Amish mourn and pray after students are massacred

Described as a Conservative Christian and family man, Charles Carl Roberts, 32, was married and a father of three. On October 2, 2006 he entered a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Lancaster,Pa, took 10 girls hostage, shot them killing five of them before taking his own life as police stormed into the school by breaking through the window. A pregnant woman, three parents with infants, and all fifteen male students were told to leave the school by Roberts.
The reports claim he had been planning the attacks for a week and had brought along wood 2x4s, eye hooks, nails, and chains presumably to be used for securing the victims, and KY jelly apparently to sexually assault the girls.
They were shot execution style in the back of the head. The victims — Naomi Rose Ebersole, 7; Marian Fisher, 13; Mary Liz Miller, 8; and her sister Lena Miller, 7 ; Anna Mae Stoltzfus, 12.
The Amish community after the events put emphasis on forgiveness and reconciliation. An Amish neighbor came the same night to the Roberts’ home and offered forgiveness to the family. Judgment is in God’s hands: `Judge not, that ye be not judged.'”
The West Nickel Mines School was torn down was demolished the following week leaving a quiet pasture. A new one-room schoolhouse, the New Hope School, was built at another location.
The tragedy inspired a Lancaster County man to write about the power of forgiveness. Author Jonas Beiler grew up in an old order Amish family, wrote the book “Think No Evil” http://www.wgal.com/news/21061462/detail.html. His wife is Auntie Anne’s Pretzels founder Anne Beiler. Beiler also had insight into Roberts’ story. The pecking order of who gets the Influenza H1N1 Monovalent Flu Vaccine begins.
USA today had this to say, “Even hospitals will have to dole out the vaccine carefully, because they initially won’t get enough for their entire staffs. “So they’ll make decisions” about who’s vaccinated first, says Gregory Poland, an infectious-diseases specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. “It’s reasonable that the nurse that works in the neonatal ICU will get it first and someone in dietary services will get it later.” http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-10-01-swine-flu-vaccine_N.htm
We wouldn’t want value some one who handles the food in a hospital that feeds patients above a nurse. A nurse might see 50 patients while the food service worker might spread a virus to 1000’s.
The article goes on to state, “No matter how much health officials tout the vaccine as safe — “It’s 1,000 times safer than getting the flu,” says John Bartlett, director of the Center for Civilian Biodefense Strategies at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health — some people remain fearful.”
Give me a break- mere weeks of testing and Biodefense Strategies can not comprehend why anyone wouldn’t question efficacy and are fearful of lasting repercussions. How much federal funding does John Hopkins get to spew propaganda?
Lest we forget that this Sept., it was noted that, “The Children’s National Medical Center is getting a $150M gift from the government of Abu Dhabi—’one of the largest philanthropic donations ever made to a U.S. pediatric hospital,’ Susan Kinzie reports in WaPo. ‘The Persian Gulf country has given large sums to Johns Hopkins Medicine and other U.S. institutions. But the gift was arranged by Joseph E. The military’s vaccine, produced by Michigan-based Bioport Corp., was approved based on a human test in the 1950s that studied textile workers at risk for the disease because they routinely handled infected imported goat hair. Since the 1950’s we have seen an increase in viruses mutating and jumping species. What does the Swine Flu and the Child Nutrition Act have in common?
Every day during the school year, more than 30 million children receive free or reduced-price lunches under the federal National School Lunch Program, and 10 million get breakfast under the National School Breakfast Program. The vegetarians and animal rights groups are trying to eliminate meat from school programs as the Child Nutrition Act is about to expire TODAY- September 30, 2009. “Organizations also are calling for the programs to include less or no processed meat, claiming that such “high-fat” products are contributing to obesity, heart disease and cancer.” Like taking your kid to McDonald’s doesn’t?
…during congressional debate on the Child Nutrition Act is the safety of food. People want to know — as well they should — that the food they eat is free from pathogens that can cause illness and even death. Recent food-safety scares, ironically involving fruits and vegetables, have prompted Congress to review the nation’s food-safety system. This may spawn efforts to include in the child nutrition law new safety regimens for food production, limits on antibiotic use and restrictions on certain animal production practices.”
“The National Pork Producers Council is lobbying members of Congress to keep such mischief out of the Child Nutrition Act and to oppose efforts to reduce or eliminate pork from the school breakfast and lunch menus.”
The irony in citing food safety is that there is no mention of Swine Flu. Twenty countries have banned imports of pigs, pork and other meat in response to the H1N1 flu strain that has infected both people and swine. This despite the fact that the Centers for Disease Control and the Pork Industry and others have made it clear that swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food and you cannot get the flu from eating pork or pork products.

