Obamacare, Liberty, and Justice for All Gets Challenged in The Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has scheduled a six hours for oral arguments regarding Obamacare March 26–28, 2012. The case is more formally known as The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). That law along with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act are the basis of health care reform that were signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010.

The law REQUIRES people who do not have employer or government health insurance to buy essential health insurance.  It is also know as the “individual mandate.”  Ironically, the phrase never appears in the 2,409 page mandate.  It also puts penalties on employers who do not provide health insurance directed by politicians standards.  “The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)—the nation’s largest small-business advocacy organization—has joined the ranks of twenty state attorneys general in a lawsuit attacking the constitutionality of President Obama’s new healthcare law.”  http://news.heartland.org/newspaper-article/national-small-business-organization-joins-lawsuit-against-obamacare

Ideas that empower people.  Chicago · http://www.heartland.org  We just love the fact that this organization is based out of Chicago, the Obama’s adopted hometown where he went to church with Reverend Wright and hung out with Tony Retzko, Bill Ayers and the like.

So you think, screw you I am not participating?  If you refuse you will be charged 1% of your income in 2014 and 2.5% in 2016 penalty.

Obama, who claims to be a Constitutional scholar has failed to take note that the law he signed is in defiance of the 10th amendment which grants the enumerated powers to the State, not the Federal Government.  Nearly half of the America States are suing to stop this absurd abuse of power.

Regulation of non-economic activity under the Commerce Clause is possible only through the Necessary and Proper Clause. The Necessary and Proper Clause confers supplemental authority only when the means adopted to accomplish an enumerated power are ‘appropriate’, are ‘plainly adapted to that end’, and are ‘consistent with the letter and spirit of the constitution.’ Requiring citizen-to-citizen subsidy or redistribution is contrary to the foundational assumptions of the constitutional compact. (Case 3:10-cv-00188-HEH, Document 1. Page 5)

If the Federal Government is allowed to make you buy insurance, what else can it make you do? We already know it make you pay taxes, and there in is a precedent for this case.  Could the government make you subscribe to a National ID? A vaccination? A RFID Tag? Mandatory Military or Civil Service? Take your land? Stop you from owning a legal firearm?

Executive Orders require no Congressional approval but have the same legal weight as laws passed by Congress. The President’s source of authority to issue Executive Orders can be found in the Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution which grants the President “executive Power.” Section 3 of Article II further directs the President to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” To implement or execute the laws of the land, Presidents give direction and guidance to Executive Branch agencies and departments, often in the form of Executive Orders.

Here are a just few of the 50+ he has signed via http://jiberish.hubpages.com/hub/Obamas-Executive-Orders-A-Menace-to-Society

• Obama enacts stronger “federal hate crimes legislation” to “reinvigorate enforcement at the Department of Justice’s Criminal Section.”

• Obama creates “a fund to help people refinance their mortgages and provide comprehensive supports to innocent homeowners.”

• Obama, following through on his pledge to “meet with the leaders of all nations, friend and foe,” signs a non-aggression pact with Iran.

• Obama doubles foreign aid to $50 billion to cut “poverty around the world in half by 2015.”

• Obama enacts socialized medicine, destroying small businesses with taxes.

• Obama enacts amnesty for illegal aliens.

• Obama enacts legislation demanding carbon friendly cars

There is a complete list of Executive orders here, http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/executive-orders/obama-subjects.html.

What is most striking is Obama’s first executive order was to seal all presidential records. Ohbamababy, what is there to hide?

After flubbing Obama’s swearing in, in an “abundance of caution,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. had once again administered President Barack Obama’s swearing-in as they stood in the Map Room of the White House.

I’m really surprised that anyone was taken in for a moment by Obama and Roberts “flubbing” the oath of office. Obama knows perfectly well that he is not an American citizen and so cannot legally take the oath. This little charade he played out with Roberts was obviously designed to cover up the fraud. Now we know why the Supreme Court refused to hear the birth certificate case — Roberts was in on it from the beginning.

I mean, duh.  http://whiskeyfire.typepad.com/whiskey_fire/2009/01/the-conspiracy-unmaskd.html

http://citizenwells.wordpress.com/arch 23, 2010 has one of the best websites on Obama’s eligibility issues. One may call the group leading the investigation as birthers; we feel it is every citizens birthright to have complete disclosure and transparency.

