The White House says President Barack Obama is being kept updated on the swine flu outbreak in Mexico as he gets set for yet another expensive TV appearance tonight, during Prime Time.

Celebrating his 100th day in office, “Fox became the first broadcast network to turn down a request by President Barack Obama for time, opting to show its drama “Lie to Me” on Wednesday instead of the president’s prime-time news conference.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/27/fox-not-airing-obama-pres_n_191954.html  I guess there is freedom for the press after all.

So much for watching “Lost.”  Instead, Americans seem to be living in the lost land of The Department of Homeland Security and Janet Napolitano who are finally paying attention to the severity of the Swine Flu.  The Swine Flu in itself is not a conspiracy, it is real.  How the Swine Flu has evolved is another post.  My tin foil hat’s antennae are up though, and I have to wonder why the Obama Administration waited so long to get on the stick to begin to warn Americans of what was happening to our neighbors, and the flu’s ability to spread from person to person.

One week after Obama returned from Mexico, Felipe Solís, the director of Mexico’s National Anthropology Museum died- April 23rd.  He met Presidents Obama and Calderón at the museum!   Solís died apparently of a preexisting condition and not of Swine Flu. Really?  White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said The, “White House was not warned about the outbreak before the president’s stop in Mexico City, but said “there’s no reason to believe” Mexican officials “withheld any information. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/04/28/obama_ok_after_mexico_trip/

On April 6 2009- prior to Obama’s arrival in Mexico, local health officials declared a health alert due to a respiratory disease outbreak in the Mexican town of La Gloria in Veracruz state. Health officials record 400 cases of people who sought medical treatment in the previous week in the town. About 60 percent of the town of 3,000 are affected.  Follow the time line at http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/med_swine_flu_timeline Why would we think that the officials withheld anything?

Cuba yesterday became the first nation to suspends flights to and from Mexico, what country will be the next to impose a travel ban?  What about restrictions on imports like food?  WHO claims it is too late for containment anyways.

If I listen really hard during tonight’s Prime Time Conference, I wonder if I will be able to hear the tap dance from Obama on why his administration wasn’t more forthright about notifying the America of an imminent health threat.  The World Health Organization continues to monitor the situation as it raises its pandemic alert level.   The United States government’s national threat level is Elevated, or Yellow. For all domestic and international flights, the U.S. threat level is High, or Orange. http://www.dhs.gov/xinfoshare/programs/Copy_of_press_release_0046.shtm Had the Obama administration notified the citizens of New York City that a Boeing Jet, escorted by fighter planes would be buzzing the sky scrapers, I doubt wouldn’t have felt threatened either.  Wouldn’t want to alarm anyone, you know- us sheeples. https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/04/27/jet-over-nyc-is-obamas-audacity/

For a Harvard graduate, President Obama seems to have forgotten that he won the Hispanic vote. “Why a virus that has spread across at least 10 countries and is suspected in many others has only killed Hispanics, and whether a race-specific bio-weapon is being beta-tested” asks http://www.prisonplanet.com/is-swine-flu-a-race-specific-virus.html  Indeed.

Hedging his bets on reducing population but increasing ratings, I recommend tuning in to Ted Turner’s CNN who will be broadcasting Obama’s Prime Time Conference.  Mr. Turner a believer in population control once said, “We’ve got to stabilize population.”  http://www.thirdeyeconcept.com/news/index.php?page=204

Wash your hands before you grab your remote control and stay tuned for further developments.

President Obama will be addressing the nation tonight when I should be relaxing and watching American Idol instead.  What could he say that hasn’t already been said in his “60 minutes,” TV appearance, his daily rants and quips to the press, or the last time he interrupted prime time TV?    Change we can Believe in?  Please, after more than two months on the job it has become obvious that we are not believing anymore- if ever.

Reuters News is reporting,  that the House Budget Committee will begin a marathon session on Wednesday to write its version of the budget plan, followed a day later by the Senate Budget Committee’s crafting of its budget plan for fiscal 2010 and the four subsequent years.  Joy, Joy, President Obama, just butter everyone up the night before you shove the whole loaf down our throat to choke on.

