obamabad

We usually feel better after apology but not this time.  According to the NY Times, “The Obama administration is signaling to Congress that the president could support taxing some employee health benefits, as several influential lawmakers and many economists favor, to help pay for overhauling the health care system.”  http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/15/us/politics/15health.html?_r=1

Yesterday, President Obama said, “It’s never as good as we say it is and it’s never as bad as we say it is. I’m very optimistic.”   Gee, that makes me feel better.  Obama has placed himself in a win/win with that comment and placed all of us in further jeopardy of being poor.  During the election Obama criticized McCain for even suggesting it- so instead, he is sending a message to Congress that if they will do it, he will sign it into law.  Throw in the proposed carbon tax and a tax for every mile driven and the working man or woman won’t see even half of his wages.

SodaHead’s blog writes, ” Doing the math, this would cost the average family receiving health insurance from their employers $2,000 or more in extra taxes per year. Kiss that $600 dollar tax cut good by.” http://www.sodahead.com/blog/49361/obama-plan-to-tax-your-health-care-how-does-that-grab-you/ .

What incentive is there to work when under O, soon most services will be free anyways?  Why should my doctor bust his ass on a Friday when it puts him into a higher tax bracket?  Schools around the nation are considering four day weeks, why not the rest of us?  “By extending school hours and eliminating a day of classes each week, education officials say they could save bus loads of money on transportation and utilities.” http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_11898035?nclick_check=1

Why not go to four days a week for all of us?  While I am pondering three day weekends, maybe we should move to the European style of vacations and work ethics.  In the 15 nations of the European Union, by law all full-time employees must be given a minimum of four weeks’ paid vacation per year; in Japan mandates 25 days a year, so unlike 127 other countries, the U.S. has no minimum paid-leave law.  We are the No Vacation Nation and are taxed so highly that half of us can’t afford to go on vacation anyways.  We work hard to give to our government.

Harvard Economist Juliet Shore wrote that we should hold jobs to a set number of hours per week, offer comp time for any overtime, and lower our living standards. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/046505434X.  Lower our living standards?  Ain’t that a kick in the ass, go to work and lower the standards for the American Dream!  Frig u.

Accepting lower standards is only half the problem.  The standards are so low, that it is now perceived to be okay to accept welfare and subsidized housing on a regular basis. Used to be I’d see folks in line at the grocery store embarrassed as they paid with food stamps, now they wave them in the air like they are a prize.  Accepting the standards of the welfare system should never be acceptable nor should the incentive to lower our standards ever be spat out.

I could envision a job interview where the employee says that they expect to work no more than 40 hours a week.  Laughable, because there are plenty of others who are willing to work twice as long for the same pay with or without vacation time.

TAKE BACK YOUR TIME is a major U.S./Canadian initiative to challenge the epidemic of overwork, over-scheduling and time famine that now threatens our health, our families and relationships, our communities and our environment.  http://www.timeday.org/.  It isn’t my time that feels threatened at the moment, it is my wallet under Obama’s tax plans.

We really don’t have to worry about Take Back Your Time Day- October 24 with so many unemployed we have lots of vacation time, just no money and no incentives to look for work.  Even if you still have a job and take a paid vacation, you are taxed.  Oh, the poor travel industry.

I think you even have to pay taxes on unemployment compensation.  Is there anything left that doesn’t have a tax?  The only thing I can think of is breathing and when that ends, there is a death tax.

The multi billion merger pending from pharmaceutical companies Merck with a $41.1 billion purchase of Schering-Plough Corp. probably won’t be the last big drug-industry merger.  The amount of money is staggering and the lack of regulation apparent.

The deal, which comes on the heels of Pfizer Inc.’s $68 billion bid for Wyeth in January and Roche Holding AG’s $45.7 billion offer for U.S. partner Genentech Inc. last week, will spur other drug makers fearful of falling behind into action…Sanofi-Aventis SA may next target Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., which sells the French company’s Plavix blood-thinner and the Avapro hypertension treatment in the U.S. Alternatively, Bristol- Myers may be a potential merger partner for U.K. diabetes drug partner AstraZeneca Plc.  Johnson & Johnson may make a counter bid for Schering-Plough.  http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a.JuaqqzcDMY&refer=home

There is money to be made and lives to be saved, but human drug testing in the highest expense to bringing new drugs to market.  Many trade their bodies for the cash drug trial offers. More than 800 drug tests are taking place in India alone.  The FDA has only checked into 8 of them according to a special report http://www.tampabay.com/specials/2008/reports/india/ .

