Followers and friends know we are car aficionados. We have four vehicles between two adults.

The dream car, a 1969 Chevy Camaro is out of our price range- upward of $50k. Have this fun 1964 Ford woody wagon but just got a ticket for no brake lights. Can’t drive that til fixed. Not sure if it even came w brake lights. Doesn’t have rear seatbelts- kids freak out.

Have a Saturn SUV, named POS- piece of sh*t. Can’t find the dang keys. Really a sturdy thing, two people have rear ended it, one being me who slammed into spouses truck and the other being the spouse who rammed it into another truck. Lousy back visibility. Note do not park behind it. It’s the go to transportation for kids soccer, and sports, goes like a bat out of hell in the snow.

Then there is is the toy, a shiny red 20+ year old Corvette! Coming home from dinner blew a tie rod – maybe the whole flipping engine. Sounded like death, no power steering, no brakes n coasted down drive. Of course it rained so now soaking wet. Shoved the kids in one seat and they were flipping out- calmness by driver prevailed. Crap- the last of the operable autos.

Basically no transportation and it sucks. Nothing to pick up for dinner, no six pack, no nothing. Stuck.

So here we sit. Pizza man delivers. He’s from Mexico- came to USA on a work visa. One month and he has a car, a place to live and a job. He’s not driving to Mexico, he’s going to stay and bring his family here legally and become a US citizen, so he says. He’s driving a beater Honda and it runs. Jealous.

To Henry Ford and all the others who made and make cars, it isn’t really about the profit, (lol) it the freedom gained to travel this great nation. For that we would pay almost any price. To get to the grocery store, a run to Walmart, a trip to the dentist, a school drop off, a ride to work, a trip to the beach, a drive to church & grandma’s house – we need cars.

Dear Arab friends who ban women from driving, have y’all lost your mind? Fresh food daily, children doing what kids do, friendships, trust, freedom to come home because someone who loves you awaits you.

Needless to say we are country farmer bumpkins, no trains, no subways and it’s all good til no cars work. Hmm, think we could drive a tractor to the grocery?

Now where the hell are my keys and the number for the tow truck?

CNN is not reporting that President Obama’s poll numbers are dropping into negative territory, but Rasmussen is.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. That’s the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

The love affair with “That One,” seems to be ending.  The vision of Hope and Change he campaigned on, did not allude to emptying the change out of every citizen’s pocketbook.  President Obama’s negative numbers are like so many Americans personal finances- heading into negative territory and debt.

Rasmussen went on to say:

Most voters think health care reform is something the federal government should be addressing, but they don’t like the plan that’s working its way through Congress. In fact, only 41% support it now, marking the lowest extended period of support for the plan yet.   But President Obama and the Democrats who control Congress are pushing ahead on the unpopular health care legislation anyway.

The price of freedom isn’t free.  It is not an alienable right in America that a citizen gets necessities for free, and certainly not forever.  America was not founded upon being a welfare state, but that is exactly what we are becoming.  One thing you can’t call Obama, is a liar.  In conversation with Joe The Plumber, he told us exactly what his intentions were- to share the wealth, take us down a path to socialism and into a new world order.

CNN and the networks remain faithful in the love affair with the President.  He did just receive the Nobel Peace Prize, negotiate (without congressional authority I might add) a deal at the U.N. Climate Change meeting in Copenhagen, a speech on the economy pre-empting Charlie Brown, and reiterated our commitment to Afghanistan by offering another 30,000 U.S. troops.

With so much accomplished in one week, wouldn’t you think the trending numbers would be skyrocketing in his approval rating?  What is bad for the President is apparently good for Fox News.  Fox is seeing huge increase in ratings because many Americans do not like how, and where the President is leading the nation.   Are so many Americans coming to think like Rush Limbaugh in that they want him to fail so he will not be re-elected?  How will  this bode for the Republicans and conservatives next year?

Their is gross incompetence at the highest levels of government and our elected officials on both sides of the aisle aren’t doing the job we hired them to do. I also need to point out that I’m not promoting some type of carefree attitude either where you just throw your hands up in the sky and never get involved in politics. I’m simply suggesting that we need to take a step back and see government, politics, and the political debate for what it truly is an extension of the spiritual realm disguised as an entirely earthly body.http://www.lookupfellowship.com/2009/11/now-playing-order-out-of-chaos.html
Voters were misled that Obama, “That One,” was the One to lead us towards solving not only America but the world’s problem.  He is no Messiah, and heaven forbid if the current health care reform bill passes.  Likely, there are more words in it than in the Bible.  The Bible being the best selling book on earth is also the one book that most people have never read and like the bill, most won’t read every word of it either.

Thinking about the Bible, it would appear God’s polling numbers are up.  For most Americans, the December holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year.  According to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 52% consider the holidays joyous, a five-point jump in joy since last year at this time.

The vast majority (86%) of Americans say they will be celebrating Christmas this year. Four percent (4%) will observe Hanukkah, three percent (3%) will celebrate Winter Solstice or Yule, and one percent (1%) will take part in some other religious observance.