There is media blackout in effect on the most controversial story of the Obama presidency. The findings of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s six-month investigation into Obama’s constitutional eligibility are impressive, yet nothing on CNN, ABC,AP Reuters, etc.  You can find out more here http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/media-blackout-on-eligibility-near-total/

And just what the heck is Obama talking about regarding missile defense with Russia?  Caught on a hot mike- “President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.” http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/03/president-obama-asks-medvedev-for-space-on-missile-defense-after-my-election-i-have-more-flexibility/  What is so flexible in his utter disregard for the Congress and Senate that he has to wait until after the election?  Will he bring us into another war via the U.N. usurping legislative and executive voting?  More flexibility in his socialist agenda?

The Supreme Court has failed to hear eligibility cases that would make everything he has ever done, moot.  So now we have to have faith that when the Court issues its ruling, expected sometime in June, that it will put an end to this nonsense.

Reason sums up nicely why three reasons to chuck the whole program even before it gets underway. http://reason.com/blog/2012/03/25/3-reasons-to-kill-obamacare-before-it-be

1. It Represents the End of Limited Government

      .

2. Its Price Tag is Already Ballooning.

      <

3. Obamacare Won’t Make Us Healthier.

    <

At the end of the day, the Supreme Court Justices will vote their politics and ideology—not the law.

At least that is what’s on your mind if you are one of the 75 percent of all Americans who, according to a recent Bloomberg Poll, believe that our Supreme Court is all about fulfilling the ideological political agenda of the president and party who handed the Justices their lifetime appointments and not about deciding the issues on their legal merits or an objective interpretation of the Constitution. via http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/03/26/is-the-scotus-deck-already-stacked-against-obamacare/

At the end of the day if the ruling holds, the U.S. government will control nearly 15% of the economy.  How you liking all that “Hope and Change?”

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God,indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

The Supreme Court will also make the audio recording of the arguments available later the same day on its website: http://www.supremecourt.gov/oral—arguments/argument—audio.aspx.

Stay tuned and have a good day, one day it will be your last.  God Bless.

The Senate-passed bill cleared the House on a 219-212 vote and is now on it’s way to President Obama’s desk for signing.

President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and senior staff, react in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, as the House passes the health care reform bill, March 21, 2010. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

“So this is how liberty dies… with thunderous applause.” – Senator Amidala

As previously noted at, https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/heath-care-reform-bill-vs-constitution/  the Health Care Bill has more pages than War and Peace, has nearly five times as many words as the Torah, and its tables of contents alone run far longer than this story…it clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word….Republicans aide said a print-out of the bill weighs more than 19 pounds and stands nearly nine inches tall.

How fast can Obama read it?  Will he even bother, or just sign it again avoiding the transparency he promised and repeatedly has broken?  The legislation still is not posted at http://www.whitehouse.gov/

The Obama Administration officially abandoned the President’s “Sunlight before Signing” campaign pledge [volokh.com] that the White House would post all legislation passed by Congress for at least five days before the President would sign it. In making this announcement, the Administration maintained that it would comply with the spirit, if not the letter, of the original commitment by posting legislation on the White House site once it became clear legislation would eventually pass and make it to the President’s desk. This new commitment, they suggested, would actually provide even greater sunlight, as some bills would be available for review earlier and for a longer time. Well, this promise is no longer operative either, as the Cato Institute’s Jim Harper details [www.cato-at-liberty.org]. http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/read.php?40,211456,213807,quote=1

To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans, Harry Reid http://reid.senate.gov/ has ensured that this can never be repealed. From an email we received:

Beginning on page 1,000 of the measure, Section 3403 reads in part: “it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.”

In other words, if President Barack Obama signs this measure into law, no future Senate or House will be able to change a single word of Section 3403, regardless whether future Americans or their representatives in Congress wish otherwise.
Note that the subsection at issue here concerns the regulatory power of the Independent Medicare Advisory Board (IMAB) to “reduce the per capita rate of growth in Medicare spending.”
“American Indians don’t have to buy Medical insurance; Those with religious objections or a financial hardship can also avoid the requirement according to http://twitter.com/Warof2010.”   I wonder if the millions of people participating in entitlement programs like Welfare will be exempt?

