Now that The World Health Organization has issued a full pandemic threat,  I find my antennae tuning in to the rapid manufacture and issuance of drugs, vaccines and potential for mass inoculations.

Drug makers have obtained the new influenza A H1N1 seed virus in the past two weeks, enabling them to begin the production process by growing the virus in eggs.  http://www.reuters.com/article/mergersNews/idUSWLA645920090611

Swiss pharmaceuticals company Novartis AG http://www.novartis.com/  said today, it has produced a first batch of experimental swine flu vaccine.  The vaccine hasn’t yet been tested and cannot be used in humans yet. It was made in cells, rather than grown in eggs as is usually the case with vaccines, the company said. http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=476980&publicationSubCategoryId=200  Damn, that was fast and they didn’t have to use eggs solving a potential problem for those with egg allergens.

Not to be outdone, Sinovac Biotech Company,http://www.sinovac.com/ a vaccine-focused biotech company in China, started efforts to manufacture A/H1N1 influenza vaccine for human use on Monday, after it received the flu strain samples from the WHO, reported Beijing News Tuesday. There are another 10 Chinese drug companies that will obtain the flu strain samples “NYMCX-179A” from the WHO this week. http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90782/90880/6675151.html

It can take five or six months to come up with an entirely novel influenza vaccine,” says John Sterling, Editor in Chief of GEN- Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News. “There is a great deal of hope that biotech and pharma companies might be able to have something ready sooner.” http://www.genengnews.com/articles/chitem.aspx?aid=2938  In just two weeks he has been proven wrong,  as as scientists around the world are accelerating their efforts to develop a vaccine against the H1N1 influenza virus (Swine flu) as rapidly as possible.

Chan from WHO said she would recommend that vaccine manufacturers proceed with mass production of an inoculation against the new swine flu strain as soon as they finish production of seasonal vaccine, which she estimated would be complete in about two weeks.  HHS spokesman Bill Hall said Thursday that no decision has been made on full-scale production because there is no need yet to make that decision….. The agency awarded a contract several weeks ago to five manufacturers to develop an H1N1 antigen. The companies are producing pilot lots. Clinical testing will take place over the summer, Hall said.  At the end of the summer, HHS will decide whether to go into production. http://entertainment.wagerweb.com/wtf/who-swine-flu-at-stage-6-and-unstoppable-11967.html

Dr. Rambaut says”…the increased detection of mildly deleterious mutations resulting from intensive epidemic surveillance; such mutations would more typically be eliminated and escape detection mutations could be adaptations to the new host species….http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/vnfv/ncurrent/pdf/nature08182.pdf  and at his blog http://tree.bio.ed.ac.uk/groups/influenza/

Andrew Rambaut, PhD, of the University of Edinburgh’s Institute of Evolutionary Biology says “These pages exist to enable the rapid dissemination of results resulting from the analysis of genetic data from the ongoing Influenza A/H1N1 outbreak attributed to swine flu. All data used, unless otherwise specified, was made available by GISAID –http://platform.gisaid.org/dante-cms/live/struktur.jdante?aid=1131 or NCBI http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/  and can be obtained directly from these sites. It is also reviewed at http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/content/influenza/swineflu/news/jun1109rambau.html

Citing the world’s best scientists and research- clearly virus mutations can escape detection, have multiple reassortment, have been around for years and contrary to the Pork Industry claims- eight genomic segments of the novel H1N1 have been circulating in swine populations for a number of years, up to 17 years.  How they got there, only God knows- at least so far.

More importantly, how could WHO, the CDC, NATO, IMF, WB, Department of HHS, and any other agency order an H1N1 antigen or a vaccine when the scientists are still studying the viruses genetic make up and its mutations? Drug makers just got a virus seed two weeks ago, yet clinical studies will take place in the U.S. this summer?  What about the criteria for safety, potency and quality?  Will these anticipated clinical testings take place on animals before the initiation of human clinical trials?

Are you willing to stand in line for an untested vaccine against H1N1?  Maybe they will develop an oral one that can be mailed via the post office while you are in isolation or quarantine.

One year ago, a new technology predicted that significant outbreaks of the H1N1 flu virus would occur within 6 to 12 months…Would- not Could!  The predictions, made by Replikins, were based on correlations of flu virus specimen and Pub Med documentation of major outbreaks during the past 90 years.” Naturally Replikins’ officials say the company’s PanFLu™ vaccine is ready for clinical trials.  Other H1N1 vaccine programs covered in the GEN article include those at Medicago, VaxInnate, NanoBio, Vaxart, Pulmatrix, and Purdue University.  Novavax plans to create a virus-like particle-based (VLP) vaccine against the H1N1 strain, which obviates the need for a live virus seed for manufacturing. The VLPs contain the proteins that make the virus’ outer shell and the surface proteins, without the RNA required for replication. props to  http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/152456.php

How could these companies have known?  How much money are they about to make?  How much more money is Obama going seek for a vaccine?  Will the vaccine kill more people than the virus as in the previous Swine Flu scare?

Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius “things could possibly be very different in the fall, especially if things change in the southern hemisphere, and we need to start preparing now in order to be ready for a possible H1N1 immunization campaign starting in late September,” she said.http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2009-06/12/content_11528978.htm .

This year’s seasonal flu shot http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/content/influenza/general/news/feb1309selection-br.html changed one of the three strains used in flu vaccines, keeping the influenza A/H1N1 and A/H3N2 variants used in this year’s vaccine, both of which are labeled Brisbane strains. The influenza B component of this year’s flu vaccine was from the Yamagata lineage.  This was decided in February prior to the H1N1 outbreak; how sure are they months later that this year’s annual flu shot will not do more harm than good or encourage viral mutations?

http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/”>http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/ has the flu surveillance report.

Over at the Virology blog http://www.virology.ws/2009/06/09/influenza-virus-toilet/ the author spotted the words ‘Kills Flu Virus’ on a bottle of Clorox toilet bowl cleaner.

Some idiot is going to drink this to prevent the flu; just like they will stand in line to get a flu shot.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office projects that publicly held debt will reach 56.1 percent of GDP under current law. If President Obama’s budget is implemented, CBO projects debt to reach 82.4 percent of GDP  according to http://www.heritage.org/research/features/BudgetChartBook/Obama-Budget-Increase-Debt-26-Percent-GDP.aspx

You can keep track of our spending ways at the National Debt clock  http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

While George Bush may not be a saint, but Obama is looking more and more like a sinner- spending more than any other President in history. The National Debt was $10.6-trillion on the day Barack Obama took office, if his budget projections come to fruition, he’ll run up nearly as much government debt in four years as President Bush did in eight.

From, A Pfennig for For your thoughts http://www.dailypfennig.com/ , “we’ll see the Budget Deficit, which is expected to be $180 Billion for the month of May… If it tallies there at $180 Billion, the Budget Deficit in the first 5 months of this year will have exceeded $650 Billion… And that’s before the $787 Stimulus gets added… And other items that will come along… And don’t forget that we posted a deficit in April!  I still believe the Budget Deficit will be at least $3 Trillion this year! That would push our National Debt to around $14 Trillion…” For a great explanation of “why do the annual federal budget deficits not match increases in the national debt,” visit http://www.independent.org/blog/?p=2355

Twice as nice for a Wednesday, both Trade Deficit and Budget Deficit will be released today. Ten Banks are going to repay their TARP (troubled assets relief program) funds, to the tune of nearly $70 billion, but that will barely put a dent in America’s economic decline, say nothing of the move toward socialized everything.

Senators Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.)”vowed again Tuesday to vote against — and, if possible, filibuster — the troop-funding bill and all other legislation until they get their way,” according to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/09/lieberman-graham-threaten_n_213262.html The hissy fit is over a photo amendment that would prevent the release of the Gitmo torture photos forever and ever.

“Transparency in government is an American value, but it is not without limits, no more than any of the values embraced in our Constitution,” Lieberman said. “The transparency in this case is needless and dangerous transparency.”

Their actions have merit.  The world does not need to see how low America stooped.  Too bad these two didn’t have the balls necessary during the campaign to warn that an Obama administration of transparency, would only come when it was convenient for Obama.  If nothing else, this Senate delay saves us a few bucks while the debate goes on.

According to CNN- President Barack Obama on Tuesday proposed making “pay-as-you-go” rules for federal spending into law.  The so-called PAYGO proposal requires Congress to balance any increased spending by equal savings elsewhere. By all accounts, added entitlement spending will be offset with spending cursor tax increases. Talk about bait and switch!

ABC points out, “discretionary spending – roughly 40% of the federal budget – is not covered by PAYGO.” The PAYGO rules will apply to new tax cuts and mandatory spending, with four major exemptions – any renewal of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, the continued efforts to “patch” the Alternative Minimum Tax, any effort to address physician’s payments in Medicare, and modifying the estate tax.” http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/06/president-obama-paygo-and-the-deficit-hole.html

“”This is like quitting drinking, but making an exception for beer and hard liquor,” said Maya MacGuineas, President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB). “Exempting these measures from PAYGO would increase the ten-year deficit by over $2.5 trillion dollars. That’s not fiscal responsibility.” I’ll have a nice chardonnay please, and it better not be the frig from France.

