The Senate-passed bill cleared the House on a 219-212 vote and is now on it’s way to President Obama’s desk for signing.

“So this is how liberty dies… with thunderous applause.” – Senator Amidala

As previously noted at, https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/heath-care-reform-bill-vs-constitution/  the Health Care Bill has more pages than War and Peace, has nearly five times as many words as the Torah, and its tables of contents alone run far longer than this story…it clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word….Republicans aide said a print-out of the bill weighs more than 19 pounds and stands nearly nine inches tall.

How fast can Obama read it?  Will he even bother, or just sign it again avoiding the transparency he promised and repeatedly has broken?  The legislation still is not posted at http://www.whitehouse.gov/

The Obama Administration officially abandoned the President’s “Sunlight before Signing” campaign pledge [volokh.com] that the White House would post all legislation passed by Congress for at least five days before the President would sign it. In making this announcement, the Administration maintained that it would comply with the spirit, if not the letter, of the original commitment by posting legislation on the White House site once it became clear legislation would eventually pass and make it to the President’s desk. This new commitment, they suggested, would actually provide even greater sunlight, as some bills would be available for review earlier and for a longer time. Well, this promise is no longer operative either, as the Cato Institute’s Jim Harper details [www.cato-at-liberty.org]. http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/read.php?40,211456,213807,quote=1

To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans, Harry Reid http://reid.senate.gov/ has ensured that this can never be repealed. From an email we received:

Beginning on page 1,000 of the measure, Section 3403 reads in part: “it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.”

In other words, if President Barack Obama signs this measure into law, no future Senate or House will be able to change a single word of Section 3403, regardless whether future Americans or their representatives in Congress wish otherwise.
Note that the subsection at issue here concerns the regulatory power of the Independent Medicare Advisory Board (IMAB) to “reduce the per capita rate of growth in Medicare spending.”
“American Indians don’t have to buy Medical insurance; Those with religious objections or a financial hardship can also avoid the requirement according to http://twitter.com/Warof2010.”   I wonder if the millions of people participating in entitlement programs like Welfare will be exempt?

President Barack Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, right, a native of Kenya, departs with an unidentified companion after requesting asylum at a closed immigration hearing Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in Boston. Onyango, half-sister of Obama's late father, moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. She didn't leave and continued to live in public housing in Boston. (AP Photo/Josh Reynolds)

Will  Obama’s Kenyan aunt Zeituni Onyango qualify for universal health care too?  Her pre-existing condition of Guillain-Barré syndrome would certainly be covered.  Is she still collecting benefits?  Wonder where she is living?
Obama said on the White House Blog, http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/03/22/what-change-looks  , “So this isn’t radical reform. But it is major reform. This legislation will not fix everything that ails our health care system. But it moves us decisively in the right direction. This is what change looks like.”

Voting For or Against The Bill

The NYTimes http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/03/22/us/politics/20100322-group-vote-chart.html today takes, “A look at some important groups in Sunday’s House vote to pass the health care bill approved by the Senate in December.”  It also lists each and everyone of the bastards that voted for this abomination.

President Obama is expected to sign the health care bill Tuesday at the earliest. Only then can the Senate begin dealing with the reconciliation package.  According to Senate rules, members are allowed to offer unlimited amendments and challenges to the reconciled bill….Boehner had said the revised health care bill was worse than the original legislation, adding that the “American people are going to hear about every payoff, every kickback and every sweetheart deal that comes out.” http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/03/22/senate.health.care.ahead/

As the Senate still has to sign off on the changes, every single member needs to read the U.S. Constitution, occupying four sheets of parchment, containing 4, 543 words that clearly outline why this piece of legislation is illegal.

U.S Constitution, Article I, Section VII, Clause II.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively

The majority of the American people object, Mr. President.

Just 41% of voters favor the plan while 54% are opposed. Those figures include 26% who Strongly Favor the plan and 45% who are Strongly Opposed. Most voters believe it will raise the cost of health care and reduce the quality of care. Still, nearly two-out-of-three voters believe it is at least somewhat likely to pass and become law.

From a political perspective, 50% of voters are less likely to vote for a Member of Congress who supports the health care reform plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats. Just 20% believe that most Members of Congress will understand the proposed health care bill before they vote on it.  via http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

As we understand it, a lot of elected officials had better understand they will be out of jobs come next election.

How can anyone figure out The Heath care Reform Bill when people can’t even figure out the Tax Code?

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is irked that nearly 100,000 civilian federal employees owe the IRS $962 million in back taxes. He thinks they should pay up or be fired.   Chaffetz has introduced a bill that calls for the federal government to “ferret out” civilian employees who have “seriously delinquent tax debt” and prevent the hiring of other tax delinquents.  More than 3 percent of the 2.8 million federal civilian employees owed the Treasury unpaid federal income taxes in 2008, according to the IRS. If you include retirees and military service members, the numbers go from nearly 100,000 up to 276,000 current or former workers who owe $3 billion in taxes.  Writes,  http://thewere42.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/tax-scam-uncle-sam-you-oughta-be-fired-says-utah-rep-chaffetz/

How many pages of tax code are there?