For every 5000 drugs tested in the lab, only 5 will make it to clinical trials and only 1 will pass and make it to the shelves.  It is expensive and America bears the brunt tangible costs with big pharma passing along the costs to her citizens with our disastrous medical system that by some accounts, is still the best in the world.

In New Zealand, the use of human subjects including children as young as 6 years old, in trials of a novel GE {Genetically Engineered} food is being condemned by scientists internationally and by GE Free NZ (in food and environment).  GE ‘golden rice’ has been promoted as a solution to malnutrition, despite other readily-available sources of vitamin A.  Deficiencies of the vitamin are a cause of blindness among the poor.

“‘Pharming’ will blur the distinction between food and chemicals, disrupting our brand image far more significantly than the recent melamine contamination in milk powder in China.  Allowing human feeding trials of this experimental rice is highly concerning and  a frightening breach of human rights,” says Jon Carapiet from GE-Free New Zealand.  http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO0902/S00328.htm

No where in mainstream media, is this report out about American pharmaceutical company Baxter- sending to Chech Republic, Slovenia and Germany bird flu vaccines that were found to contain actual deadly flu virus instead of the vaccine!  Baxter flu vaccines contaminated with H5N1 – otherwise known as the human form of avian flu, one of the most deadly biological weapons on earth with a 60% kill rate – were received by labs in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Sloveniahttp://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2009/02/27/8560781.html

Of course, Baxter invoked trade secrets and refused to reveal how the vaccines were contaminated with H5N1, finally admitting that pure H5N1 batches were sent by accident.  On Friday {March 6, 2009}, the company’s director of global bioscience communications confirmed what scientists have suspected. “It was live,” Christopher Bona said in an email.   The contaminated product, which Baxter calls “experimental virus material,” was made at the Orth-Donau  research facility. Baxter makes its flu vaccine — including a human H5N1 vaccine for which a license is expected shortly — at a facility in the Czech Republic.

People familiar with biosecurity rules are dismayed by evidence that human H3N2 and avian H5N1 viruses somehow co-mingled in the Orth-Donau facility. That is a dangerous practice that should not be allowed to happen, a number of experts insisted.   Accidental release of a mixture of live H5N1 and H3N2 viruses could have resulted in dire consequences. Ya think?  Did they send it regular mail or on an airplane with 200 happy people going on vacation?  Was it labeled as hazardous medical so a terrorist could know what to steal?  Mind numbing ignorance.

While H5N1 doesn’t easily infect people, H3N2 viruses do. If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hazardous mixed virus able to transmit easily to and among people.   That mixing process, called reassortment, is one of two ways pandemic viruses are created.

“This was seemingly an attempt to quickly change the story and hide the fact that the accidental contamination of a vaccine with a deadly biological agent like avian flu is virtually impossible and the only way it could have happened was by willful gross criminal negligence,” said Dr. Orly Taitz at http://defendourfreedoms.us/2009/03/10/meeting-with-scalia-and-coordinated-cyber-attack.aspx

The contamination incident came to light when the subcontractor in the Czech Republic inoculated ferrets with the product and they died. Ferrets shouldn’t die from exposure to human H3N2 flu viruses.  Imagine if they had inoculated infants rather than ferrets.

Baxter International Inc.(NYSE: BAX)  “develops, manufactures and markets products that save and sustain the lives of people with hemophilia, immune disorders, infectious diseases, kidney disease, trauma, and other chronic and acute medical conditions. http://www.baxter.com/  The company has no mention of this mistake of epic proportion on their website.

According to the Baxter site they have two products on the market: a vaccine against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) and a vaccine against group C meningococcal meningitishttp://www.baxtervaccines.com/?node_id=312 I think we can all agree how happy we are that this “mixing process,” didn’t affect these two vaccines already widely in use.

According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) three virus strains, usually two type A and one type B, are selected each year before flu vaccine production starts. This is done after a careful investigation of the circulating strains and their mutations and they pick and choose the most likely to populate.