President Barack Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, right, a native of Kenya, departs with an unidentified companion after requesting asylum at a closed immigration hearing Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in Boston. Onyango, half-sister of Obama's late father, moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. She didn't leave and continued to live in public housing in Boston. (AP Photo/Josh Reynolds)

Will  Obama’s Kenyan aunt Zeituni Onyango qualify for universal health care too?  Her pre-existing condition of Guillain-Barré syndrome would certainly be covered.  Is she still collecting benefits?  Wonder where she is living?
Obama said on the White House Blog, http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/03/22/what-change-looks  , “So this isn’t radical reform. But it is major reform. This legislation will not fix everything that ails our health care system. But it moves us decisively in the right direction. This is what change looks like.”

Voting For or Against The Bill

The NYTimes http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/03/22/us/politics/20100322-group-vote-chart.html today takes, “A look at some important groups in Sunday’s House vote to pass the health care bill approved by the Senate in December.”  It also lists each and everyone of the bastards that voted for this abomination.

President Obama is expected to sign the health care bill Tuesday at the earliest. Only then can the Senate begin dealing with the reconciliation package.  According to Senate rules, members are allowed to offer unlimited amendments and challenges to the reconciled bill….Boehner had said the revised health care bill was worse than the original legislation, adding that the “American people are going to hear about every payoff, every kickback and every sweetheart deal that comes out.” http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/03/22/senate.health.care.ahead/

As the Senate still has to sign off on the changes, every single member needs to read the U.S. Constitution, occupying four sheets of parchment, containing 4, 543 words that clearly outline why this piece of legislation is illegal.

U.S Constitution, Article I, Section VII, Clause II.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively

The majority of the American people object, Mr. President.

Just 41% of voters favor the plan while 54% are opposed. Those figures include 26% who Strongly Favor the plan and 45% who are Strongly Opposed. Most voters believe it will raise the cost of health care and reduce the quality of care. Still, nearly two-out-of-three voters believe it is at least somewhat likely to pass and become law.

From a political perspective, 50% of voters are less likely to vote for a Member of Congress who supports the health care reform plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats. Just 20% believe that most Members of Congress will understand the proposed health care bill before they vote on it.  via http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

As we understand it, a lot of elected officials had better understand they will be out of jobs come next election.

How can anyone figure out The Heath care Reform Bill when people can’t even figure out the Tax Code?

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is irked that nearly 100,000 civilian federal employees owe the IRS $962 million in back taxes. He thinks they should pay up or be fired.   Chaffetz has introduced a bill that calls for the federal government to “ferret out” civilian employees who have “seriously delinquent tax debt” and prevent the hiring of other tax delinquents.  More than 3 percent of the 2.8 million federal civilian employees owed the Treasury unpaid federal income taxes in 2008, according to the IRS. If you include retirees and military service members, the numbers go from nearly 100,000 up to 276,000 current or former workers who owe $3 billion in taxes.  Writes,  http://thewere42.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/tax-scam-uncle-sam-you-oughta-be-fired-says-utah-rep-chaffetz/

How many pages of tax code are there?

Title 26 contains all the Federal IRS CODE.
Title 26 contains 20 Volumes.
All 20 volumes contain a total of 14,872 pages of tax code.
All 20 volumes weight in at 35 Pounds
All 20 volumes cost $1,080.00

Obtained from the GPO- Government Printing Office, as of April 1st 2009, 14,872 pages of tax code.  It is over 24 times longer than the King James version of the Bible at 608 pages. Over 11 times longer than War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy-1296 pages.  It’s 20 volumes are about 5 feet thick! Laying the pages end to end it would be over 2.5 miles  The average reader would take 31 days of non stop reading to read all of the tax codes.

How many pages in the Health Care Reform Bill?

Oh, wtf? Is nothing secret from anyone anymore.  Big Brother is right up your ass and you don’t even know it, unless you are a subscriber here of course!.

