Blah, blah, blah,  the attitude of the African melody “Kum Ba Ya,”  where the lyrics say someone is crying, singing and praying couldn’t be more true. It is the hearts of the religious faithful that are becoming more dismissive of both The Pope and Obama. The translation of “Kum Ba Ya” means come by here, but more and more we see people turning from God and religion.  We have until the election of 2012 to see people turn from Obama, but it’s already begun.

The UN is attempting to negotiate anti-blasphemy” language and references to Israel widely seen as anti-Semitic at its conference on racism, “Durban II” in Geneva where numerous countries have chosen to pull out of attendance.  The document mentions only Christians, Jews, and Muslims as potential victims of “phobias,” and the IHEU’s briefing paper asks delegates to either remove any names of specific groups, or if not, to add “Atheists, unbelievers and apostates” to the list.  http://www.examiner.com/x-4275-DC-Secularism-Examiner~y2009m3d22-Diplomats-dump-defamation-of-religion-language-from-UN-racism-conference-Good-enough Anyone who thinks phobias are the real reason to to attend this conference ought to be buying at Timothy Geithner’s assist auctions.  It is all about hate, plain and simple.

$2.4 Billion dollars is going to be made available for U.S. based development of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles from the Obama administration.  http://www.lowimpactliving.com/blog/2009/03/22/president-obama-announces-24-billion-in-funding-for-electric-vehicles/  At the same time  Obama’s proposed 2010 federal budget contains a 7% cut in charitable tax deductions.  Houses of worship are among the list of casualties of the mortgage crisis and donations to the church are going to plummet at the very time so many need help both spiritually and financially. 

The Pope is speaking in Africa, understandably in opposition to the use of condoms to stop the spread of AIDS.  While it is unrealistic and dangerous, it is within the church’s teachings to promote sex in the sanctity of marriage.   Surely The Pope realize over 25 million people have AIDS and are born with it, but he has not wavered in the church teachings.    Obama at the other end of the spectrum almost signed Nancy Pelosi’s bailout bullshit provision that would have paid for condoms and abortions with our tax dollars.

Obama is going to address the graduates of Notre Dame University at commencement.  The preeminent Catholic university in America will bestow upon him an honorary degree when he stands against what most Catholics believe, obfuscating everything from traditional marriage to abortion.   “It is an outrage and a scandal that “Our Lady’s University,” one of the premier Catholic universities in the United States, would bestow such an honor on President Obama given his clear support for policies and laws that directly contradict fundamental Catholic teachings on life and marriage. This nation has many thousands of accomplished leaders in the Catholic Church, in business, in law, in education, in politics, in medicine, in social services, and in many other fields who would be far more appropriate choices to receive such an honor from the University of Notre Dame.  Instead Notre Dame has chosen prestige over principles, popularity over morality. Whatever may be President Obama’s admirable qualities, this honor comes on the heels of some of the most anti-life actions of any American president, including expanding federal funding for abortions and inviting taxpayer-funded research on stem cells from human embryos.’ http://notredamescandal.com/ at The Cardinal Newman Center at Notre Dame.

Students had this to say in a letter to Pres., Fr. Jenkins, “the University should also use Pres. Obama’s visit as an opportunity to reiterate its commitment to the teachings of the Church and the sanctity of life. We ask that you consider making a public statement, if not at the Commencement exercises themselves then in a highly visible public forum, distancing yourself and the University from his views, making it clear that the University disagrees in no uncertain terms with his views on the unborn, which stand in contrast to that of the Church’s stance of protecting the most defenseless and voiceless among us. Awarding him an honorary degree without making clear that the University disapproves of his stance on issues regarding the sanctity of human life would be a disrespect to those students who, like ourselves, chose to attend this University based not only on its status as one of the country’s premier institutions of higher learning, but a school that takes pride in its Catholic foundation and identity. ”  http://www.nd.edu/~pbrown6/ObamaVisitLetter.html

The Catholic Bishops summed it up pretty clearly, “The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. Post update 03-24-09 From The Huffington Post.  The Roman Catholic bishop whose diocese includes the University of Notre Dame says he will boycott President Barack Obama’s May 17 commencement speech at the Catholic school because of Obama’s support for abortion rights and embryonic stem-cell research.  Bishop John D’Arcy is the head of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
