Oh the hilarity of calling it a compromise stimulus package.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan report is about 778 pages of political wrangling and the public has only been given about 24 hours to review it before a final vote.

Where is the damned Generational Theft Act that the Congressional Budget Office has referred to as, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan?  I’d like to read every last page.  It sure as hell is not on the White House web pages, as it states, “The President remains committed to bringing more transparency to government, and in this spirit the White House will continue to publish legislation expected to come to his desk on line for public comment as it moves through Congress.”    http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/OfficialStatements/

President Obama resolutely promised change and transparency indicating that,  “Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.  Key word here- NON EMERGENCY.  http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog_post/update_on_sunlight_before_signing/ This is an emergency if ever there was one. One trillion tomorrow, two trillion the next day, defines emergency in my dictionary.

The White House blog itself was just updated after three three days of inactivity. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog_post/first_flights/  features his first trip on Air Force One and highlights his Democratic Caucus trip saying, “We have to accommodate the interests of a range of people.  And the House is going to have to work with the Senate.  But let’s think big right now.  Let’s not think small.”  What I am thinking is big government sucks.

Published on line by the Library of Congress, parts of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan are available at Open Congress http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h1/show .  Have fun reading through all the 481 amendments proposed.

Relying on Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) at his  site  http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=RightNow.Home&ContentRecord_id=3db704c6-802a-23ad-406c-a424db591389  you’ll find a fistful of wasteful and Non-Stimulus Spending Provisions.

I’d rather stand in the unemployment line for five more days than have this rushed through legislation and not put it out there for us little people- the tax payer to look at.  I want to know who exactly proposed spending $75 million for “smoking cessation activities,  $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI and the $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction just to name a few.  C’mon, who?  What gall.

There are a whole host of concerns that we all have but now is not the time to worry about stop smoking and drinking.

Show me the money honey and while I’m thinking about it, why in the sam hell does  The President have time to write an Op-Ed piece for Wa-Po?  Is there nothing else he could be doing than taking the time for this?  Like giving orders to post the damned “plans” on the website before he signs them?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/04/AR2009020403174.html?hpid=opinionsbox1

That’s the way to create consumer confidence, write about how “this recession might linger for years.”  We are indeed a desperate nation when we allocate millions for pork barrel projects and earmarks that do nothing.  Obama is doing something alright, he will be addressing the nation on prime time TV tonight. https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/02/08/obama-prime-time-vision/

In the meantime so as not to confuse billions and trillions of of dollars between two pieces of legislation, “With the administration making a full court press to get the economic stimulus package through Congress, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is delaying his plans to spell out details of the upcoming bank rescue plan, now dubbed the Financial Stability and Recovery Plan.” http://www.thedeal.com/dealscape/2009/02/geithner_puts_banking_rescue_p.php

Geithner’s new plan appears designed to stem the government’s up-front costs to the federal budget but could nevertheless expose taxpayers to as much as $2 trillion more in potential obligations to the financial industry.

I’d like to read the Financial Stability and Recovery Plan before it goes into law too, but even Open Congress doesn’t provide this.

Might as well turn in my conservative blogger badge now and say hello to government controlled capitalism as we allocate nearly three trillion dollars in three days.

Lol, ain’t nothing funny about it.

The stimulus bailout money does not immediately stimulate anything except my blood pressure.

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) introduced an amendment to prohibit any funds in the economic stimulus bill from going to museums, theaters, or arts centers among other things.  http://www.ruthulrich.com/?p=274 has the whole rundown on what should be off limits for a stimulus and most of it makes sense.

The language of the amendment against what Coburn calls the Generational Theft Act , (Amendment No. 175, as filed) is in part that, “None of the amounts appropriated or otherwise made available by this Act may be used for any casino or other gambling establishment, aquarium, zoo, golf course, swimming pool, stadium, community park, museum, theater, arts center, or highway beautification project, including renovation, remodeling, construction, salaries, furniture, zero-gravity chairs, big screen televisions, beautification, rotating pastel lights, and dry heat saunas.”