Title 26 contains all the Federal IRS CODE.
Title 26 contains 20 Volumes.
All 20 volumes contain a total of 14,872 pages of tax code.
All 20 volumes weight in at 35 Pounds
All 20 volumes cost $1,080.00

Obtained from the GPO- Government Printing Office, as of April 1st 2009, 14,872 pages of tax code.  It is over 24 times longer than the King James version of the Bible at 608 pages. Over 11 times longer than War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy-1296 pages.  It’s 20 volumes are about 5 feet thick! Laying the pages end to end it would be over 2.5 miles  The average reader would take 31 days of non stop reading to read all of the tax codes.

How many pages in the Health Care Reform Bill?

First not making time to see the Dali Lama, and now not bothering to go to Berlin to attend the celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall some 20 years ago is a slap in the face as, 93% Say Fall of Berlin Wall Important To World History.  http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/europe/november_2009/93_say_fall_of_berlin_wall_important_to_world_history

President Obama squeezed in a trip to Copenhagen last month to lobby, unsuccessfully, for Chicago to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. He plans to travel to Oslo next month to accept the Nobel Peace Prize, an award that even Obama has said he does not deserve. And this coming week, he sets out on a week long tour of Asia.  But the president does not plan to travel to Germany to attend the 20th anniversary celebration Monday of the fall of the Berlin Wall, drawing heated criticism from those who say he’s ignoring a shining triumph of American-inspired democracy.  “A tragedy,” is how former House Speaker Newt Gingrich described Obama’s absence. http://www.thefoxnation.com/berlin-wall/2009/11/09/obama-skips-berlin-wall-anniversary

Instead of going himself, he sent U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton who congratulated Germans on the 20-year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at a meeting Monday with Angela Merkel, Germany’s first chancellor from the former communist East.  The wall that divided East and West Berlin, Clinton said Sunday at an earlier event, the hard work that went into ending the Cold War must be channeled to meet fresh challenges, including the fights against extremism and climate change. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091109/ap_on_re_eu/eu_clinton_germany

Again with the Climate Change crap. She might have mentioned that on November 27, 20 years of freedom from Soviet communism in the Czech Republic and Slovakia will be celebrated as well.

On the bright side at least he isn’t spending our tax dollars on a trip on AirForce One.  We need every dime with him spending a trillion dollars or so on a health care reform trip that will put every U.S citizen down a path of further economic distress and give government more power.

The New York Times’ Sheryl Gay Stolberg, “The timing is crucial. Administration officials say Mr. Obama wants to wrap up work on health care so that he can turn his attention to other legislative priorities, including passing an energy bill and revamping financial regulations. But White House officials also know that the closer the final vote comes to the November 2010 midterm Congressional elections, the more difficult it will be to pass legislation. ”

Tonight the president will meet with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office. We wonder if they are going to talk about Germany- post the Nazi regime that killed millions during the Holocaust?  Will they talk of the similar wall and fences that separate Palestinians and Israelis?  President Reagan said, “The advance of human liberty can only strengthen the cause of world peace,” prior to saying, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

Isreal border fence

The Israeli West-Bank barrier, “separation (hafrada) fence”  is a  barrier being constructed by the State of Israel, consisting of a network of fences with vehicle-barrier trenches surrounded by an on average 60 meter wide exclusion area (90%) and high concrete walls up to 8 meters high.   The Israeli Gaza Strip barrier and the wall separating Gaza from Egypt have been less controversial, but still stand. via Wiki.  Will there be any mention of tearing down these walls, aand what of the walls in the U.S.?

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that it had more than 580 miles (930 km) of fence in place by the second week of January, 2009 and  had spent $40 million on environmental analysis and mitigation measures aimed at blunting any possible adverse impact that the fence might have on the environment. Days into The Obama Presidency, on January 16, 2009 DHS announced it was pledging an additional $50 million for that purpose, and signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior for utilization of the additional funding. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/17/us/17border.html?_r=1.   Just yesterday, in TIJUANA, Mexico, Mexican troops discovered a 122 yard long tunnel apparently aimed at crossing the U.S. border underground. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,573049,00.html

Other cities of the world who have or had walls, can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_with_defensive_walls.

Also today, Mr. Obama will sign an Executive Order on the employment of veterans in the federal government, which makes the Federal Government the model employer of Veterans and establishes a Council on Veterans Employment and a Veterans Employment Program office within most Federal agencies. via http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/11/09/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5587419.shtml?tag=latest   This should raise some conspiracy antenna as one of those long winded executive orders regarding pandemics and martial Law was to bring back and hire retired former servicemen and women.  Maybe with their expertise they can manage a better land survey.  America has built a portion of the fence in Mexico which must be moved.

Lastly, Vitaly Ginzburg, a Nobel Prize-winning Russian physicist and one of the fathers of the Soviet hydrogen bomb, has died in Moscow.”I am still inclined to believe in the brilliant future of mankind,” he said in the autobiography. http://www.mail.com/Article.aspx/world/0/APNews/General-World-News/20091109/U_EU-Russia-Obit-Ginzburg?pageid=1

We too are inclined to believe in the future of mankind, even more so after January 20, 2013.

