First post since Wpress updated, bear w me & new buttons- ugh.

It’s winter, we get it- but this is just crazy. At the very least it is frigging cold. The birds are chirping and there is more daylight. Think the clocks roll ahead next week. No signs of a Robin bird yet- so we know 1.) they are smart birds and 2.) no early spring. Curse you Punxsutawney Phil- the groundhog who saw his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter.

Farmer winter weather forecast says- here we go again. Pix via NOAA.

California is getting slammed w much needed rain & likely mudslides. If that water vapor continues to gain strength on a path towards the Midwest, it’s going to mean even more snow. Currently there is a HUGE snow, ice event heading to the Midwest and over our farm. Maybe 10-12 inches of snow and freezing temps. Going to have to get some more milk, bread, etc., bc driving is going to be hazardous. Millions of folks are going to be impacted.

No doubt people are going to loose power, the homeless are going to need shelter. Monday will likely be a snow day w kids off school yet again. The animals coats are as thick as ever although our domesticated rabbit escaped after a goat knocked over her hutch. “Ginger Rabbit,” was crazy so she has a good chance to survive.

If u glance back up at pix, put on your tinfoil hat and ask if that is Mother Nature, haarp, geoengineering, cloud seeding or what? No answers, but dang sure looks ominous. Been noticing somewhat of a correlation to snow events in the Midwest & earthquakes in Chile & Alaska. Just a casual observance, but the antennae are up.

Holy shit Batman, the brakes were all but frozen this morning. We started the SUV to let it warm up for the morning commute to school and piled the kids in with their 50 pound backpacks and began the day. There is a big heat wave of 6 degrees and the roads were passable until- shimmy shake yikes for the from end at 20 mph.

We pulled over and as it turned out our brakes, wheel wells and metal hubs were frozen in solid ice. I’ve been driving in the crap of winter for many years and have never, ever had to de-ice tires. With near frost bit hands and the snow brush handle we got it all cleared and made it safe.

Thing that gets me is why didn’t a sensor go off? Dang car indicator light pops up when icy conditions occur, when we need an oil change, a low tire indicator etc., but not when the brakes don’t work? Wtf GM?

Alas the SUV is a 2009 so maybe there is a hiccup. We have always only purchased USA branded and made. No more, looking for a nice Honda or Toyota w some sensors that tell me snafu ahead of driving.

Be safe friends and by all means give your tires a glance before heading down the lane.

Whew, it is snowing like a bat out of Haides. Our family is all bunkered in for the weekend and coming days. It is cold and plain old nasty as
winter weather is upon us in the Midwest.

The days of childhood w a crap car come to mind as we always had to stock up w necessities of bread, eggs and milk before a snow storm. We ate bread soaked in milk w sugar on top and thought it a grand treat.

Today’s treat is everyone staying home. Everything is canceled. The farm is frozen as are the lakes. Animals are fed, their water is dethawed- at least somewhat. Counting the days til spring is a good occupation!

There is no place like home.

Holy cow batman, know it’s winter but minus 10 degrees air temp? Yep, and the wind is howling. Dunno how to figure windchill but kids are throwing water off porch and it’s turning to snow. Cray.

Goodness Winter sucks. Less than 100 day ’til Spring- 97 days to be exact. Farm animal water freezing, hay needs to be raked, dog not getting walked, all is harvested & everyone is cold.

So not ready for holidays. Presents, food, drinks etc., and now lake effect snow coming pretty far south- enough to make things slippery for jackwads without trucks. Picture the little old lady driving a ’92 Toyota. Ugh.

Few pix of snow falling – stay warm friends & keep the spirit of Christmas in our hearts.

Pouring rain in the sunshine on the farm. We spot a rainbow and one of the kids hops on the golf cart to find the gold at the end. She is my pot of gold. Lucky me.

It’s starting to smell and feel like fall and it sucks. Daily temps mid 70’s and below 50 in the evening. Likely will have to harvest corn early. Thought we’d share some summer flower color while it lasts. Betting on an early winter.

See how many of you know the common names of. Hint – one is a balloon flower!

For the record July was the wettest ever. We had upwards of 14 inches of measurable rain on the farm. The corn remains good with no water damage- the apples on the other hand not looking so good.

Being a farmer does not preclude us from having a pool. Had to syphon water out, then days later run the hose to fill it up from evaporation in the summer sun. Broke down and put the air conditioning on for 3 days as we had house guests, and the pool heater was on. Go figure.

Windows open and a nice breeze,
a/c off! Sadly counting days til school and missing my kids. And, no one hates homework more than a parent with busy kids on the farm and sports.

On a political note- too many “phony” scandals is bullcrap. 4 dead, how is that phony? IRS, NSA, F&F. How people voted O in a 2nd time is beyond comprehension. We pray for USA and our Prez to be forthcoming in truth to the allegiance to the patriots in America.

Oh, and a new litter of kittens yday! Meow.

HAARP? SCALAR RINGS, one big weather pattern? One heck of a storm?A broken radar? The unusual radar event today centers from Dover, Delaware, extending 100’s of miles out. By our estimation whatever it was lasted a little over an hour. My 1st screen cap shows 11:30pm EST but it may have started earlier.

Hmm, a quick wiki ck-

Dover Air Force Base or Dover AFB (IATA: DOV, ICAO: KDOV, FAA LID: DOV) is a United States Air Force base located 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of the city of Dover, Delaware.

Dover AFB is home to the 436th Airlift Wing (436 AW) of the Air Mobility Command (AMC), known as the “Eagle Wing”, and the AMC-gained 512th Airlift Wing (512 AW) of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), referred to as the “Liberty Wing”. It was the only base to solely operate the massive C-5 Galaxy, with two active flying squadrons (the 3rd Airlift Squadron, which now operates the C-17 Globemaster III, and 9th Airlift Squadron) and two Air Force Reserve flying squadrons (the 326th Airlift Squadron and the 709th Airlift Squadron).

Dover AFB is also the home for the largest military mortuary in the Department of Defense, and has been used for processing military personnel killed in both war and peacetime; the remains of those killed overseas are traditionally brought to Dover before being transferred to family. The Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs has also been used to identify remains of civilians in certain exceptional circumstances: in 1978 for the victims of the Jonestown mass murder/suicide, in 1986 for identifying the remains of the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger, and in 2003 for the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia. It was also a major site for identifying the remains of military personnel killed in the 9/11 attacks.

No doubt Dover AFB is an important military installation which is why the radar anomaly grabbed our attention.

With all the BS being discovered by a host of acronym agencies, is it any wonder people are not laughing at our tinfoil hat any more.

Heck, maybe one of the best military installations in the world just had a bad day. Maybe a lot of things. Have to keep an eye on the area the next few days.

What’s your take on it?