60% of the budget is not subject to PAYGO.  Why is no one having a hissy fit over that?  While President Obama may enjoy a 60% approval rating, PAYGO and his expensive socialistic plans still don’t achieve his goals.  Bush might have spent a pretty dime, but at least is was shining in democracy.

props to http://chalktalk-talk.blogspot.com/2009/06/worldwide-national-debt.html on the Percent of GDP.  Japan debt is equally dismal especially in light of recent military actions on the part of it’s neighbor North Korea.   Obama who continues his spiel of climate change for jobs might want to take a look at Japans which “is doing the smart thing by not meeting it’s ‘Kyoto Protocol’ targets and is only pledging to cut it’s future CO2 emissions by 8%. Via http://motorcitytimes.com/mct/japan-will-protect-its-economy-first/  Right now they need jobs and so do we.

I think I”ll have a Saki instead of that chardonnay after all.

My share of I.O.U.S.A. debt leaves little room for more than a sip out of the White House Fountain.

How do we cure the H1N1 Swine Flu?

Mycologist Paul Stamets lists 6 ways the mycelium fungus can help save the universe: cleaning polluted soil, making insecticides, treating smallpox and even curing the flu!  http://www.ted.com/index.php/speakers/paul_stamets.htmlRead more.

As swine flu cases approach 20,000 worldwide the number is significantly lower than reported cases of death from the seasonal flu.  Yet, “Pharmaceutical companies are ready to begin making a swine flu vaccine – but as the virus constantly mutates, questions abound: How much should be produced? How will it be distributed? Who should get it?”  reports http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/05/14/health/main5013643.shtml?source=RSSattr=HOME_5013643.  Will you ask for the one manufactured by Baxter Pharma?

America’s North Shore blog clearly shows and increase in the number of cases- to the tune of 700 more cases per day. http://northshorejournal.org/is-swine-flu-or-novel-h1n1-in-decline-in-the-us

David Fedson, a vaccines expert and former professor of medicine at the University of Virginia. “If we don’t invest in an H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine, then possibly we could have a reappearance of this virus in a mild, moderate, or catastrophic form and we would have absolutely nothing.”

Exxxxcccuuuuse me? Where is the hope for an aids vaccine or even an antibiotic against staph infections- due to an increase in MRSA; which because of drug resistance are much harder to treat?  These world wide death tolls and infection rates are staggering.

The latest statistics on the world epidemic of AIDS & HIV were published by UNAIDSEstimateEstimate Range Range/WHO in July 2008, and refer to the end of 2007.

  Estimate Range
People living with HIV/AIDS in 2007 33.0 million 30.3-36.1 million
Adults living with HIV/AIDS in 2007 30.8 million 28.2-34.0 million
Women living with HIV/AIDS in 2007 15.5 million 14.2-16.9 million
Children living with HIV/AIDS in 2007 2.0 million 1.9-2.3 million
People newly infected with HIV in 2007 2.7 million 2.2-3.2 million
Children newly infected with HIV in 2007 0.37 million 0.33-0.41 million
AIDS deaths in 2007 2.0 million 1.8-2.3 million
Child AIDS deaths in 2007 0.27 million 0.25-0.29 million

More than 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981. sourced from http://www.avert.org/worldstats.htm

According to the world Health Organization, the number of people diagnosed with cancer will rise to 26.4 million of which 17 million will die, triple the number of today’s patients. http://news.ert.gr/en/23084-triplasiazontai-ta-krousmata-karkinou-mexri-to-2030.htm

Cholera can be treated in nearly 99% of cases http://diarrhea.emedtv.com/cholera/cholera-cure.html yet in Zimbabwe alone the number of cholera cases has climbed to 100,000 with 4,283 deaths according to The Red Cross http://www.ifrc.org/docs/news/pr09/2709.asp.  Clean water is the first step to prevention but the Red Cross has decreased funding.  2007 IRS filing http://www.redcross.org/www-files/Documents/pdf/corppubs/ARC_990_2008.pdf shows revenue of a staggering $31.8 Billion.

Still funding goes to vaccines for the unknown, the new H1N1 Swine Flu.  While H1N1 is a new variable what happens if it merges with the more deadly Avian Flu.  Can it merge with Aids?

I am ready to order some mushroom soup, crab stuffed mushrooms, mushroom quiche, beef stroganoff with mushrooms; but I will pass on the mushroom sorbet.  Man’s got to draw the line somewhere.  Instead give me the double fried cheesecake, topped with strawberries and loads of whipped cream.  If the shrooms don’t boost my immune system at least when they roll my sorry ass into a casket- from whatever illness there is no cure from, I will have died one fat happy mother Fred.