…one potential source of the original outbreak—swine farming in concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs)—has received comparatively little attention by public health officials. CAFOs house animals by the thousands in crowded indoor facilities. But the same economy-of-scale efficiencies that allow CAFOs to produce affordable meat for so many consumers also facilitate the mutation of viral pathogens into novel strains that can be passed on to farm workers and veterinarians, according to Gregory Gray, director of the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases at the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
Civil Eats goes on to note- CAFOs fall through regulatory cracks when it comes to sampling for novel viruses that could make people sick. [Associate director for epidemiologic science in the Influenza Division of the CDC Carolyn Bridges] explains that producers have little incentive to test for swine influenza’s, in part because they aren’t included on a list of 150 “reportable illnesses” that, when detected, must be documented with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

| There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic. America isn’t the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn’t mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:
Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”
Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.
They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.
They can see that the economy — ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation — is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.
They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.
They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America’s troop strength is allowed to sag.
They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.
They can see the nation’s safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.
So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?
Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran’s nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?
What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?
Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?
Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.
Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.
Military intervention is what Obama’s exponentially accelerating agenda for “fundamental change” toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama’s radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.
Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don’t shrug and say, “We can always worry about that later.”
In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.

I clearly understand the intent of the author is to say he and many members of the military do not agree with President Obama’s policies and seek an alternative to the direction our country is heading. So do a lot of people. While The President’s poll numbers are slipping, to suggest a domestic military intervention could happen is wrong- but it is the author’s opinion.
Should the article have been removed?
I don’t think so.
While I defend the office of President and disagree with his politics, he is The Commander and Chief of the greatest nation on earth and is still deserving of the respect of the office.
Perry wrote “So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?” We say, you take orders and do as you are told. Period. You do not attempt to overthrow government and oust President Obama- that is the voters job! Suggesting an uprising is degrading to the military personnel who fight the current wars and is equally offensive to veterans.
You think those soldiers who went to Vietnam totally agreed with American policy at the time?
The article should stand as a reminder to freedom of speech and Perry’s opinion. Removing it is censorship and curtailing freedom of the press. I don’t have to agree or disagree, but I can sure as $hit flip to a new web site in a matter of seconds.
I’d like to turn off health care reform, ACORN, the Olympic endeavor and other Obama propaganda with a wave of the wand (and Katie Couric too), instead we rant about politics and life here, just like Perry does on Newsmax. While we do not suggest a military over throw, we also hope no one decides to remove and delete our posts either.

Was IBM being prudent to prepare for a pandemic or did they have some sort of involvement in it?

The A/H1N1 Swine Influenza has not been contained. As it looks now, there are three choices for humans-
1. You have a natural immunity for whatever reason, you will not get it and you live another day.
2. You get the flu with all it’s symptoms, survive, and live another day.
3. You die
Reading here you would think we would offer the vaccine as the fourth option. Sorry Charlie, but the side effects and efficacy rates are so far removed from any base of reality that if you choose to get the vaccine or the flu mist, the ingredient list alone could kill you. None of the patient inserts from the vaccine manufacturers claim the vaccine will prevent you from the H1N1 Swine Flu.
If IBM was so ready to jump on the bandwagon, where is the tracking system for the flu that would monitor outbreaks with efficiency rather than estimates from the CDC and WHO. It has only taken 6 months to procure a vaccine, while IBM’s best programmers had 3 years to develop a migration and reporting program.

Not far from the Samoa Island Region lies the Marshall Islands, the site of the Pacific Proving Grounds where the U.S. tested 66 nuclear weapons including the largest nuclear test the US ever conducted- Castle Bravo yielding 15 megatons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Bravo In terms of TNT tonnage equivalence, Castle Bravo was about 1,200 times more powerful than the atomic bombs which were Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII.
The Marshall islands today, continues to primarily function as a test facility for U.S. missile defense and space research programs. A high bandwidth submarine fiber optic transmission system provides encrypted connectivity between KMCC and the entire range complex. KMCC processes realtime state vector data from radar tracks using target complex processing algorithms to determine the best choice cueing data for each sensor. Another, unincorporated territory of the United States is the North Pacific Ocean is The Johnston Atoll, 2.8 km²at 16°45′ N 169°30′ W, about one-third of the way from Hawaii to the Marshall Islands. The area was a U.S. nuclear weapons test site and later the site of the Johnston Atoll Chemical Agent Disposal System (JACADS). The island is not open to the public so we have no idea what, if anything goes on there. I’d suspect water damage being as the epicenter was pretty close at 172.093°W.