The CDC recommends getting vaccinated now to protect against late-circulating flu viruses and provides state pandemic Web site information at http://www.pandemicflu.gov/whereyoulive/index.html.  From all accounts the last time it was updated for the heavily populated state of New York was in 2006. http://www.health.state.ny.us/diseases/communicable/influenza/pandemic/docs/pandemic_influenza_plan.pdf  Check your state here http://www.pandemicflu.gov/plan/states/stateplans.html.

I wonder if pandemic planning activities include all the FEMA camps and train rides?

The CDC has a list of the number of vaccines recommended for children and adults from the eradicated Polio to the newly identified diseases like Cervical Cancer who’s prevention for a few of the strains lies in the vaccine Gardasil; which is now mandated by the U.S. Government for all female immigrants.  http://www.cispimmunize.org/

The alleged link between thimerosal and autism has spawned numerous investigations, including a fantastic Rolling Stone article by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that claims that the government was/is engaged in a medical cover-up. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/7395411/deadly_immunity/

“All parents and patients should be informed about the risks and benefits of preventive and therapeutic procedures, including vaccination. In the case of vaccination, federal law mandates this discussion.”  http://www.cispimmunize.org/pro/pdf/RefusaltoVaccinate.pdf Physicians are also mandated to keep records of patients who refuse.  If you refuse to vaccinate your children, will your doctor enforce the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act which gives states the right to literally steal your children for up to 48 hours — the time they have to prove child neglect OR abuse and then vaccinate them?

Does big pharma operate with the morals to prevent mortality?

Someday, you will die.

Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez seized a food and rice processing unit owned by Cargill, one of the US’s largest privately-held companies and is taking aim at Polar- Venezuela’s largest private company.

Venezuelan citizens  have faced shortages of white rice sold at a low government-set price in recent weeks, while stores have ample supplies of parboiled rice which is not subject to price controls.  Venezuela’s rice millers association blames the shortages on insufficient supplies of the grain, while the Chavez government says the mills are deliberately producing small quantities of white rice in order to skirt price controls. http://www.newsdaily.com/stories/tre52405l-us-venezuela-chavez-cargill/

Polar has two distinct divisions.  On the one hand it has a biotechnology and development division and on the other hand, makes the popular brand, Polar Beer, and it tastes pretty damned good in my humble opinion.  Polar is a rice based beer and Venezuela is the third-largest buyer of U.S. rice. No wonder Chavez is going after Cargill- it’s all about the beer!

“In the field of agricultural biotechnology, Polar is working on transgenic rice and maize.  Rice is transformed to increase resistance to the white leaf virus. Polar’s interest in the rice and maize projects is to improve productivity, since the company is the largest national buyer of maize, and a major one in rice and malted barley. ” http://www.biotech-monitor.nl/3205.htm .

Blogging from Venezuela,  http://daniel-venezuela.blogspot.com/2009/03/cargill-and-polar-to-be-looted-by.html says that “The Polar thing came just as Polar announced it would go to court.  So Chavez, who owns the courts, and as the thug he is, replied by threatening to take it all.”

Polar also has a 38 per cent share in the largest Venezuelan bank. Chavez will now own and nationalize the oil, electric, steel, cement, telecommunications, food, beer and the money in the bank for his citizens to not only starve to death but now die of thirst.  Chavez must have drank too many Polar beers in recent weeks to take over an American manufacturing plant.   According to UPI, he also ordered the military to take over the other rice mills as well.

Chavez’s nationalizations appear to be publicly supported but periodic shortages of basic goods have hurt his popularity in recent years.  To ensure his continued power as president, Chavez changed the rules so that he can run again in the next election.  Hey, wait a minute, who was that Congressman who is trying to pass a law to eliminate term limits for the Office of Presidency here in the U.S.?   U.S. Representative José E. Serrano represents the 16th Congressional District of New York – the Bronx, that’s who. https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/01/14/obama-to-serve-as-president-forever-constitution-changes/  H.J. Res 5 would repeal the 22nd amendment- follow the bill which is in committee here  http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=hj111-5.

Already with a struggling economy, the one thing citizens of Venezuela must  have really enjoyed, was sitting down with a cold Polar beer on a hot sunny day.  Really now, what is Chavez going to serve the Cubans and Russians when they come again for diplomatic talks?  I wonder what Obama has in store as a repercussion, if anything.  Imagine if another country like say, oh – I don’t know, Japan just showed up on US Soil and took over it’s car manufacturing here.   “Obama, you take care of your business and I’ll take care of mine. Don’t mess with me, Mr. Obama,” Chavez said recently. http://www.energypublisher.com/article.asp?id=18326  He didn’t even bother to call him President Obama.  So much for props.