The CDC is saying that one out of five children in the U.S. have probably already had H1N1 Swine Flu, long before any vaccine was available.  http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/  Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins said, “It now appears that much of the vaccine could arrive only after many people have already been infected with H1N1.  http://abcnews.go.com/Health/WireStory?id=8932595&page=2

Whether you blame the vaccine makers or government’s distribution process, it looks likely that there is going to be a lot of unused vaccines leftover.

David Fedson, Former Director of Medical Affairs, Aventis Pasteur MSD and a former consultant to the World Health Organization, said in a September interview with CFR- The Council on Foreign Relations:

H1N1, or so-called swine flu virus, has not disappointed us at all. It’s now in virtually every country of the world and managed to make that move in just a matter of a couple of months. After six weeks or so, it became quite evident that overall, the effects of infection in populations were rather mild, and in general no more severe than a seasonal [flu]. What we’ve seen is a mild illness overall that’s infecting a very large number of people and communities in a rather short period of time.

What we’ve been witness to, is how good the propaganda machine called government heathcare is in America.   The World Health Organization and the World’s health experts knew that H1N1 was no more severe than the seasonal flu, but forgot to tell anyone.
America’s reaction was to spend $1.5 billion for the 250 million swine flu vaccines that the government has ordered so far and will be distributing free to doctors, pharmacies and schools. In addition, Congress has set aside more than $10 billion this year to research flu viruses, monitor H1N1’s progress and educate the public about prevention. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/big-business-swine-flu/Story?id=8820642&page=1

As to what to do with the left over flu shots, the ingredients in the vaccine probably qualify as hazardous waste.  Spending money in the name of research is one thing; spending tax dollars hazzardly on a vaccine that may not work according to the patient inserts and after the fact, is quite another.

obamabad

We usually feel better after apology but not this time.  According to the NY Times, “The Obama administration is signaling to Congress that the president could support taxing some employee health benefits, as several influential lawmakers and many economists favor, to help pay for overhauling the health care system.”  http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/15/us/politics/15health.html?_r=1

Yesterday, President Obama said, “It’s never as good as we say it is and it’s never as bad as we say it is. I’m very optimistic.”   Gee, that makes me feel better.  Obama has placed himself in a win/win with that comment and placed all of us in further jeopardy of being poor.  During the election Obama criticized McCain for even suggesting it- so instead, he is sending a message to Congress that if they will do it, he will sign it into law.  Throw in the proposed carbon tax and a tax for every mile driven and the working man or woman won’t see even half of his wages.

SodaHead’s blog writes, ” Doing the math, this would cost the average family receiving health insurance from their employers $2,000 or more in extra taxes per year. Kiss that $600 dollar tax cut good by.” http://www.sodahead.com/blog/49361/obama-plan-to-tax-your-health-care-how-does-that-grab-you/ .

What incentive is there to work when under O, soon most services will be free anyways?  Why should my doctor bust his ass on a Friday when it puts him into a higher tax bracket?  Schools around the nation are considering four day weeks, why not the rest of us?  “By extending school hours and eliminating a day of classes each week, education officials say they could save bus loads of money on transportation and utilities.” http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_11898035?nclick_check=1

Why not go to four days a week for all of us?  While I am pondering three day weekends, maybe we should move to the European style of vacations and work ethics.  In the 15 nations of the European Union, by law all full-time employees must be given a minimum of four weeks’ paid vacation per year; in Japan mandates 25 days a year, so unlike 127 other countries, the U.S. has no minimum paid-leave law.  We are the No Vacation Nation and are taxed so highly that half of us can’t afford to go on vacation anyways.  We work hard to give to our government.

Harvard Economist Juliet Shore wrote that we should hold jobs to a set number of hours per week, offer comp time for any overtime, and lower our living standards. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/046505434X.  Lower our living standards?  Ain’t that a kick in the ass, go to work and lower the standards for the American Dream!  Frig u.

Accepting lower standards is only half the problem.  The standards are so low, that it is now perceived to be okay to accept welfare and subsidized housing on a regular basis. Used to be I’d see folks in line at the grocery store embarrassed as they paid with food stamps, now they wave them in the air like they are a prize.  Accepting the standards of the welfare system should never be acceptable nor should the incentive to lower our standards ever be spat out.

I could envision a job interview where the employee says that they expect to work no more than 40 hours a week.  Laughable, because there are plenty of others who are willing to work twice as long for the same pay with or without vacation time.

TAKE BACK YOUR TIME is a major U.S./Canadian initiative to challenge the epidemic of overwork, over-scheduling and time famine that now threatens our health, our families and relationships, our communities and our environment.  http://www.timeday.org/.  It isn’t my time that feels threatened at the moment, it is my wallet under Obama’s tax plans.

We really don’t have to worry about Take Back Your Time Day- October 24 with so many unemployed we have lots of vacation time, just no money and no incentives to look for work.  Even if you still have a job and take a paid vacation, you are taxed.  Oh, the poor travel industry.

I think you even have to pay taxes on unemployment compensation.  Is there anything left that doesn’t have a tax?  The only thing I can think of is breathing and when that ends, there is a death tax.