Touting the benefits of the new CDC tracking capabilities for H1N1 Swine flu-

The CDC also hopes its analysis of the data will help it better understand the characteristics of H1N1 outbreaks and determine who is most at risk for developing complications from the virus. Prior to implementing the new system, the CDC relied heavily on tracking insurance claims data, which could take days, if not weeks, to make its way to the agency’s medical staff for analysis.  via http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9140403/CDC_adopts_new_near_real_time_flu_tracking_system

So much for privacy.  Read How the government tracks you on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace from http://obambi.wordpress.com/2009/10/17/facebooktracking/

Americans won’t need a barcoded bracelet or an RFID tag especially if we have government-run health care.

Yesterdays commentary was about a huge undertaking by the FDA, and insurance companies ability to track prescriptions given to pregnant women-

A new research program called the Medication Exposure in Pregnancy Risk Evaluation Program (MEPREP) will fund research to study the effects of prescription medications used during pregnancy. The program is a collaboration among the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and researchers at the HMO Research Network Center for Education and Research in Therapeutics (CERT), Kaiser Permanente’s multiple research centers and Vanderbilt University.

Collectively, the 11 participating sites have health care information for about 1 million births over the past seven years (2001-2007). Many of the mothers associated with these births likely used medication during their pregnancies and now, with the program in place, the FDA and participating researchers have a systematic and timely way of retrieving information from this network.http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm1959

That is 11 million patient records out there for study and review and I bet my bottom dollar, that the patient’s history did not specifically express that the information was going to be gathered for analysis and held for years.

Read that fine line before signing where you authorize the physician or hospital to share your information.  Of course, if you want insurance you are going to sign- it’ll probably be just mandatory under government run health care.

Ring, ring.  ” Hi, this is Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed care organization in the United States and we’re conducting a study.  We were just wondering if those anti-depressant medications, antibiotics, and or cardiovascular medications you might have taken while you were pregnant gave your child birth defects or caused any perinatal problems?”

Many of the mothers associated with these births likely used medication during their pregnancies and now, with the program in place, the FDA and participating researchers have a systematic and timely way of retrieving information from this network. http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm195934.htm

Did any pregnant mom systematically give permission to have their data used in this study?  Was there “informed consent,” that prescription data could be used in future studies?  We realize this is probably just an aggregate of data from various clinics, but everyone of those patients has a name and now are being used by a group of researchers to evaluate perscriptions drugs taken while pregnant.  “In 2007, Kaiser it completed the four-year implementation of the Kaiser Permanenteprescriptions HealthConnect technology system, which standardizes technology across all locations.”  http://www.wetfeet.com/Employers/Kaiser-Permanente.aspx What perfect timing!

Will the study look at race, age, and socio-economic factors as well?  How much do you think they know about these women?  About the children?

Smoking, drinking, and drug abuse are on the list as no no’s, but why is it the FDA now only taking action?  Reading the small print on most medications, including the H1N1 Swine Flu vaccines patient inserts, “product may not be safe for use during pregnancy, benefits outweighing risks, etc.”

Why is it that the FDA is procuring this study as opposed to the pharmaceutical manufacturers themselves?  Oh, that’s right- many are already released from any liability from injury -as is the case with the H1N1 vaccines.  We have doubts that the outcome of this study will gain as much information as the government’s coordinated data effort which failed to reveal potential terrorists based on the events of 9-11, and as recently as on Christmas Day.

The stimulus package, officially the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, includes $8.2 billion in “extramural” NIH funding to help stimulate the U.S. economy by supporting scientific research.  Kaiser Permanente has won more than $54 million in federal stimulus funding to conduct research on many public and clinical health areas, including $25 million for genetic research in Northern California. http://sanfrancisco.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/stories/2009/10/12/daily1.html

Taking a conspiracy twist-

Financially influenced by Rockefeller’s leading petrochemical– pharmaceutical institutions, history shows these powerful “population planners” consistently working to manage global eugenics—the science of racial hygiene and “ethnic cleansing.”  Desperately seeking ways to control “excess populations,” how do you suppose they might magically disappear half of us now targeted for elimination?