On a clear day sitting on Aruba’s beaches you can almost make out the smog coming from Venezuela.  Pretty soon you are going to see people making a bee line on boats for the beaches if- for nothing else, a cold Balashi beer instead of a Polar.  Brewed in Aruba,  Balashi’s malt is imported from Scotland while the hops hail from Germany. http://www.balashi.com/balashi/BBeer.htm

Somehow I don’t see Obama and Chavez sitting down over any beer, anytime soon.  Maybe Obama will see fit to offer Cargill some bailout money instead. Maybe Obama is following in Chavez’s footsteps nationalizing the banks, the automotive industry, and who knows what else is next.

Best bet, let’s stop importing Venezuela’s oil and exporting our rice to them.  We’ve heard lots about Oil for Food in Iraq, http://www.heritage.org/research/internationalorganizations/bg1748.cfm, let’s hope this isn’t the start of Oil for Rice and that Obama never nationalizes our beer.  Ooops, the famous American Budweiser beer is no longer an American company anyways.  It is owned by InBev of Belgium.

 Cheers and God Bless America.

President Obama, regarding government contracts said that his administration will stop outsourcing to private contractors many services that should be performed by government employees.  Again, making the government bigger at the expense of the private sector. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/03/04/obama-pledge-cut-government-waste/100days/

No matter how big the government gets, individuals do matter, even in Obamatimes.  It is the private sector that has spurned capitalism, it is the Obama administration that is relinquishing and further eroding free market economics.  Admitting that he is not following the daily” fluctuations” and concerns on Wall Street while millions loose their house, savings, jobs and shirts is ludicrous

Bush’s economic policies were holding their own ground until he was faced with Barney Frank’s Frannie/Freddie and the mortgage crisis that was helped in part by Obama’s ACORN, and he lost his marbles with an idiotic statement like, “I had to abandon free market principles to save the free market.”   Oh, President Bush, you broke my heart.

I recall it was President Bill Clinton era Federal regulations that set up the housing crisis that started this slide.  Most certainly every single member of Congress is responsible for allowing to ignore it.

Every time someone in the Obama administration opens their mouth regarding fiscal policy, the markets tank-so shut up already.  Obama made the commitment with more bailouts, and budgets lined with more pork continuing to ignore his own campaign promises.

While Blagojevich and Burris have been found guilty in the court of public opinion, we can look back and see Obama himself was and is well versed in performing the quid pro quo and pork he has promised to eliminate. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0705030035may03,0,3860794.story  “”My philosophy was that, if money was being distributed, then it would be inappropriate for me to not get my share for my district.”

Our president, who seemingly is so set on having the government responsible for every detail of our lives has forgotten that you don’t need to have a “citizen army” or “citizen service” in order to get something done.  That “All communities to build upon the strength of our nation’s diversity of ideas, experience, and perspectives as we unite to serve. WE ARE READY to meet the challenges of our time. We are ready to do our part in America’s timeless quest for a more perfect union, and I am ready to begin now by adding my name to this Declaration,” reads more like a sign up sheet to join the Nazi Party than it does to offer a lending hand to our country. http://www.bethechangeaction.org/pledge/sign  Why anyone signs this pledge is beyond me.  Plenty of people volunteer without signing a pledge from Obama.

Amazingly, it is our tax dollars that are funding a ton of national service with a hefty budget.  http://www.nationalservice.gov/about/budget/index.asp  Check out http://www.volunteeringinamerica.gov/

I am not completely heartless and actually do volunteer and make donations- which I think are no longer tax deductible under Obama.  Anyways, a few years ago a dear friend of ours prepared to celebrate her milestone 40th birthday on March 4th.  “I wondered what legacy, a simple woman like me with no fame, no wealth and no children, could leave. ”  In response to this, she looked to where her fortunes does lie – within dear friends and family scattered across the country, and asked all to help create a shared legacy.  To collectively, open our eyes and really LOOK at those around us…and to reach out in kindness.  The tradition continues this year, as it will for many years ahead.  Until we don’t need reminded to slow down and care for our neighbors.