People before profits?  Just add the automatic 20% tip charge please.

The CDC has this to say on a cure and prevention besides determining that this new H1N1 virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human  – http://www.cdc.gov/H1N1flu/qa.htm.

NorthKmissile

North Korea isn’t the only country that has missile capability to hit the USA, and they are clearly taking aim not only at Alaska; but at The New World Order that they want no part of.  North Korea is one of the world’s most secretive societies next to the Illuminati.

While the Illuminati existence is arguable, North Korea officially named the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,  remains under strict communist rule and clouded in secrecy.  Supreme Leader Kim Jong-il has headed up a hard lined state controlled, totalitarian system since 1998.  It’s dismal economy, numerous natural disasters, and human rights failures have not stopped its nuclear ambitions, but have increased its ongoing isolation from the outside world and by all accounts Kim Jong-il likes it that way.

Unapologetic, they do as they please.   Who is going to stop them?  Al Jazeera reports, “Warning the North that its actions will “no longer be rewarded”, James Steinberg, the US deputy secretary of state,  told Lee Myung-bak, the South Korean president, that “North Korea would be mistaken if it thinks it can make provocations and then get what it wants through negotiation as it did in the past. The US won’t repeat the same mistake again”.

America in the past has done what it deems necessary to maintain our unprecedented freedoms.  Should the rest of the world have the same privilege? Is is in our best interest to demilitarize, while North Korea fires away numerous missiles and continues to hold underground nuclear tests?  GWB said it best, “You are either with us or against us in the fight against terror.”

North Korea has one of the world’s largest armies even though the west claims standards in training, discipline and equipment are reported to be poor.  One thing they have excelled at is the building of tunnels along the border with South Korea, leading into Seoul.  Tunnel Hunters claim to have evidence that at least 20 others have been dug in 2005.  Tunnels reaching 60 miles toward the heart of Seoul and capable of moving thousands of troops within hours. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/2982213.stm

I doubt North Korea will barely bat an eye at the fact that “The United States has agreed to sell “bunker-buster” bombs to South Korea that are capable of destroying underground facilities in North Korea, a military official said Tuesday. ”   They wont be be delivered to South Korea until sometime between 2010 and 2014 http://www.spacewar.com/2006/090602122750.0ln21iq0.html.  – 4 years? 4 years too late.

The Obama budget has numerous military cuts and that may be the reason for the delay.  Ironically, Obama has proposed shutting down Yucca Mountain nuclear storage facility.  I wonder where he intends to store the nuclear waste instead?  Just keep it in loaded on a missile warhead? Obama still has no plan for the Gitmo detainees for heaven’s sake.

Read the Obama budget here http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/02/26/fy10.budget.pdf

Just imagine what Kim Jong-il thinks when Obama reads his TelePrompter to talk about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the fact that we still have not found Bin Laden- who is most likely hiding in the tunnels.  Bin Laden continues his threats in this most recent tape saying “Obama and his administration have sown new seeds to increase hatred and revenge on America,” at http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=10576368  Obama is on a world tour trying to keeping peace with the Muslims without pissing off Israel, who also has nuclear capability.

An American military official confirmed an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking the U.S. was being readied and it appears capable of reaching Alaska,  said Fox News.   Satellite images from the GlobalSecurity website show the new Tongchang-ni launch site in the North’s west coast near China.  A missile with armed with a  nuclear warhead, even with a miss, would most certainly impact the population and environment.  In 2003 a NK Missile warhead was found previously in Alaska http://able2know.org/topic/4901-1.

Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan left for Washington to consult with his counterpart (Hillary Clinton, perhaps?) and prepare for a June 16 summit between Obama and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.  Reports have suggested that North Korea may try to time its next missile launch to coincide with the summit.

It would be the perfect time to once again show the might of not only North Korea but of the technology that America supplied to them in the first place.  http://www.infowars.com/north-koreas-nukes-paid-for-by-the-us-government/ reports, “Rumsfeld was also the man who presided over a $200 million dollar contract to deliver equipment and services to build two light water reactor stations in North Korea in January 2000 when he was an executive director of ABB (Asea Brown Boveri).  In The New World Order, I guess we share and share alike, eh?