People just don’t seem to get it as “What bothers me is that museums, arts centers, and theaters are lumped in with casinos, swimming pools, rotating pastel lights, and zero-gravity chairs.  What in the holy living hell is the relation between the arts and a highway beautification project?” asks  http://klacknermusic.wordpress.com/   The relationship is simple, it does not stimulate the economy immediately and having a job, food and a place to live usurps everything else.

Who can support this spending of invisible money that will come from our children’s children to benefit a politician sitting in a brand new cushy chair?  Apparently Nancy Pelosi.  People are standing in food lines for heaven’s sake.   Welcome to the American dream in high reverse- Lehigh Acres Florida and hundreds of other cities where no one gives a rats ass about a new community park, museum, theater, arts center, right now.  Highlighted in http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/08/us/08lehigh.html?_r=1&em&exprod=myyahoo  People need private sector jobs and it is the private sector that needs the loans to stimulate the economy.

Coburn says “The fundamental problem with this bill is that it fails to address the root problem, which continues to be toxic assets in the mortgage market. The bill also includes a reckless bailout to states that would effectively nationalize state governments….“The bill also contains numerous provisions that are about stimulating long-frustrated ideological agendas rather than the economy….the American people will be nauseated by the numerous and shameless.

In a WSJ article, Coburn wrote, “What is not in the bill is as troubling as what is. The package does nothing to clear the toxic assets and bad mortgages that helped trigger the credit crisis. It also contains very little meaningful tax relief to make small businesses and American companies more competitive. Instead, the tax provisions of the stimulus are essentially a modest cash handout that repeats the failed policy of George W. Bush’s rebate-check stimulus.”  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123371083449746103.html?mod=rss_opinion_main

I want Ross Perot to come out of the woodwork and help fix Pelosi’s posturing around like a chicken who just laid the golden egg.  Perot tried to gave heads up years ago- warning of the sucking sound of jobs from NAFTA among other things. No wonder he buried his head back in the private sector so as not to have to breath the same stale hot air that has been expelled in the beltway for years.

Government controlled capitalism is spelled socialism and at the very least Coburn appears to be try to rein in the wild spending spree. Visit his  site  http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=RightNow.Home&ContentRecord_id=3db704c6-802a-23ad-406c-a424db591389  where you’ll find more wasteful and Non-Stimulus Spending Provisions like-

• $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power plant in Illinois that the Dept. of Energy defended last year because the project was inefficient
• A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film
• $650 million for the digital television (DTV) converter box coupon program
• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship)
• $448 million for constructing the Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
• $248 million for furniture at the new Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees
• $400 million for the CDC to screen and prevent STD’s
• $1.4 billion for a rural waste disposal programs
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities
• $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion
• $75 million for “smoking cessation activities”
• $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges
• $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI
• $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction
• $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas
• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into “green” buildings
• $500 million for state and local fire stations
• $650 million for wildland fire management on Forest Service lands
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities
• $1.2 billion for “youth activities,” including youth summer job programs

• $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service
• $412 million for CDC buildings and property
• $500 million for building and repairing NIH facilities in Bethesda, MD
• $160 million for “paid volunteers” at the Corporation for National and Community Service
• $5.5 million for “energy efficiency initiatives” at the VA “National Cemetery Administration”
• $850 million for Amtrak
• $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint
• $75M to construct a new “security training” facility for State Dept Security officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
• $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems
• $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.
• State Medicaid Bailout: $87.7 billion Through 3 different mechanisms, the bill would provide additional federal funds to state Medicaid programs over the next 3 years. This is nearly $70 billion more than the governors asked President Obama for in December, and should be a loan to be repaid by the states.

Who knew democratic socialism was going to be so damned expensive?

As part of the transparency in government, Obama is demanding free prime time TV space.  Monday he’s holding a press conference that is expected to last an hour and then the following Monday, a stimulus push right down our throats.  Last but not least, the State of the Union Address is on Tuesday, February 24.