She challenges each of us, on March 4th, to March Forth into your communities and give of yourselves.  So, dear friends, March Forth into your communities — act, commit, speak up, reach out, donate, give of yourself.  Learn more by following her new blog http://wemarch4th.blogspot.com/ or check out the original website at http://MarchForth.us to see how people have lived The March in past years.

Remember, you don’t have to organize any big outings or large donations.  You don’t have to sign on the dotted line to be an Obama Community Organizer,  join the Army or commit to National Service to do something nice for someone else.  No matter whom you voted for, the date March 4th is used to pause from our busy schedules to remember that we are indeed part of a larger family and community.

The site says, “March 4th is more than just a day…it’s our legacy.”  The Obama administration is more than just four years…it could be the legacy that destroys democracy with complete reliance on hand outs from government, rather than the willing hand of a neighbor.
One individual person made a difference to come up with March Forth on March fourth.  It might be that Hillary Clinton was right in saying, “It takes a village.”  It shouldn’t take a government.

You might also want to check out March Forth Day from Gevity who gives all employees the day off to run errands for your soul. It is not a personal day, it’s a personal fulfillment day!

President Barack Obama is  believed to be among more than 200 nominations for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

Alfred Nobel who among other things invented dynamite, created five annual prizes—chemistry, physics, literature, medicine and peace—in his will to honor, “The greatest benefit on mankind.”   Past nominees include Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Fidel Castro, just to name a few.  Al Gore constantly reminds us he won.  Kissinger’s acceptance caused uproar over the former National Security Advisor’s role in a secret war against Cambodia and the overthrow of the Chilean government.

Being nominated, obviously does not reflect on the merits of one’s accomplishments.  Obama has been President for what, all of six weeks?  How have Obama’s deeds and actions been “The greatest benefit on mankind?”

Obama’s nomination demeans the process and should he win, will be testament to the fact that he has won only because he has a black face.  Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela accomplished things worthy of recognition, not the color of their skin.

President Obama has no chemistry, physics or medical background leaving only a prize for literature or peace to be afforded to him.  To think that Obama’s actions are on the same level as the accomplishments of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Bishop Desmond Tutu, is ludicrous.  This brings us to the category of literature to support his nomination.

The democratic party’s rock star president wrote, “The Audacity of Hope,” and “Dreams from My Father.”  The audacity to nominate Obama for a Nobel Prize based on race is foremost disgruntling, he has done nothing so far as President, and to think that his literature supports a nomination of a Nobel Prize in any category, is pure hooey.

President Barack Obama’s 2010 budget is the most recent thing he has authored.  On the title page above the words 2010 Budget Obama writes: “A New Era of Responsibility.” “For too long our budget has not told the whole truth about how precious tax dollars are spent,” Obama said in remarks ahead of the release of his $3.55 trillion spending blueprint, which projected a huge $1.17 trillion deficit.  “Large sums have been left off the books, including the true cost of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. And that kind of dishonest accounting is not how you run your family budgets at home. It’s not how your government should run its budgets either,” he said. {Reuters}  This sounds familiar from the campaign trail.

Tony Fratto, Bush’s former White House spokesman specializing on economic issues responded saying that “Trying to mask huge spending increases under the cloak of ‘fiscal responsibility’ is the height of audacity, our budgets were honest, open and transparent. Every dime spent was presented, debated, voted on and counted.”  Congressman Obama didn’t bother to vote too often, but as a member of Congress, he is equally responsible for our 10 Trillion dollar debt.  http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/o000167/votes/

I highly doubt that the budget qualifies as a piece of literature or that it supports any peace processes;  rather it is another piece of crap and certainly President Obama is not meritorious enough to receive a Nobel Peace Prize.

Updated, Friday, October 10, 2009.  President Obama has indeed won the Nobel Peace Prize, “for giving the world “hope for a better future” and striving for nuclear disarmament, in a surprise award that drew both warm praise and sharp criticism. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20091009/pl_nm/us_nobel_peace_obama

A nickel isn’t worth a dime today. ~ Yogi Berra

I can’t seem to fathom Washington tripping over quarters to pick up nickles that haven’t been minted yet.

It is time for a break, simmer down a bit, spend spend some of my quarters while they are still worth something and take a word press vacation.  I keep seeing Obama in my dreams and me wagging my finger at him saying shame, shame.  With all the talk of the bailout it is I who need to bail for a bit.  I need to re-group my thoughts and get a good night sleep.

