either.

Antonia Juhasz, in her book, “The tyranny of oil- The world’s most powerful industry and what we must do to stop it,” http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95465269 says the business and politics of oil’s production pose such grave implications on so many fronts — the environment, human rights, the economy, worker safety, public health — that the current state of petroleum-industry affairs is fundamentally antithetical to democracy. Antithetical to democracy? Tell that to the Iraq’s who recently voted in a democratic election.

Juhasz is also analyst with Oil Change International, a watchdog group, and is the author of “The Bush Agenda: Invading the World, One Economy at a Time.” Want to bet she voted for Obama? Obama is not blameless in taking in Oil Industry campaign donations, granted not as much as the Republicans.

General James Jones, US National Security Adviser was nominated to the board of directors for Chevron. http://www.scandoil.com/moxie-bm2/news/gen-james-l-jones-nominated-to-chevron-board-of-di.shtml Jones said, “Americans are right to demand swift and sensible action to produce more energy right here at home…” http://www.energyxxi.org/articles/Statement_from_General_James_L_Jones_USMC_Ret_on_expanding_US_oil_and_gas_access.aspx Maybe there is hope yet.

In the first round of billions spent, a report due on Friday calculates Treasury put about $254 billion into financial institutions in 2008, but got only $176 billion in value. “That’s a shortfall of about $78 billion,” adding that Mr. Paulson “was not entirely candid” in his description of TARP’s bank capital injection program. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/06/business/economy/06tarp.html?em Pauslon bought preferred stock in companies like General Motors and Citigroup. I’ve heard of “Buy American”, but holy shit, Paulson wasn’t supposed to take it literally.

What the frig is O doing in Williamsburg anyways- the campaign is over. We know, you won. Sad thing is, we’ve already lost $78 billion. A stimulus is supposed to be immediate short-term spending in an economic downturn, not a forever solution to every problem. It is still winter on the calendar and just a few weeks into the Obama administration and capitalism and globalization are freezing in the US.

Someone get Obama a blanket cause the heat is on Mr. President.