The Obama administration is considering asking Congress to give the Treasury secretary unprecedented powers to initiate the seizure of non-bank financial companies, such as large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, whose collapse would damage the broader economy, according to an administration document.  The government at present has the authority to seize only banks. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/23/AR2009032302830_pf.html  I wish he’d cite an example of who he is eligible to seize.  Can he seize an entire State?  California’s been broke for awhile now.  Can he seize the entire FDIC?
Maybe he will finally just come out of the closet and admit…..he is a socialist, among other adjectives I can think of to describe him.
The Democrats, said Senator Patty Murray[http://murray.senate.gov/]
of Washington, a senior member of the Senate Budget Committee, want to “Put the middle class first and bring the country out of the recession… Now is not the time to sit back and criticize,” Murray said in a open warning to Republicans.
NOW, is the time Ms. Murray, and the The National Republican Senatorial Committee seems to agree.  NRSC  just released this new video on the INTERNET.  The video is titled, President Obama vs Candidate Obama: Change We Can Believe In?  link here http://www.youtube.com/nrsc
NRSC is the official political committee established by Republican Members of the United States Senate to help Republican candidates develop the campaign resources they need for the 2010 elections.  The Chairman of the NRSC is Senator John Cornyn of Texas. [http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/]  Cornyn said, “ Not only is this spending out of control, it’s unacceptable that the Administration will pass the tab for it onto future generations in the form of IOUs.”
Too bad the NRSC doesn’t have the same audacity as Obama.  If the NRSC had any balls at all, they would have bought one minute and thirty seconds of ad time to air this video immediately after President Obama signed off tonight.
I’ve said it before, https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/02/08/obama-prime-time-vision/ and I’ll say it again, Obama it seems to like hearing himself talk and can’t seem to do that well unless the TelePrompter is rolling.  Reagan said, “Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation.  You will have opportunities beyond anything we’ve ever known.”

Too bad the looming opportunity Obama had,  isn’t change we can believe in.  Just weeks into his Presidency, Obama most memorable statement, ”I screwed up.”  and “I’ll take responsibility regarding the AIG Bonus Awards.

Here’s your hope for you, Obama won’t go long on his blabbering since, “Dancing with the Stars is on at 9:00.

As part of the transparency in government, Obama is demanding free prime time TV space.  Monday he’s holding a press conference that is expected to last an hour and then the following Monday, a stimulus push right down our throats.  Last but not least, the State of the Union Address is on Tuesday, February 24.

Having spent the better part of the week watching the Senate battle for my stimulus dollars on Fox, CNN and C-SPAN, I am hardly excited at the prospects of looking forward to seeing President Obama the next 3 three weeks in a row during prime time TV. The news cycle is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Prime time is America’s time to be entertained, to watch House, American Idol, or some other mindless show to not have to think about the economy or news.   To sit on the couch with the family, crack a smile, veg, and relax after dinner.

The networks must be pissed at the amount of advertising revenue that will be lost.  Can’t anyone just say no to O?  I imagine the wrath of deciding not to air Obamavision might include an avoidance of reporters questions.  ABC is probably on the shit list anyways based on the bantering over a tough question recently with Robert Gibbs, the White House communications director.  ABC was also apparently thrown for a loop at the request for free TV time, and still can’t decide what shows to put on after, saying “to be announced.” http://www.tvguide.com/Listings/Default.aspx .

What could Obama tell me that I don’t already know?  This isn’t the campaign trail, and the trail of the House and Senate Stimulus Bills stinks to hell.  The last time Obama was on TV this for this long, he actually paid for the TV time  in a half-hour commercial and sort of mini-documentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtREqAmLsoA

Imagine that stimulus to the economy- paying for the TV Time; not demanding it and costing the networks millions.  The McCain campaign response from spokesman Tucker Bounds: “As anyone who has bought anything from an infomercial knows, the sales-job is always better than the product. Buyer beware.”

Is he going to remind me that money was removed that was earmarked for the water parks?  Is he going to tell me why a ruling dismissing without prejudice all charges against Saudi national Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri was issued, potentially freeing the U.S.S. Cole mastermind bomber from Guantanamo?  What, so we can find him and try him again later?  What could President Obama possibly tell me that demands Prime Time TV?

Obama is not The Great Communicator.   All physical differences aside, Reagan, even when delivering bad news found the words to sooth and projected light at the end of the tunnel.  Obama on the other hand, seems to like hearing himself talk and can’t seem to do that well unless the TelePrompter is rolling.  Reagan said, “Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation.  You will have opportunities beyond anything we’ve ever known.”

Just weeks into his Presidency, Obama most memorable statement, “I screwed up.”  In the coming weeks of prime time TV, I hope he has something better to say.