Before your imagination runs wild considering my view of “Vaccine Magic,” consider Kaiser’s history with the Rockefeller family cooperatively pioneering “managed care” in America along with the Kaiser Institute for Eugenics, Anthropology, and Human Heredity in pre-Nazi Germany.  In essence, these contemporary powers spearheaded Hitler’s racial hygiene program, its genetic experiments for unnatural selection, and propaganda methods in advancing their “master race.” http://www.awakentothetruth.com/vaccine_magic_conspiracy.htm

“The Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Anthropology, Human Heredity, and Eugenics was founded in 1927. The Rockefeller Foundation supported both the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Psychiatry and the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Anthropology, Human Heredity and Eugenics. The Rockefeller Foundation partially funded the actual building of the Institute and helped keep the Institute afloat during the Depression. In its early years, and during the Nazi era, it was strongly associated with theories of Nazi eugenics and racial hygiene advocated by its leading theorists Fritz Lenz and Eugen Fischer, and by its director Otmar von Verschuer. Under Fischer, the sterilisation of so-called Rhineland Bastards was undertaken. During World War II, the Institute regularly received human body parts, including eyes and skulls, from Dr. Josef Mengele at Auschwitz to use in studies intended to prove Nazi racial theories and justify race-related social polices.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiser_Wilhelm_Institute_of_Anthropology,_Human_Heredity,_and_Eugenics

George Halvorson, the chief executive of one of the nation’s most respected health care systems, Kaiser Permanente, says he is hopeful that all the sausage-making in Washington will succeed in squeezing out a law….” lawmakers should support efforts to reward improvements in care for a handful of chronic conditions like asthma and heart failure, which affect millions of people and are some of the highest contributors to the nation’s health care bill. Tracking the care of those patients would be a good start, he said. “You don’t have to fix a lot of things.” http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09/22/kaiser-permanentes-chief-optimistic-about-health-overhaul-effort/

A handful of chronic conditions, eh?  Is being pregnant considered chronic.  Maybe for the Digger’s family!  Oh wait, how do drug companies make money if a patient doesn’t take them?  Could the underlying reason for this study really be linked back to The Kaiser Institute for Eugenics, Anthropology, and Human Heredity?

Could there be a link to other well known institutions? In 1904, the Carnegie Institution established a laboratory complex at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island that stockpiled millions of index cards on ordinary Americans, as researchers carefully plotted the removal of families, bloodlines and whole peoples.  Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2003/11/09/ING9C2QSKB1.DTL#ixzz0bfTKdKOR

As Christians around the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas, the United States government continues to battle abortion as part of the health care reform battle.

The way abortions are covered under health care reform is a major obstacle to finalizing the legislation, even though the House and Senate both agree that no federal money should be used.  The stumbling block is whether insurance plans that get federal money are completely barred from covering abortions, or whether they can cover it as long as they require customers to write separate checks for the procedure using their own money. …Abortions in the first trimester typically cost between $350 and $900, according to Planned Parenthood. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20091223/D9CP9T4O0.html.

Arguing over the sanctity of life at Christmas is asinine.  Go home already, and start over in the New Year.

At 7:16 a.m., the Senate passed on a 60-39 party line vote a sweeping health care bill that will tighten insurance regulations, provide insurance for 31 million more Americans and cost $871 billion over the next decade. “This is for my friend Ted Kennedy, aye,” said Sen. Robert Byrd as he cast his vote.  Clearly exhausted, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid mistakenly voted no before changing his vote to yes, which got a laugh in the chamber, especially from Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. via http://www.politico.com/livepulse/1209/BREAKING__Senate_passes_health_bill_.html

The Catholic bishops fired off another letter to the U.S. Senate last night urging opposition to the Democratic healthcare bill poised to pass tomorrow. Despite abortion funding restrictions that have provoked the ire of the leading abortion-rights groups, the bishops say the Senate bill still allows federal funding of abortion coverage and make clear they’ll accept nothing less than the House healthcare bill’s sweeping ban on federal abortion funding. via http://www.usnews.com/blogs/god-and-country/2009/12/23/catholic-bishops-still-opposed-to-senate-health-reform-bill.html

Only God knows what these buffoons will come up with behind closed doors with claims of transparency.  In a pork filled bill, shame on everyone of them who basically were bribed with federal money for their state as a means of convincing them to vote for this bill.  There is a investigation for everything else, let someone please investigate exactly who and which states will directly benefit.  Lumps of coal for them all from Santa.