In April 2009 North Korea walked out of talks aimed at ending its nuclear activities.  “Senior U.S. diplomats pressed North Korea on Wednesday to halt its belligerent behavior and return to nuclear disarmament talks even as the isolated communist nation pushed ahead with preparations to launch a long-range ballistic missile….The U.N. Security Council meanwhile continued to discuss how to punish the North.” says http://www.thestate.com/world/story/812144.html.  Punish them just how?  Attack, invade, sanctions that have never worked?  By calling them belligerent?  Economic sanctions to an already starving nation?

Weapons of mass destruction can be a deterrent, look at the atomic bombs dropped America dropped on Japan.  It took not one bomb but two- Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  Somewhere along the lines, America had become the world’s defender of The New World Order and globalization; but where Obama takes us, only the future will tell but,  “At almost every stop, Obama has made clear that the U.S. is but one actor in a global community.  Talk of American economic supremacy has been replaced by a call from Obama for more growth in developing countries. Claims of American military supremacy have been replaced with heavy emphasis on cooperation and diplomatic hard labor.” according to Time http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1889512,00.html

North Korea is playing by its own rules and making the game up as it goes along.  So far in America, The New World Order has resulted in something like a staggering half a million dollar debt per family according to Evergreen Securities, let alone the millions of jobs lost.  Seems Obama is playing by his own rules and making the game up as he goes along.

It is just as staggering in The New World Order to have a rogue leader who defies what the rest of the world finds appropriate.

Are we talking about Kim Jong-il or Obama?

photo props to GlobalSecurity.

Thirsty?  How about some chlorine to go with the fluoride and pharmaceutical remnants in your water?  The unending list of contaminants in water and elsewhere — now often called “micro-constituents” appears to be endless.

Contaminants now commonly found in drinking water include tiny traces of pesticides, herbicides, flame retardants, DEET, mosquito repellent, aircraft de-icers, lead, arsenic, mercury and esters, ketone’s and other chemicals found in personal care products. Not to mention additives in toothpaste meant to retard gum and tooth disease. http://www.wqpmag.com/Safe-for-Drinking-article9121

“Like many US Cities, Palm Beach County plans to flush its water lines with chlorine, which could cause a slight taste and odor in tap water later this month.  The stronger disinfection process to clean out water lines will be from June 15 to July 15. Those sensitive to the taste and odor can fill a container with tap water and keep it open in the refrigerator for a few hours to allow the chlorine to dissipate. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/content/local_news/epaper/2009/06/01/0601chlorine.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=76  The refrigerator?

“Adding chlorine to the water can produce byproducts such as iron oxide, magnesium oxide or calcium oxide, it can also produce trihalomethanes (THMs), including the most often reported THM member—chloroform.” http://www.wqpmag.com/Safe-for-Drinking-article9121

So much for green infrastructure under the Obama Administration.  Water programs and the US Environmental Protection Agency would see huge boosts in the detailed budget for FY2010 released by President Obama but he also terminated funding for 301 earmarks for water projects.  http://www.awwa.org/Publications/StreamlinesArticle.cfm?ItemNumber=48230

obamawater

If you find yourself thirsty for change, Obama water is on sale.  The plastic bottles may contain polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as the toxins may leach into the water but research is on going.  Oh Barack, how refreshing!

The administration has written to Senate and House committees urging them to act on bills that would restore federal jurisdiction over all wetlands and streams in the U.S..  “The Clean Water Act was broadly interpreted by the courts and federal regulators as shielding all the waters of the United States — seasonal streams and remote wetlands as well as lakes and large navigable rivers. The basic idea was that even the smallest waters have some connection to larger watersheds, and that they, too, need to be protected from pollution and development.”  http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/02/opinion/02tue3.html?_r=1

The gederal governement defines water here- http://www.epa.gov/wetlands/guidance/CWAwaters.html

As if the Federal Land Management Grab Act wasn’t enough, the federal government under Obama; not the states, not municipalities, not you who fishes in your backyard pond will have any control over private or public lakes, streams or ponds.   Want to build a nice deck, a gazebo, a boat dock, a swimming float?  Forgeddabout it.  Say nothing of governments right to seizure.

Mix chemical laced water with a pack of kool-aid, loaded with Nutrasweet or Splenda, and your all set for another Obama intrusion on your personal property rights.  Might as well add the Absolut Vodka; we are absolutely loosing another of our rights.

Don’t even get me started on New Yorks bottle bill.  http://www.observer.com/term/bottle-bill

The EPA offers this http://www.epa.gov/safewater/dwh/index.html on drinking water and health.

google war dead

Just when you thought you heard all the Memorial Day stories, May 25th was also Towel Day.  Created as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). Adams was mostly noted for as the author of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series.  Adams’ official biography shares its name with the song “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd.