In the mean time, may I recommend:

Oh the hilarity of calling it a compromise stimulus package.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan report is about 778 pages of political wrangling and the public has only been given about 24 hours to review it before a final vote.

Where is the damned Generational Theft Act that the Congressional Budget Office has referred to as, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan?  I’d like to read every last page.  It sure as hell is not on the White House web pages, as it states, “The President remains committed to bringing more transparency to government, and in this spirit the White House will continue to publish legislation expected to come to his desk on line for public comment as it moves through Congress.”    http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/OfficialStatements/

President Obama resolutely promised change and transparency indicating that,  “Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.  Key word here- NON EMERGENCY.  http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog_post/update_on_sunlight_before_signing/ This is an emergency if ever there was one. One trillion tomorrow, two trillion the next day, defines emergency in my dictionary.

The White House blog itself was just updated after three three days of inactivity. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog_post/first_flights/  features his first trip on Air Force One and highlights his Democratic Caucus trip saying, “We have to accommodate the interests of a range of people.  And the House is going to have to work with the Senate.  But let’s think big right now.  Let’s not think small.”  What I am thinking is big government sucks.

Published on line by the Library of Congress, parts of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan are available at Open Congress http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h1/show .  Have fun reading through all the 481 amendments proposed.

Relying on Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) at his  site  http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=RightNow.Home&ContentRecord_id=3db704c6-802a-23ad-406c-a424db591389  you’ll find a fistful of wasteful and Non-Stimulus Spending Provisions.

I’d rather stand in the unemployment line for five more days than have this rushed through legislation and not put it out there for us little people- the tax payer to look at.  I want to know who exactly proposed spending $75 million for “smoking cessation activities,  $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI and the $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction just to name a few.  C’mon, who?  What gall.

There are a whole host of concerns that we all have but now is not the time to worry about stop smoking and drinking.

Show me the money honey and while I’m thinking about it, why in the sam hell does  The President have time to write an Op-Ed piece for Wa-Po?  Is there nothing else he could be doing than taking the time for this?  Like giving orders to post the damned “plans” on the website before he signs them?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/04/AR2009020403174.html?hpid=opinionsbox1

That’s the way to create consumer confidence, write about how “this recession might linger for years.”  We are indeed a desperate nation when we allocate millions for pork barrel projects and earmarks that do nothing.  Obama is doing something alright, he will be addressing the nation on prime time TV tonight. https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/02/08/obama-prime-time-vision/

In the meantime so as not to confuse billions and trillions of of dollars between two pieces of legislation, “With the administration making a full court press to get the economic stimulus package through Congress, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is delaying his plans to spell out details of the upcoming bank rescue plan, now dubbed the Financial Stability and Recovery Plan.” http://www.thedeal.com/dealscape/2009/02/geithner_puts_banking_rescue_p.php

Geithner’s new plan appears designed to stem the government’s up-front costs to the federal budget but could nevertheless expose taxpayers to as much as $2 trillion more in potential obligations to the financial industry.

I’d like to read the Financial Stability and Recovery Plan before it goes into law too, but even Open Congress doesn’t provide this.

Might as well turn in my conservative blogger badge now and say hello to government controlled capitalism as we allocate nearly three trillion dollars in three days.

Lol, ain’t nothing funny about it.

As part of the transparency in government, Obama is demanding free prime time TV space.  Monday he’s holding a press conference that is expected to last an hour and then the following Monday, a stimulus push right down our throats.  Last but not least, the State of the Union Address is on Tuesday, February 24.

Having spent the better part of the week watching the Senate battle for my stimulus dollars on Fox, CNN and C-SPAN, I am hardly excited at the prospects of looking forward to seeing President Obama the next 3 three weeks in a row during prime time TV. The news cycle is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Prime time is America’s time to be entertained, to watch House, American Idol, or some other mindless show to not have to think about the economy or news.   To sit on the couch with the family, crack a smile, veg, and relax after dinner.

The networks must be pissed at the amount of advertising revenue that will be lost.  Can’t anyone just say no to O?  I imagine the wrath of deciding not to air Obamavision might include an avoidance of reporters questions.  ABC is probably on the shit list anyways based on the bantering over a tough question recently with Robert Gibbs, the White House communications director.  ABC was also apparently thrown for a loop at the request for free TV time, and still can’t decide what shows to put on after, saying “to be announced.” http://www.tvguide.com/Listings/Default.aspx .