Having spent the better part of the week watching the Senate battle for my stimulus dollars on Fox, CNN and C-SPAN, I am hardly excited at the prospects of looking forward to seeing President Obama the next 3 three weeks in a row during prime time TV. The news cycle is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Prime time is America’s time to be entertained, to watch House, American Idol, or some other mindless show to not have to think about the economy or news.   To sit on the couch with the family, crack a smile, veg, and relax after dinner.

The networks must be pissed at the amount of advertising revenue that will be lost.  Can’t anyone just say no to O?  I imagine the wrath of deciding not to air Obamavision might include an avoidance of reporters questions.  ABC is probably on the shit list anyways based on the bantering over a tough question recently with Robert Gibbs, the White House communications director.  ABC was also apparently thrown for a loop at the request for free TV time, and still can’t decide what shows to put on after, saying “to be announced.” http://www.tvguide.com/Listings/Default.aspx .

What could Obama tell me that I don’t already know?  This isn’t the campaign trail, and the trail of the House and Senate Stimulus Bills stinks to hell.  The last time Obama was on TV this for this long, he actually paid for the TV time  in a half-hour commercial and sort of mini-documentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtREqAmLsoA

Imagine that stimulus to the economy- paying for the TV Time; not demanding it and costing the networks millions.  The McCain campaign response from spokesman Tucker Bounds: “As anyone who has bought anything from an infomercial knows, the sales-job is always better than the product. Buyer beware.”

Is he going to remind me that money was removed that was earmarked for the water parks?  Is he going to tell me why a ruling dismissing without prejudice all charges against Saudi national Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri was issued, potentially freeing the U.S.S. Cole mastermind bomber from Guantanamo?  What, so we can find him and try him again later?  What could President Obama possibly tell me that demands Prime Time TV?

Obama is not The Great Communicator.   All physical differences aside, Reagan, even when delivering bad news found the words to sooth and projected light at the end of the tunnel.  Obama on the other hand, seems to like hearing himself talk and can’t seem to do that well unless the TelePrompter is rolling.  Reagan said, “Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation.  You will have opportunities beyond anything we’ve ever known.”

Just weeks into his Presidency, Obama most memorable statement, “I screwed up.”  In the coming weeks of prime time TV, I hope he has something better to say.

As I’ve posted before, have we totally lost our minds regarding bailouts, stimulus packages and the conversion of the dollar to the Amero or something else?  https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2008/10/02/bailout-in-usd-or-amero/#comments

Almost ONE TRILLION DOLLARS for a stimulus?  How much wood can a wood chuck chuck to turn it in to paper money?

There is no money shortage, we just print more.  Kind of like the Blondie who didn’t notice the gas cost increase.  She just kept adding $10 every time the tank was on empty.  Seeing as our Treasury has lost around $73 billion and the Senate is about to authorizing spending $800 billion,  before all hell breaks loose we better wakie uppie to the chance that the US dollar just like capitalism, might be a thing of the past.

For an interesting peek at currency check out http://www.wisebread.com/local-currencies

There is lots of gossip about the new North-American currency “Amero” which would, as people say, come to replace Canadian and American dollars together with Mexican peso and would become one and only currency in North America. Some photos of actual Amero bills and coins appeared on different near world-conspiracy blogs and you tube channels like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H65f3q_Lm9U&eurl which features Lou Dobbs.

Don’ t kid yourself in to believing that there is no partnership already underway between Mexico, the U.S. and Canada.  As much as I love a conspiracy theory, the The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) exists and you can see it here  www.spp.gov . President Bush, Prime Minister Harper and President Fox got together to enhance security and prosperity for all!  Hurray for all for one and one for all.  The SPP is a trilateral partnership provides the framework to ensure that North America is the safest and best place to live and do business!

Translation- Obama’s “buy American” bailout provision could not be included in the stimulus if the Amero or any other dollarization was to have any chance of working.  You know – keep the borders closed to terrorism yet open to trade, money, immigrants, drugs, oil, etc.