So why a towel to honor someone?  A towel (…) is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value…More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitchhiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. http://www.towelday.org/faq/index.html

If Adams were alive today, I am sure he find all of this quite humorous.

I decided to forgo carrying a towel yesterday.  Had I, it would have been to wipe away tears for the dead and the surviving families from wars.

Google Earth has a new map to honor the more than 5,700 American and Coalition servicemen and women that have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each figure on the map denotes a service member lost during the last six years. Tied to their hometown, each figure pops up a screen that gives information about that fallen troop.  It is a work in progress,

http://www.mapthefallen.org/ Look at this map, and explore the stories of heroism and sacrifice made across this nation and across the world. Although this map only shows the hometowns and places of death for these soldiers, it’s important to remember that each of these servicemen and women have a rich story in between, which leads me to something a Gold Star mom recently shared with me:

“There’ll be two dates on your tombstone
And all your friends will read ’em
But all that’s gonna matter is that little dash between ’em…”

Ain’t it the truth.
United States armed forces deaths in Operation Iraqi Freedom, starting with the invasion on March 20th, 2003 has a current tally of 4300. http://www.fixiraq.com/ Cost of the War in Iraq

Late as usual, we all made it dressed in red, white and blue to our little podunk parade.  One of our elected officials also flies C-130’s, so we got a treat of a fly by at maybe 1500 feet overhead.  AWESOME.

Just one of thousand’s of parades, but the best part comes at the conclusion. The flag raising, playing of the National Anthem, and the 21 gun salute which sounded more like cap guns still all convince me that there is no greater country than America and how much a privilege it is to live here to be able to attend even a hokey ceremony.

The village mayor and a local Reverend did the speeches honoring all who have served and both reminded us that Memorial Day is about remembrance.  President Obama in another major gaffe had this to say- “On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.”  Dead people in the crowd, huh?

Noting that Memorial Day is not Veteran’s Day – http://politicalderby.com/2009/05/25/obama-needs-to-google-memorial-day/ had this to say, “Hey, weren’t you the one that was considering a plan to make veterans pay for their medical treatment?  At any rate, I find it disheartening that he would lump us all in the category of ‘not paying respect to veterans’ to cover up his own shortcomings in that department. Newsflash Obama-wan: There are many of us who hold the utmost respect for those who have worn the uniform, served, and given his life for the cause of freedom. Many of us already celebrate Memorial Day (not Veteran’s Day) by honoring the brave men and women who have died to protect our freedoms and liberties. And there are many of us who would rather spend federal money on our military than converter boxes for digital television.”

“We at American Grand Jury are still asking the presumed president to stand up, become a man and quit hiding. Before you Mr. Obama are the charges of Eligibility and Treason. You speak of honor and integrity to the our fighting men yet you hide the truth from them as no president has ever done before.” http://www.oilforimmigration.org/facts/?p=1886

Our flags are flying, the pool is open, beers are cold, hot dogs ready, pasta salad made.  I wonder if the Obama’s will be eating Kobe beef burgers, maybe lobsters from Boston?  Salad from the thousand dollar organic White House Garden?

Americans are to observe the National Moment of Remembrance beginning at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day.  I wonder if  Janet Napolitano is worried about all those military extremists on this most special of days.

God Bless America.  Don’t get drunk and drive.

“Bacon tastes good, Pork Chops tastes good. A sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie but I’d never know cause I’d never eat the filthy mother fu%^er.” God love Quentin Tarantino and the domestic pig- Sus scrofa.  Tarantino’s new movie  Inglourious Basterds, is about a band of Jewish-American soldiers on a scalp-hunting revenge quest against the Nazis which is to have its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20.  The film may or may not have pigs in it.

All those holier than thou folks that avoid pig have no idea just how good pig tastes let alone how much the pig has provided for humanity.  Besides being one of the most commonly consumed meats, we use almost every part of the pig for one thing or another.

Bones & skin are used for glue, pigskin garments, gloves, shoes and footballs.  Hair is used for artist’s brushes, insulation, upholstery. Dried bones are used for buttons, bone china.  Pigs are a source of nearly 40 drugs and pharmaceuticals such as insulin. Animal insulins saved millions of lives.   Pig heart valves are surgically implanted in humans to replace diseased valves.

Recipients of pig valves to repair heart damage put religious beliefs aside when it comes to saving their own ass.

The Jews and surprisingly, Christians are forbidden from eating pork. Here is a quote from the Old Testament to that effect: “And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.” Deuteronomy 14:8

The 3,000 year old Confucian Book of Rites says, “A gentleman does not eat the flesh of pigs and dogs.” Ancient China recognized pork-eating as the root of many human ailments. Buddhists, Jains and Hindus usually avoid eating any kind of meat. The verses 2:173, 5:3, 6:145, and 16:115 of the Qur’an forbids Muslims by God to eat the meat of the pig.