What could Obama tell me that I don’t already know?  This isn’t the campaign trail, and the trail of the House and Senate Stimulus Bills stinks to hell.  The last time Obama was on TV this for this long, he actually paid for the TV time  in a half-hour commercial and sort of mini-documentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtREqAmLsoA

Imagine that stimulus to the economy- paying for the TV Time; not demanding it and costing the networks millions.  The McCain campaign response from spokesman Tucker Bounds: “As anyone who has bought anything from an infomercial knows, the sales-job is always better than the product. Buyer beware.”

Is he going to remind me that money was removed that was earmarked for the water parks?  Is he going to tell me why a ruling dismissing without prejudice all charges against Saudi national Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri was issued, potentially freeing the U.S.S. Cole mastermind bomber from Guantanamo?  What, so we can find him and try him again later?  What could President Obama possibly tell me that demands Prime Time TV?

Obama is not The Great Communicator.   All physical differences aside, Reagan, even when delivering bad news found the words to sooth and projected light at the end of the tunnel.  Obama on the other hand, seems to like hearing himself talk and can’t seem to do that well unless the TelePrompter is rolling.  Reagan said, “Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation.  You will have opportunities beyond anything we’ve ever known.”

Just weeks into his Presidency, Obama most memorable statement, “I screwed up.”  In the coming weeks of prime time TV, I hope he has something better to say.

As I’ve posted before, have we totally lost our minds regarding bailouts, stimulus packages and the conversion of the dollar to the Amero or something else?  https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2008/10/02/bailout-in-usd-or-amero/#comments

Almost ONE TRILLION DOLLARS for a stimulus?  How much wood can a wood chuck chuck to turn it in to paper money?

There is no money shortage, we just print more.  Kind of like the Blondie who didn’t notice the gas cost increase.  She just kept adding $10 every time the tank was on empty.  Seeing as our Treasury has lost around $73 billion and the Senate is about to authorizing spending $800 billion,  before all hell breaks loose we better wakie uppie to the chance that the US dollar just like capitalism, might be a thing of the past.

For an interesting peek at currency check out http://www.wisebread.com/local-currencies

There is lots of gossip about the new North-American currency “Amero” which would, as people say, come to replace Canadian and American dollars together with Mexican peso and would become one and only currency in North America. Some photos of actual Amero bills and coins appeared on different near world-conspiracy blogs and you tube channels like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H65f3q_Lm9U&eurl which features Lou Dobbs.

Don’ t kid yourself in to believing that there is no partnership already underway between Mexico, the U.S. and Canada.  As much as I love a conspiracy theory, the The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) exists and you can see it here  www.spp.gov . President Bush, Prime Minister Harper and President Fox got together to enhance security and prosperity for all!  Hurray for all for one and one for all.  The SPP is a trilateral partnership provides the framework to ensure that North America is the safest and best place to live and do business!

Translation- Obama’s “buy American” bailout provision could not be included in the stimulus if the Amero or any other dollarization was to have any chance of working.  You know – keep the borders closed to terrorism yet open to trade, money, immigrants, drugs, oil, etc.

Well, in Russia they stepped bit further and think that the currency would be called not Amero but Lunaro, or Lunar if to be exact, and probably it would replace not only Northern American currencies but all currencies on Earth and even, probably, on Moon. That’s what they call the real New World Order.   For more versions of the lunar currency check out –  http://englishrussia.com/?p=2210

For another alternative; The Liberty Dollar is private, inflation proof currency that is devoid of debt. It’s a currency of the people, for the people, and by the people.  http://www.libertydollar.org/

And for all the Obamabot supporters, check here for a not yet released Obama $100 bill.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/dimples2/3005160116/  Maybe rather than call the Amero, it will be called the Omero since the faith of the electorate is what got Obama elected.

http://www.wisebread.com/local-currencies has some more listings of currency and barter.  And Ted has an overview of dollarization, all be it almost 10 years old but it remains poignant still.  http://www.american.edu/TED/dollar.htm

The pattern is clear: governments that respond to a crisis created by free-market ideology with an acceleration of that same discredited agenda will not survive to tell the tale says Naomi Klein at http://www.alternet.org/workplace/125566/naomi_klein%3A_public_revolt_builds_against_rip-off_rescue_plans_for_the_economy/?page=entire

Let’s hope the dollar and the economy survives.  While we wait to see what’s ahead, Ahrcanum spends and earns U.S. Treasury backed dollars.