Even the military has a problem with pregnancy. “Facing criticism over his order banning pregnancies for those in his command in Iraq, a U.S. general has backed off, slightly. While there are still reprimands issued for those violating the order, it does not appear there will be any courts-martial involved. http://www.huliq.com/3257/89902/us-general-defends-iraq-no-pregnancy-order .  Trillions in debt, 4200 dead soldiers 31000 wounded in Iraq, throw in Afghanistan and it just makes you sick.

Rob Yllescas was seriously injured while serving in Afghanistan.  Sadly, on December 1st, 2008 Rob passed away leaving his wife Dena, daughters Julia and Eva, and many other loving family members and friends. Her hair was up in a pony tail, her favorite dress tied with a bow. Today was Daddy’s Day at school, and she couldn’t wait to go. But her mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home Why the kids might not understand, if she went to school alone. But she was not afraid; she knew just what to say. What to tell her classmates of why he wasn’t there today. But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone. And that was why once again, she tried to keep her daughter home… But the little girl went to school eager to tell them all. About a dad she never sees a dad who never calls. There were daddies along the wall in back, for everyone to meet. Children squirming impatiently, anxious in their seats One by one the teacher called a student from the class. To introduce their daddy, as seconds slowly passed. At last the teacher called her name, every child turned to stare. Each of them was searching, a man who wasn’t there. ‘Where’s her daddy at?’ She heard a boy call out. ‘She probably doesn’t have one,’ another student dared to shout. And from somewhere near the back, she heard a daddy say, ‘Looks like another deadbeat dad, too busy to waste his day.’ The words did not offend her, as she smiled up at her Mom. And looked back at her teacher, who told her to go on. And with hands behind her back, slowly she began to speak. And out from the mouth of a child, came words incredibly unique. ‘My Daddy couldn’t be here, because he lives so far away. But I know he wishes he could be, since this is such a special day. And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know. All about my daddy, and how much he loves me so. He loved to tell me stories he taught me to ride my bike. He surprised me with pink roses, and taught me to fly a kite. We used to share fudge sundaes, and ice cream in a cone. And though you cannot see him. I’m not standing here alone. ‘Cause my daddy’s always with me, even though we are apart I know because he told me, he’ll forever be in my heart.’ With that, her little hand reached up, and lay across her chest. Feeling her own heartbeat, beneath her favorite dress. And from somewhere there in the crowd of dads, her mother stood in tears. Proudly watching her daughter, who was wise beyond her years. For she stood up for the love of a man not in her life. Doing what was best for her, doing what was right. And when she dropped her hand back down, staring straight into the crowd. She finished with a voice so soft, but its message clear and loud. ‘I love my daddy very much, he’s my shining star. And if he could, he’d be here, but heaven’s just too far. You see he is a Marine and died just this past year When a roadside bomb hit his convoy and taught Americans to fear. But sometimes when I close my eyes, it’s like he never went away’ And then she closed her eyes, and saw him there that day. And to her mother’s amazement, she witnessed with surprise. A room full of daddies and children, all starting to close their eyes. Who knows what they saw before them, who knows what they felt inside. Perhaps for merely a second, they saw him at her side. ‘I know you’re with me Daddy,’ to the silence she called out. And what happened next made believers, of those once filled with doubt. Not one in that room could explain it, for each of their eyes had been closed. But there on the desk beside her, was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose. And a child was blessed, if only for a moment, by the love of her shining star. And given the gift of believing, that heaven is never too far. —Author unknown

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/ lists the names of those who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Debates go on, the debt gets higher, soldiers are dying, people are starving, there are few jobs to be held, and many in America have no insurance.  Time to change the channel from C-Span and tune in to God.  In a Vatican first, Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate Christmas midnight mass two hours early, at 10:00 pm (1900 GMT) on Thursday. The Vatican is blaming it on his advanced age of 82, so he can get to bed a little earlier before the  Urbi et Orbi blessing, Christmas Day Mass.  You can watch it on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/vatican