Seeing as so many religions bar the eating of pig, it’s no wonder the pig is often a lucky charm, sort of a rabbits foot if you will-in Germany, Austria, England, and Ireland, as well as some Anglo Americans. The tradition is that pigs bring good luck — especially at the New Year — is apparently Teutonic in origin. The Chinese Zodiac says those born in the Year of The Pig are is a fun and enlightening personality blessed with patience and understanding. People born under the sign of the Pig enjoy life and all it has to offer, including family and friends.

In Cincinnati, they have the flying pig marathon.  http://www.flyingpigmarathon.com/ .  http://www.pigradio.com/ offer music on line. Feed the pig reminds us to save our pennies with the most ridiculous looking animated piggy bank  I have ever seen http://www.feedthepig.org/. For a fabulous peanut butter cheese tart recipe check out http://noblepig.com/ and http://recipe.com has a whole list of delightful pork recipes from on the grill, the frying pan, the oven and even the microwave.  http://www.pigradio.com/ offer music.  Should you be so inclined to raise pigs- http://raisingpigs.blogspot.com/

Twenty countries have banned imports of pigs, pork and other meat in response to the H1N1 flu strain that has infected both people and swine. This despite the fact that the Centers for Disease Control and others have made it clear that swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food and you cannot get the flu from eating pork or pork products. The National Pork Producers Council has a flurry of new ads reminding people that pork is safe. pork is safe

From WAPO  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/10/AR2009051002064_pf.html “The U.S. pork industry, battered by import bans by nearly two dozen countries worried about the H1N1 flu outbreak, could soon receive some help from the government, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Thursday.”  While tracing the lineage of H1N1 flu, a pork industry bailout might lay in tax payer’s future.

On the anniversary of reggae artist Bob Marley’s death,5.11 http://encyclopedia.tfd.com/Bob+Marley many of Marley’s songs contained Biblical references, sometimes using wordplay to fuse activism and religion, as in “Revolution” and “Revelation”:

  Revelation reveals the truth …
It takes a revolution to make a solution …

H1N1 Swine Flu is indeed a revolution in genetic mutation that appears to have been created and released in a lab in Russia or China, not from a pig in Mexico.  How science and governments find a solution is yet to be determined.  In the mean time, give me my eggs and bacon for breakfast, a hot sausage sandwich smothered in peppers and onions and pork chops for dinner.  Note to self- remember cholesterol meds.

Yep, pig is good.  The flu, not so good.

Find the nearest FEMA camp near you.

60,ooo people are in evacuation zones.  Ten fixed-wing aircrafts and 15 helicopters are on the scene.  The governor has declared Santa Barbara, California to be in a state of emergency.  Limited power outages are being reported.  This is not FEMA in charge of a pandemic flu eruption, it is the Jesusita Fire, burning thousands of acres, destroying homes.http://www.countyofsb.org/ceo/oes0.aspx?id=2332

Come rain or shine, your government and FEMA stand ready to help you in the event of disasters like hurricanes, fire, or flu!

Two years before Katrina, in 2003, Congress appropriated money under the auspice of a goal of effective digital mapping of floodplains for 90 percent of the U.S. population by 2010.   20,000 communities appears to be at risk in The National Flood Insurance Program Community Status Book http://www.fema.gov/fema/csb.shtm.  A bonus point is awarded to the government, as the study funded aerial surveillance images of 20,000 communities.  The collection of the digital data that are used in GIS systems for supposedly creating new Flood Insurance Rate Maps can be found in detail at http://geospatial.edublogs.org/2009/03/26/united-states-fema-flood-plains-zones/fdnka

H.R. 645 IH, `National Emergency Centers Establishment Act’, directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish national emergency centers on military installations, aka FEMA Camps.  If our soldiers are too busy fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan we could rely on H.R. 1388, The Give Act or The Serve America Act which has six versions before congress.  All versions outline required and eligible national service, aka national Civilian Community Corps programs,http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.1388, Section 10 – including opportunities for participation in emergency and disaster preparedness, relief, and recovery. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c111:6:./temp/~c111Dyc0uT:e634

The Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California, is the nation’s largest base and the principal U.S. training facility for Marines and sailors deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. 30 Marines have been quarantined after one became the first U.S. serviceman known to have contracted the swine flu virus.  http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSTRE53T02920090430  If the flu virus spread to 8,000 soldiers at 29 Palms they would be rendered useless for pandemic assistance. Obama could rely upon the Civilian Community Corps or a militarized FEMA. Skip to my lou my darling, right over the National Guard.