Incidentally, the Senate does not  appear to know if it signed a$780 billion or $826 billion stimulus package.   http://jerseynut.blogspot.com/2009/02/so-exactly-how-big-is-stimulus-bill.html  OMG and WTF? Another $40 billion or so that just seems to vanish into thin air.

President Obama was in Williamsburg, Va., addressing  the House Democrats saying the stimulus bill could end the “tyranny of oil, “and blames the entire economic meltdown of the GOP and GWB.

“Bolivian president Jorge Quiroga recently remarked that two key commodities, oil and cocaine, enter the United States duty free while the U.S. Congress debates duty-free entry of legal products from the United States…” http://www.latinbusinesschronicle.com/app/article.aspx?id=3129

Congress is debating a lot of things, but it would seem that this stimulus bill isn’t going to stimulate anything but more angst for everyone. Why would Obama allow House Democrats to draft his stimulus legislation in the first place? What could he have been been thinking.  http://www.forbes.com/2009/02/05/obama-stimulus-republicans-opinions-columnists_0206_peter_robinson.html?partner=popstories

Apparently, it all comes back to the black gold and blame for Mr. O, failing to realize that there have been plenty of bipartisan issues that created this fiasco.  Yes, three–quarters of oil is owned and controlled by the world’s governments.  Chevron, Exxon Mobil, BP , Shell, Valero, Conoco-Phillips and Marathon are part of the world’s largest and most powerful financial empires in and of themselves, recently announcing record profits.  Problematic, is the restrictions from drilling and exploration on U.S. Soil and Territories while Obama wants to go green.  Sarah Palin governs a treasure trove of oil and reserves that could certainly help our economy.

Green is already breaking the state of California with businesses moving out of state and taking jobs with it before they have to pay cap and trade carbon penalties.   http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123336500319935517.html?mod=googlenews_wsj  “Green policies have a tendency to push states into the red.”  Green is not going to push up any daisies for America in the short term, either.

Antonia Juhasz, in her book, “The tyranny of oil- The world’s most powerful industry and what we must do to stop it,” http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95465269 says the business and politics of oil’s production pose such grave implications on so many fronts — the environment, human rights, the economy, worker safety, public health — that the current state of petroleum-industry affairs is fundamentally antithetical to democracy.  Antithetical to democracy?  Tell that to the Iraq’s who recently voted in a democratic election.

Juhasz is also analyst with Oil Change International, a watchdog group, and is the author of “The Bush Agenda: Invading the World, One Economy at a Time.”  Want to bet she voted for Obama?   Obama is not blameless in taking in Oil Industry campaign donations, granted not as much as the Republicans.

General James Jones, US National Security Adviser was nominated to the board of directors for Chevron.  http://www.scandoil.com/moxie-bm2/news/gen-james-l-jones-nominated-to-chevron-board-of-di.shtml  Jones said, “Americans are right to demand swift and sensible action to produce more energy right here at home…”   http://www.energyxxi.org/articles/Statement_from_General_James_L_Jones_USMC_Ret_on_expanding_US_oil_and_gas_access.aspx  Maybe there is hope yet.

In the first round of billions spent, a report due on Friday calculates Treasury put about $254 billion into financial institutions in 2008, but got only $176 billion in value.  “That’s a shortfall of about $78 billion,”  adding that Mr. Paulson “was not entirely candid” in his description of TARP’s bank capital injection program. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/06/business/economy/06tarp.html?em   Pauslon bought preferred stock in companies like General Motors and Citigroup.  I’ve heard of “Buy American”, but holy shit, Paulson wasn’t supposed to take it literally.

What the frig is O doing in Williamsburg anyways- the campaign is over.  We know, you won.  Sad thing is, we’ve already lost $78 billion.  A stimulus is supposed to be immediate short-term spending in an economic downturn, not a forever solution to every problem.  It is still winter on the calendar and just a few weeks into the Obama administration and capitalism and globalization are freezing in the US.

Someone get Obama a blanket cause the heat is on Mr. President.
