Not only are the Republicans tired of the Barack-Star phenomenon, the Democrats are coming out of their comas to put halt on his ruinous ideologies.

Michael Steele head of the Republican National Committee had this to say,  “The era of apologizing for Republican mistakes of the past is now officially over,”  “The second turning point for our party is this. We are going to take the president head-on. The honeymoon is over,” he said, addressing President Barack Obama’s popularity, an “Obama phenomenon” which the GOP should no longer fear. “The two-party system is making a comeback, and that comeback starts today.” props to http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/05/michael_steele_honeymoon_is_ov.html

As the RNC leader, these thoughts should have been among his first statements- on his first day on the job.  Now Steele is whining that he wants more control over how money is spent, telling Fox News that part of his job is to “manage the money” and suggested that if committee members strip him of that authority he’ll step aside. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/19/steele-threatens-quit-rnc-undermines-funding-authority/  I’d say don’t let the door hit him in the ass, but who would take his place?  The RNC couldn’t pay Rush Limbaugh enough, unless of course he’d do it for a $1.

On Wednesday, RNC state chairmen will vote on the funding issue, among others — such as whether to label the Democratic Party “Socialist.”  Joe The Plumber said it for us all; no need to make it official.

The two party system elected, ” That One,” and we all have to deal with his acts as President.  While we are no where near the end of the tunnel of Obama’s reign, the Democrats it would seem are going to give him a little run for his money.  At least a few Democratic elected officials are seeing Obama’s dreams can easily be turned into nightmares.

Obama’s first act as President was signing  the Executive Order mandating that the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay be closed in one year.  With four months gone Obama still insists that he will close the state of the art detention facility on time but still has no plan on what to do with detainees.

Politico said http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0509/22677.html “In a clear setback for President Barack Obama, Senate Democrats moved Tuesday to both wipe out $80 million in new funding for the closing the Guantanamo detention facility and bar the administration from moving prisoners to U.S. soil until there is a more detailed plan provided to lawmakers. Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) confirmed the decision, which follows intense pressure from Republicans going into debate over a $91.3 billion wartime spending bill expected to come to the floor late Tuesday.

“We’ll wipe out all the money,” Inouye said, “And I’ll put in a provision that says none of the funds in this bill or any other bill can be used to pay for the transfer of detainees from Guantanamo to the United States.”

“We will never allow terrorists to be released in the United States.” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV)

“Obama hasn’t done us any favors on this,” said one Democratic leadership aide. “He’s a little of this, a little of that. The Republicans have one compelling message.”  Perhaps the message from all the tea  parties across the nation are finally getting through to the Senate.  A little of this, and a little of that, is eroding American capitalism.

Republicans like House Leader John Boehner from Ohio and Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky put the roadblock to the Obama insanity. “It was the opposition they organized among their members which gave Democrats up for re-election in 2010 the willies.” says http://mikesamerica.blogspot.com/2009/05/victory-for-republicans-democrats.html

If nothing else this serves as a warning to Obama that being President is not like being the American Idol winner.  He may have won the vote but the public is fickle.  Americans, rich or poor are tired of spending money on pork and projects that have no plan.  Finally someone in the Senate had enough balls to say the same.

Score one for the GOP!

Ladies and Gentleman, please remain in the upright and seated position ….

District Court, Judge Ricardo Urbina wants to release 17 Chinese Muslim detainees at Guantanamo, who are not Americans. “The decision is momentarily stayed while the Government appeals  “He reasoned, despite the fact that the Uighur’s are non-Americans held outside the United States, that they are vested by the United States Constitution with a right against indefinite detention.  The government has been trying to find a country that (a) will take them and (b) will not persecute them.  Where in the Constitution it says these aliens have a right to enter the United States and live among our population is not clear.  http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MDcyNWRiYmFkM2RjMWYxNjA5MzM4YjI5YmNlMTc3NDk= Full report from http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/10/07/ST2008100702270.html  The government cleared another 60 people in cleaning the Gitmo house but unlike the others- the Uighurs were reportedly trained at camps sponsored by the East Turkistan Islamic Movement, a group that the Bush administration designated a terrorist organization AFTER the men were detained, the lawyers have argued and thus would be certainly subject to horrors in their own homeland and sending them back would certainly be cruel and unusual.

Cruel and unusual?  Staying in Gitmo, going home or going free?  The government apparently provided no proof that they were enemy combatants or security risks in the first place, even after SEVEN YEARS in captivity.  They were never charged with any crime in the first place, only held in suspicion.  Is the American Justice System providing justice in interpreting the constitution to allow their release or providing a president to allow other prisoners freedom?

SEVEN Years is a long time in the fight for a fair trial.  And for what crime?  Reading the rules of the constitution, I’d say we( and them)  are all vested against indefinite detention.  Charge them with something already, have a trial and be done.  Or let them go.  Whether they are guilty or not, the hatred of America must be paramount after Seven years in captitity,  so much so that if they were released- they might just jaywalk, spit or complain they might get arrested again.

“The United States has made extensive and high-level efforts over a period of four years to try to resettle the Uighurs in countries around the world,” the State Department’s legal adviser, John B. Bellinger III, said in an interview. Its lack of success, he added, “has not been for lack of trying.  ”Published: June 10, 2007 in an article “Chinese Leave Guantánamo for Albanian Limbo” where four Guantanamo Detainees were released into Albania.   http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/10/world/europe/10resettle.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

Even E.T. got to phone and go home.