29 Palms is also home of the alleged, “Would you shoot  an American Quiz?”  where Marines refused to answer if they would target American citizens for gun confiscation if ordered to do so.  http://www.knowthelies.com/?q=node/3925

Then there’s this little diddy.

TITLE:Emergency Assistance for Human Influenza Pandemic, Disaster Assistance Policy 9523.17
DATE:March 31, 2007
PURPOSE: Establish the types of emergency protective measures that are eligible under the Public Assistance Program during a Federal response to an outbreak of human influenza pandemic in the U.S. and its territories…  more at http://www.fema.gov/government/grant/pa/9523_17.shtmybe

Section IV-
A second wave of global spread should be anticipated within a year, based on past experience.
SectionVII
Management, control, and reduction of immediate threats to public health and safety.
Movement of supplies and persons.
Security forces, barricades and fencing, and warning devices.
Mass mortuary services.
Recovery and disposal of animal carcasses (except if another federal authority funds the activity – e.g., U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal, Plant and Health Inspection Service provides for removal and disposal of livestock). What, like flu infected pigs, birds, or cows?

Fema also heads up the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP). Designed to protect the critical infrastructure and key resources (CI/KR) of the United States is essential to the Nation’s security, public health and safety, economic vitality, and way of life.  http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/NIPP_Plan.pdf

Maybe Elvis himself is working on a PATRIOT Act III or even Internet III.  Perhaps it would contain an amendment to overturn posse comitatus, then FEMA could be militarized and Obama wouldn’t  have to rely solely on paid volunteers who sign up for the national service program.  Unless of course they all have the flu as well.  What if America can not service its debt, the printing presses stop and our economy comes to a halt? Would FEMA maintain control in an economically collapsed, flu infected, fire torched, flood ravaged nation through a military dictatorship led by Obama?

12.160Mhz website lists suspected FEMA “Concentration”  Camps  http://snardfarker.ning.com/profiles/blogs/list-of-active-fema.  Above Top Secret http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread24903/pg1  suggests these  locations as potential FEMA Camps. There is a whole shit load of Executive Orders that in theory could render the power of FEMA as absolute including these from http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread24903/pg1.

Sourced from lots of conspiracy spots, “The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a “mass exodus” of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. Rex 84 allowed many military bases to be closed down and to be turned into prisons. Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper purpose. Garden Plot is the program to control the population. Cable Splicer is the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government.”

Is the Swine Flu that originated in Mexico a test run for the Rex 84 Program? Is the most recent declared health emergency test of FEMA ability to execute and control? An official FEMA National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09) is scheduled for July 27 through July 31, 2009. NLE 09 will be the first major exercise conducted by the United States government that will focus exclusively on terrorism prevention and protection, as opposed to incident response and recovery.  http://www.fema.gov/media/fact_sheets/nle09.shtm

If you’re a victim of the pandemic flu you definitely need to be in isolation.   Off you go to camp.  Refuse a mandatory vaccination?  Off you go to camp.  Qualify as a Homeland Security Threat?  Off you go to camp.  A threat to national security by going to church, owning a gun, having more than 2.5 children?  Off you go. Conspiracy or factual evidence of collusion, Liberty for Life http://www.libertyforlife.com/jail-police/us-concentration_camp-locations.htm  continues to outlines some potential cases of off you go.

While the flu pandemic for the time being seems to be subsiding who knows what lies ahead during future flu seasons.  Obama is gearing up for the possibility of issuing 3 flu shots- 2 for swine flu and 1 for the common flu. Is ordering new flu shots, not knowing the severity of the Swine Flu’s illness or its vaccine efficacy part of Operation Garden Plot leaving an opening for FEMA to have more control? Is Obama heeding the Fema warning with good conscience that, “A second wave of global spread should be anticipated within a year, based on past experience?”

Does FEMA has the authority to maintain order and create chaos in and of itself?  With the risk of flood, flu, fire, hurricanes, global warming, a declining economy- one might decide to have a few drinks to celebrate that America for all her faults, is still the best country in the world.  Oh hell, click here to enlarge : a map showing % of binge drinkers (adults having five or more drinks on one occasion). courtesy if the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System GIS data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. http://geospatial.edublogs.org/2009/04/13/united-states-cdc-behavioral-risk-factor-surveillance-system-brfss/  .

Cheers anyways. If your not ready to imbibe ck out The National Map Seamless Server for a unique look at America.   http://seamless.usgs.gov/website/seamless/viewer.htm