In the meantime, The White House will be mailing Holiday Cards, rather than Christmas Cards.

I wonder if anyone at the White House will remember these images for use in the holiday cards from the leader of the free world, and current resident at the White House?

Just when you think you have seen and heard it all.

newsmax

John Perry Newsmax wrote an article that suggested a military coup to overthrow President Obama was a real possibility.

The article has since disappeared from the Newsmax site but here it is :

Obama Risks a Domestic Military ‘Intervention’

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 10:35 AMBy: John L. Perry
There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic. America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:

Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”

  • Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.
  •  They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.
  •  They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.
  •  They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.
  •  They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag.
  •  They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.
  •  They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.
  •  So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?

Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?

What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?

Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?

Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.

  • Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”

In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.

I clearly understand the intent of the author is to say he and many members of the military do not agree with President Obama’s policies and seek an alternative to the direction our country is heading.  So do a lot of people.  While The President’s poll numbers are slipping, to suggest a domestic military intervention could happen is wrong- but it is the author’s opinion.

Should the article have been removed?

    I don’t think so.

While I defend the office of President and disagree with his politics, he is The Commander and Chief of the greatest nation on earth and is still deserving of the respect of the office.

Perry wrote “So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?”  We say, you take orders and do as you are told. Period.  You do not attempt to overthrow government and oust President Obama- that is the voters job!   Suggesting an uprising is degrading to the military personnel who fight the current wars and is equally offensive to veterans.

You think those soldiers who went to Vietnam totally agreed with American policy at the time?

The article should stand as a reminder to freedom of speech and Perry’s opinion. Removing it is censorship and curtailing freedom of the press.  I don’t have to agree or disagree, but I can sure as $hit flip to a new web site in a matter of seconds.

I’d like to turn off health care reform, ACORN, the Olympic endeavor and other Obama propaganda with a wave of the wand (and Katie Couric too), instead we rant about politics and life here,  just like Perry does on Newsmax.  While we do not suggest a military over throw, we also hope no one decides to remove and delete our posts either.

unclesamwarPardon me, but wake the fu(k up.  We are at war and the Obama Administration is busy signing tobacco legislation giving the government control over yet another industry.  Arggh.

In an interview broadcast on Monday evening by CBS, Mr. Obama said: “This administration – and our military – is fully prepared for any contingencies.”

The North Korean regime said last week that it could fire a missile toward Hawaii on or shortly after July 4, which is U.S. Independence Day. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/5600854/Barack-Obama-US-fully-prepared-for-North-Korea-missile-launch.html

Unacceptable fireworks, to say the least.  North Korea test-fired a similar long-range missile on July 4, 2000 but it failed just seconds after liftoff.

The Homeland Security Advisory System is designed to guide our protective measures when specific information to a particular sector or geographic region is received.  It remains at high or orange with two more levels to go until the shit would really hit the fan. Don’t you feel secure?  http://www.dhs.gov/xinfoshare/programs/Copy_of_press_release_0046.shtm  Meanwhile a flu pandemic has been declared by WHO .

What does it take to raise the threat level in the U.S.? North Korea is ready to launch a missile toward Hawaii or Alaska, Iran is out of control, Swine Flu is spreading with the UK Telegraph reporting half the population could be infected and yet,  our threat level remains the same.  This isn’t Halloween and Orange should not be the flavor of the day for American’s safety.

    nkoreato hawaii

22 June 2009 07:00 GMT, the breakdown of the number of laboratory-confirmed cases is given in the following table and map from http://www.pandemicflu.gov/ updated today shows more than 52,000 cases with nearly half of them occurring in the U.S.  http://sharing.govdelivery.com/bulletins/GD/USHHS-7BCC3.  A report from Canada has the total confirmed cases at 6,457. http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2009-06/23/content_11586485.htm

Borders open, business as usual for most except in Hawaii where the deployment of Theatre High Altitude Area Defense- http://www.army-technology.com/projects/thaad/  weaponry for “support” in case of a North Korean launch, is somewhere out to sea.  Yeah, that’s business as usual. No reason for a threat level increase?

THAAD weapons, coupled with a radar system nearby, are designed to shoot down ballistic missiles.  Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), formerly Theater High Altitude Area Defense, is a United States Army project to develop a system to shoot down short- and medium-range ballistic missiles using a hit-to-kill approach. The missile carries no warhead but relies on the kinetic energy of the impact. THAAD was designed to hit Scuds and similar weapons, but also has a limited capability against ICBMs. http://chrisabraham.com/2009/06/21/links-for-2009-06-21/ What if North Korea’s missile has a nuclear war head on it?  One might shoot it down, but does the nuclear warhead explode anyways killing millions in radio active poison?

Ground-based defenses in the state of Alaska are also ready, Mr Gates said in The Telegraph article.  Meanwhile, a US navy destroyer, the John S. McCain, has been tracking a North Korean ship that has been previously linked to illicit missile-related cargo, according to US defense officials.