Well, in Russia they stepped bit further and think that the currency would be called not Amero but Lunaro, or Lunar if to be exact, and probably it would replace not only Northern American currencies but all currencies on Earth and even, probably, on Moon. That’s what they call the real New World Order.   For more versions of the lunar currency check out –  http://englishrussia.com/?p=2210

For another alternative; The Liberty Dollar is private, inflation proof currency that is devoid of debt. It’s a currency of the people, for the people, and by the people.  http://www.libertydollar.org/

And for all the Obamabot supporters, check here for a not yet released Obama $100 bill.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/dimples2/3005160116/  Maybe rather than call the Amero, it will be called the Omero since the faith of the electorate is what got Obama elected.

http://www.wisebread.com/local-currencies has some more listings of currency and barter.  And Ted has an overview of dollarization, all be it almost 10 years old but it remains poignant still.  http://www.american.edu/TED/dollar.htm

The pattern is clear: governments that respond to a crisis created by free-market ideology with an acceleration of that same discredited agenda will not survive to tell the tale says Naomi Klein at http://www.alternet.org/workplace/125566/naomi_klein%3A_public_revolt_builds_against_rip-off_rescue_plans_for_the_economy/?page=entire

Let’s hope the dollar and the economy survives.  While we wait to see what’s ahead, Ahrcanum spends and earns U.S. Treasury backed dollars.

Incidentally, the Senate does not  appear to know if it signed a$780 billion or $826 billion stimulus package.   http://jerseynut.blogspot.com/2009/02/so-exactly-how-big-is-stimulus-bill.html  OMG and WTF? Another $40 billion or so that just seems to vanish into thin air.

US President George W. Bush said in an interview Tuesday he was forced to sacrifice free market principles to save the economy from “collapse.”  http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jyyKrPjYt7VhpS8G8DrRkr18B0hA

Did that shoe really hit Bush in the head for him to make such a statement asks http://flapsblog.com/2008/12/16/did-the-iraqi-journalists-shoe-really-hit-george-w-bush-in-the-head/.  Venezuela’s, Chavez went so far as to applaud the shoe throwing action.

Students of economics might argue that governments propping up of the economy is socialism, it is another thing to have your president say it out right.

How to solve the problem is not making statements like that in the first place.  It shows our vulnerability, that we are defeated and weak.  That we need to be rescued.  With every last breath, he should have defended that capitalism works and this “abandonment” is a temporary fix, but he didn’t.  Bush it seems, told the truth that America is heading for a North American Union and a New Global Financial Order.

America could be ready to be pounced upon with Russians heading to Cuba for war games, and the Middle East, Russia, China all have nuclear capability aimed.  http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=081215151217.gl11u87v&show_article=1  Putin blamed the US for the cause of the global financial meltdown in the first place and so did Brown.  You think Russia wants to get even?  Remember The Cuban Missile Crisis?

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called for a New Global Financial Order that would increase the adoption of trade treaties and increase the role of the International Monetary Fund in offering credit on the same scale as after World War Two.  “Now we have to create the institutions that are relevant not for national or sheltered economies but for global economies with global capital movements and competition.”  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financetopics/financialcrisis/3202056/Gordon-Brown-urges-EU-to-rebuild-global-financial-institutions.html  Brown went further to say, “To make sure that the problems that developed in the financial system, problems that we know started in America, that these problems do not return again.”

Maybe these problems started with the International Monetary Fund, The United Nations, the World Bank in the first place.  Wouldn’t those in the most powerful of positions have the most to gain?  Who is going to purchase distressed assets?  Russia, China and the Gulf oil states that’s who.  America is for sale.

Liberals would want us to butt out, Obama wants to throw more money at the problems while Republicans want to end the bailouts.  Is it all one step closer to a North American Union and a One World Order?

“George, you weren’t forced to do it. You wanted to do it. You want to dissolve the sovereignty of the United States and become part of the one-world government. You did this by choice, George, and we know it!” says Bruce Tyson at http://word.truthintheword.org/archives/2277

Lest we forget, the US Federal Government has been dissolved by the Emergency Banking Act, March 9, 1933. 48 Stat .1,  Public Law 89-719; declared by President Roosevelt being bankrupt and insolvent.  H.J.R. 192, 73rd Congress session June 5, 1933. http://tucnak.fsv.cuni.cz/~calda/Documents/1930s/EmergBank_1933.html  Roosevelt also issued Executive Order 6102, requiring all private gold be turned in for paper money at face value.

