How can anyone figure out The Heath care Reform Bill when people can’t even figure out the Tax Code?

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is irked that nearly 100,000 civilian federal employees owe the IRS $962 million in back taxes. He thinks they should pay up or be fired. Chaffetz has introduced a bill that calls for the federal government to “ferret out” civilian employees who have “seriously delinquent tax debt” and prevent the hiring of other tax delinquents. More than 3 percent of the 2.8 million federal civilian employees owed the Treasury unpaid federal income taxes in 2008, according to the IRS. If you include retirees and military service members, the numbers go from nearly 100,000 up to 276,000 current or former workers who owe $3 billion in taxes. Obtained from the GPO- Government Printing Office, as of April 1st 2009, 14,872 pages of tax code. It is over 24 times longer than the King James version of the Bible at 608 pages. Over 11 times longer than War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy-1296 pages. It’s 20 volumes are about 5 feet thick! Laying the pages end to end it would be over 2.5 miles The average reader would take 31 days of non stop reading to read all of the tax codes.

How many pages in the Health Care Reform Bill?

It too runs more pages than War and Peace, has nearly five times as many words as the Torah, and its tables of contents alone run far longer than this story…it clocks in at 1,990 pages and about 400,000 words. With an estimated 10-year cost of $894 billion, that comes out to about $2.24 million per word….Republicans aide said a print-out of the bill weighs more than 19 pounds and stands nearly nine inches tall. North Carolina Republican Rep. Patrick McHenry, 34 years old and a few inches taller than 5 feet, said the bill could act as a ”booster seat.” …Asked why the House will vote on the roughly 400,000-word bill in a week when it takes a congregation a year to read the 80,000-word Torah at a synagogue, Rothman, who is Jewish, exhibited the wisdom of a Talmudic scholar.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and numerous other politicians can’t figure out the tax code. Do you really think regulators can find a way, let alone to comprehend it’s meaning to find a means of enforcement and overhaul of the health care reform bill?

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has yet to publish the impact of the passage of the health reform bill in full on its web page at http://www.cbo.gov/publications/bysubject.cfm?cat=9 The CBO and Joint Committee on Taxation (CT) did manage a five page preliminary estimate of spending and revenue effects at http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/113xx/doc11355/hr4872.pdf

The CBO and JTC read the entire 2,000 or so pages and managed to sum up the cost in five pages? Oh, bull crap and Director Douglas W. Elmendorf four-year term began on January 22, 2009 has admitted as much, saying:

Although CBO completed a preliminary review of legislative language prior to its release, the agency has not thoroughly examined the reconciliation proposal to verify its consistency with the previous draft. This estimate is therefore preliminary, pending a review of the language of the reconciliation proposal, as well as further review and refinement of the budgetary projections.

The reconciliation proposal includes provisions related to health care and revenues, many of which would amend H.R. 3590; those provisions account for most of the budgetary impact of the proposal. It also includes amendments to the Higher Education Act of 1965, which authorizes most federal programs involving postsecondary education; the education provisions account for net outlay savings of about $19 billion over the 2010-2019 period. http://cboblog.cbo.gov/?p=508

Even the CBO has not had time to read it, let alone calculate it’s cost. What happened to Obama promising transparency?

CNN and everyone but Fox claimed we were saving millions while reducing the deficit. You sure I can’t sell you and Easy Bake oven? It works, really!

Yes, there are millions of Americans who support health care reform, but almost all the polls we’ve seen show that the majority of Americans do not support this huge burden that is laden with pork and educational reform.

Folks, this is the same government that said, “Just get the damned vaccine.”

America’s spent $1.5 billion for the 250 million swine flu vaccines. We recommend reading the Bible instead of reading the tax or the healthcare bill; encouraging you to pray this bill fails to garner enough votes. As for Rep. Dennis Kucinich , D-Ohio (voted suck ass of the week by Ahrcanum) announced his House vote as a yes for believing in President Obama’s deluded vision that this bill works. He’ll be praying for a job come next election. So will a whole lot of other Democrats. Throw Louise Slaughter in the mix for proposing the “Slaughter Solution” while we’re at it. The Declaration of Independence is 1337 words long. The U.S. Constituion, that occupies four sheets of parchment has 4, 543 words. You ought to read it sometime to see how President Obama is destroying it.

Paying taxes is Patriotic?

Congress is considering a National Sales Tax called a Value Added Tax-VAT in some circles. Forget about repealing all the income taxes already collected, they are planning to keeping the existing income tax and add a national sales tax on top of it. How’s that for Patriotic?

Poor people who don’t make enough to make ends meet now will be forced to rely further on social services, further enhancing the debt and reliance on government. Socialism, pure and simple.

A commentator from the Say Anything Blog had this to say- http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/congress_considering_a_national_sales_tax/ that “Bush took 96 months to give us the largest debt in decades. Obama took 4 months to QUADRUPLE that.”

This is the change you can believe in. …”Everybody who understands our long-term budget problems understands we’re going to need a new source of revenue, and a VAT is an obvious candidate,” said Leonard Burman, co-director of the Tax Policy Center, a joint project of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, who testified on Capitol Hill this month about his own VAT plan. “It’s common to the rest of the world, and we don’t have it.”

I don’t have my armpits infested by the fleas of a thousand camels like some parts of the world either, but something stinks to high hell. I understand that our economy and the world’s economy are fragile, but a VAT on top of what we already pay? Somewhere in this VAT is an angle for government subsidized healthcare, I just know it. We are going to have to pay for the the Swine Flu Vaccine and Vaccine Stockpiles somehow, won’t we now? Doing away with an antiquated tax code that our own Secretary of Treasury apparently couldn’t figure out is one thing, but not repealing it and expecting tax revenue on top of that is just greed and a nasty power play on the part of our elected democratic office holders. Do they really want to be responsible for more burdens on the poor while they sit on the throne of power under the Obama reign?

I get that not everyone pays taxes and that not everyone qualifies but for those of us who do; for the government to even consider a VAT is just another nail in the coffin of capitalism. I am tired of scraping up the change off the floor to pay for President Obama’s proposed socialistic programs and endless bailouts. If I wanted to own a car company, I would have purchased the stock on Wall Street. I didn’t need a President to do it for me.