State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said about North Korea last week, “We will be continuing to do everything we can to really put pressure on their military capability”, and “if there are miscalculations, they will be by the other side, he emphasized:”I think that’s why we are concerned about the North Korea provocations, that at some point they might, in fact, do something intentionally or unintentionally that sparks a larger crisis.””That is why,” he added, “we have repeatedly condemned the actions that they’ve taken as being irresponsible, provocative, but also dangerous.”http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/06/22/nearly-60-years-after-the-war-north-korea-still-playing-danger/

Well thanks for condemning the actions of a rogue government.  I feel so much better. And O- say it isn’t so, ” The Obama administration cut funding for missile interceptors scheduled to be deployed. Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), the ranking member of the Committee’s Strategic Forces Subcommittee, offered an amendment to restore $120 million in funding to allow the Department of Defense to continue fielding 44 interceptors and complete construction of Missile Field 2 in Alaska.” http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/under-the-radar-dems-inexplicably-block-missile-defense/

    Denied by House Democrats.

What am I doing about it?  Assuming there are no miscalculations and there is enough money to blast North Korea’s weapon- we are praying, drinking, swimming….enjoying the freedoms afforded to me that so many have died for.  Smoke ’em while you got em.

Oh yeah, we’re washing our hands to avoid the flu- as if it matters.

In a further display of disgust, President Obama has bowed before the king and it wasn’t Elvis.  He met the so-called king who governs Saudi Arabia – the historical seat of Islam, where the most basic of human freedoms don’t exist.

Maybe it has something to do with the rumors that Mr. Barack Hussein Obama’s Harvard education was arranged and funded by the Saudi’s old pal Khalid as Mansour, an Islamist with deep ties to the Saudi royal family.

Reality is we need the Saudi’s help for America’s finance and security in the world.

It is just gross that Obama kissed the ring of  a man who heads a nation who believes in the same repressive Islamic sharia law that makes ownership of woman and rape acceptable. http://www.islamic-sharia.org/

Obama named Iranian born, Valerie Jarrett as the head of the newly formed White House Council on Women and Girls.  Jarret was a senior adviser to Obama’s presidential campaign and a member of his finance committee, and also the chief executive of Habitat Co., which managed Grove Parc Plaza that was apparently was seized 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems.

Obama did not bow to The Queen of England.   He does apparently bow to Jarret.

The Saudi’s have oil, America has freedom- at least so far.

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”  Ezekiel 25:17 and Pulp Fiction.

Addendum 4.4.09- The new Saudi king has ordered citizens not to kiss his hand, saying the traditional gesture of respect is degrading and violates Islam.

“Kissing hands is alien to our values and morals, and is not accepted by free and noble souls,” Abdullah told a delegation from Baha, in southwest Saudi Arabia, which came to the royal palace to offer congratulations on his accession. “It also leads to bowing, which is a violation of God’s law. The faithful bow to no one but God.”  from http://www.theodoresworld.net/archives/2009/04/obama_bows_to_saudi_king.html

Ladies and Gentleman, please remain in the upright and seated position ….

District Court, Judge Ricardo Urbina wants to release 17 Chinese Muslim detainees at Guantanamo, who are not Americans. “The decision is momentarily stayed while the Government appeals  “He reasoned, despite the fact that the Uighur’s are non-Americans held outside the United States, that they are vested by the United States Constitution with a right against indefinite detention.  The government has been trying to find a country that (a) will take them and (b) will not persecute them.  Where in the Constitution it says these aliens have a right to enter the United States and live among our population is not clear.  http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MDcyNWRiYmFkM2RjMWYxNjA5MzM4YjI5YmNlMTc3NDk= Full report from http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/10/07/ST2008100702270.html  The government cleared another 60 people in cleaning the Gitmo house but unlike the others- the Uighurs were reportedly trained at camps sponsored by the East Turkistan Islamic Movement, a group that the Bush administration designated a terrorist organization AFTER the men were detained, the lawyers have argued and thus would be certainly subject to horrors in their own homeland and sending them back would certainly be cruel and unusual.

Cruel and unusual?  Staying in Gitmo, going home or going free?  The government apparently provided no proof that they were enemy combatants or security risks in the first place, even after SEVEN YEARS in captivity.  They were never charged with any crime in the first place, only held in suspicion.  Is the American Justice System providing justice in interpreting the constitution to allow their release or providing a president to allow other prisoners freedom?

SEVEN Years is a long time in the fight for a fair trial.  And for what crime?  Reading the rules of the constitution, I’d say we( and them)  are all vested against indefinite detention.  Charge them with something already, have a trial and be done.  Or let them go.  Whether they are guilty or not, the hatred of America must be paramount after Seven years in captitity,  so much so that if they were released- they might just jaywalk, spit or complain they might get arrested again.

“The United States has made extensive and high-level efforts over a period of four years to try to resettle the Uighurs in countries around the world,” the State Department’s legal adviser, John B. Bellinger III, said in an interview. Its lack of success, he added, “has not been for lack of trying.  ”Published: June 10, 2007 in an article “Chinese Leave Guantánamo for Albanian Limbo” where four Guantanamo Detainees were released into Albania.   http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/10/world/europe/10resettle.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

Even E.T. got to phone and go home.