The Wall Street Journal says, “President-elect Barack Obama’s economic team is considering an economic-stimulus program that will be far larger than the two-year, half-trillion-dollar plan under consideration two weeks ago, according to people familiar with the team’s thinking.” http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122913735606103803.html While all of Obama’s projects are under debate, That One is taking his family on a two week vacation to Hawaii for the Christmas Holiday.  I’d call that irresponsible, and just who is footing the bill?

Obama, like Bush, has pledged to cooperate with the UN to institute a global tax in support of the Millennium Development Task Force goals. http://www.usasurvival.org/docs/Obama_NWO.pdf  seemly a further erosion of our sovereignty.

…” the producing economy of people who work for a living simply can no longer generate enough purchasing power for people either to pay their debts or allow them to purchase what is being sold in the marketplace. In turn it is the debt burden and the loss of societal purchasing power that are crashing the stock market. Thus the collapse of the financial economy has started to destroy the producing economy as well.” http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=9596 David Cook calls our current condition,a “perfect storm,” and that efforts to help the economy are merely, “band-aids on band-aids.  On the extreme, he also believes we are witness to not only the collapse of the U.S. , but more than likely the final crash of Western civilization.

For now, the treasury must be burning up the trees of the rain forest in printing so much money.  Where are all the environmentalists when you need them?   What of complete social destabilization?  What do you do with millions of homeless, out of work people?  Maybe Bush wasn’t so far off base in putting the Army on active duty on US Soil. https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/militarization-of-america-a-state-of-emergency/

At the far end of the spectrum, “Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper purpose.  Garden Plot is the program  to control the populations.  Cable Splicer is the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments .  FEMA is the executive arm of the coming police state and will head up all operations.  The Presidential Executive Orders already listed on the Federal Register also are part of the legal framework for this operation.” writes http://www.freedomfiles.org/war/fema.htm

What if the rumors of FEMA camps aren’t rumors?  For a potential list of sites go here http://www.rense.com/general17/statebystate.htm.  And for more discussions with video of alleged camps go here  http://www.apfn.org/apfn/camps.htm .

In the Main Stream Media, The SanFranciso Gate  http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/02/04/ED5OUPQJ7.DTL says that, “Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States. The government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of rail cars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees. According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of “all removable aliens” and “potential terrorists.”

http://justanothercoverup.com/?p=356 goes into further detail why there appears to be a large scale press cover up.  The Press? Yes the press- the same people like the LA Times who refused to release a tape of Obama at a dinner and just this week reported Obama not guilty of selling his Senate seat in the Blagojevich looming scandal.  Last I heard from Patrick Fitzgerald the case was under investigation.

At the very extreme http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-moment13-2008dec13,0,2231803.story “I think that you should hear what my opinion about the Obama election is: that he will not be the next president. I said on my home page in August that if he lost to expect to see the ‘riots’ that 2 Peter 2:13 tells us about. He didn’t lose. But the story is not finished yet. I still think they may begin the riots before Christmas 2008, as I said.”  in reporting about Parowan Prophet aka Leland Freeborn.  He believes, “These riots, according to his prophecy, will encourage the “old, hard-line Soviet guard” to seize the moment and rain down nukes on the United States, killing at least 100 million of us.”  Sure the fuck hope he is wrong.

As David Rockefeller reportedly said in 1973 when he and others formed the Trilateral Commission, “We will have this a Socialist Nation by the end of the year 2000.”  Maybe, he was off by a few years.

As for writing on Ahrcanum- this site, if the Supremes, Obama and the rest of the world can turn from the cares facing us, so can I.   I am off to pursue the pursuits of happiness.

I pray all of this crap is just a bunch of crap, that America stays strong, and remains home of the free.  Shame, shame on all of us if it is not.

God Bless America.

President-elect Obama recorded a message for the Global Climate Summit, promising  “a new chapter of American leadership on climate change.”
There are so many chapters to Obama, and the book is still being written.  This week, Al Gore, once the ideal running mate, and Obama had a little two hour meet with Biden in tow to talk about climate change.

The author of “An Inconvenient Truth” and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Gore presented his ideas on the environment as one part of helping the nation’s struggling economy recovery.  Note that Gore was not offered a cabinet job.

Obama said they discussed so-called green jobs as a way to boost employment across the country, improve national security by reducing reliance on foreign oil, and reduce energy costs.  Obama said global warming is “not only a problem, but it’s also an opportunity.” http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/12/08/national/w120629S86.DTL&type=politics

“We all believe what the scientists have been telling us for years now, that this is a matter of urgency and national security, and it has to be dealt with in a serious way,” said Obama.  Alas, more than 650 scientists from around the world disagree with claims made by the United Nations, Gore and Obama about global warming, “saying that science does not support that climate change is a man made phenomenon, according to a Senate environmental committee’s press blog.http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=2158072e-802a-23ad-45f0-274616db87e6

We have learned more than once that our leaders should take evidence from fact.  There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and the evidence is slipping that we are under a period of global warming.

Up to 6 inches of snow was reported in parts of Louisiana http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2008/12/the_new_orleans_area_is.htm causing havoc.  New England residents are still without power from an ice storm. http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2008/12/13/ice_storm_paralyzes_parts_of_new_england/ and yet we see Obama and Gore chatting up the warmth.  Where is the fireplace setting?

Czech President Vaclav Klaus hit out at the EU climate deal concluded Friday and described global climate issues as “a silly luxury.”  http://www.spacedaily.com/2006/081212141651.tthkmkke.html

Most folks don’t pollute and do our part, but when it comes down to it a whole industry has been created under the guise of climate change.  “Obama is pushing changes in the way Americans use energy, and produce greenhouse gases, as part of what will be a massive economic stimulus. He called it an opportunity “to re-power America.” http://apnews.myway.com/article/20081214/D952LKP00.html

A General Electric Lamp factory used to show brightly near my home town where they would produce standard light bulbs and employ thousands, now it is shuttered and dark.  The next generation of light bulb is a CFL or compact fluorescent light bulb touting energy savings at a higher cost but longer life.  Sounds good until we realize that these new light bulbs are filled with the toxic substance Mercury, a “highly toxic heavy metal that can cause brain damage and learning disabilities in fetuses and children” and as “one of the most poisonous forms of pollution.” http://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=aa7796aa-e4a5-4c06- .

Where are mercury-containing CFLs made? Not in the United States. under strict environmental regulation. CFLs are made in India and China, where environmental standards are virtually non-existent.

“It’s too bad they’re so capable, experienced, and energetic because the energy and global warming policies that President-elect Obama wants them to pursue are radical, economically disastrous, and pointless,” says http://www.globalwarming.org/node/2827  and says that, “Reality is setting in around the world, as temperatures continue flat and efforts to reduce emissions prove costly and ineffective.  Let’s hope that our elected leaders in Congress see what’s happening before they turn off the lights.”

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe could be our hero in waiting who often butts heads with Gore.  http://newsok.com/green-team-obamas-choices-will-challenge-inhofe/article/3330250   Is it all a big swindle?  Visit http://www.junkscience.com/ who argues that human activity is the chief cause of warming, if it exists at all.

Leading headlines this morning continue to be about the weather with excessive rains in California, sub zero temperatures in the upper Midwest and those still recovering from the massive ice storm in the North East.   The “Icebox of the Nation,” International Falls, temps remained below zero.  http://www.answers.com/topic/international-falls-minnesota

Global Warming, humph.

Not in the headlines, it would appear that is is going to be a cold day in hell before anyone directly ties Obama to any Obamagate issues.

Highlighting Chicago politics, the matter continues to show relationships between the about to be impeached Democratic governor and some members of Obama’s inner circle.  His top campaign strategist, David Axelrod, will move to the White House for a senior adviser’s job and lists Blagojevich on his firm’s Web site as one of his clients, when the politician was a candidate for Congress.
