The wars of religion vs science and capitalism vs socialism continue.  As we prepare to celebrate Easter and Passover, is it possible that we will see a continuation of divergence?  Can we hope that it is possible that these battles will end, and we can all play nicely together?

Keith Lockitch, Ph.D. in physics, and a fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute in Irvine, CA wrote, “At first glance, this seems to exemplify a kind of harmony between religion and science, a peaceful concord between faith and reason. Indeed, a variety of public figures—from prominent scientists to the Pope—have promoted the view that science and religion are not adversaries but complementary and mutually supporting fields. “Truth cannot contradict truth,” they declare, implying that the truths discovered by reasoning from sensory evidence cannot clash with the “truths” of religious dogma.” http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=5139

Truths do contradict truths, everyday. Reality and truth are only what you perceive and believe in.

Religions of the world argue and fight in the name of God.  Scientists argue over Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, although the book Finding God in The Heat of The Battle, David J. Turell writes of discoveries that logically God exists, beyond a reasonable doubt. http://sciencevsreligion.net/  Even The Vatican is clarifying that Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution is compatible with its doctrine after all!

Evolution opponents are adapting. Now that “intelligent design” and “creation science” have failed in court, the new catch phrase, the New York Times reports, is “strengths and weaknesses.” It might seem innocuous, but critics say it’s yet another tactic to undermine the teaching of evolution in schools. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/04/us/04evolution.html?_r=1  Lest you forget, global warming is also taught in school along with abstinence.

Father Giuseppe Tanzella-Nitti, Professor of Theology at the Pontifical Santa Croce University in Rome says, As for the Origins of Man, although we shared 97 per cent of our “genetic inheritance” with apes, the remaining 3 per cent “is what makes us unique”, including religion. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article5705331.ece  More monkey business will be discussed at  a papal-backed conference next month marking the 150th anniversary of Darwin’s On the Origin of Species.  Rembrandt’s masterpiece “The Three Crosses”, is a stunning depiction of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=3707

The Foundation for Scientific Research, an Islamic creationist group is widely disseminating a 13 pound, 768-page tome that slams evolution and promotes Islam-inflected creationism, the Christian Science Monitor reports. The Council of Europe has issued warnings—particularly to schools—against the “Atlas of Creation,” which has been published in 80 countries and 59 languages.  http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0803/p01s10-woeu.html

In L’Aquila, Italy, an open- air funeral Mass was held Good Friday to remember victims of Italy’s most devastating earthquake in a generation.  The 6.3-magnitude quake that killed at least 290 people and left nearly 40,000 homeless was preceded with science backed warnings by Giampaolo Guiliani.  The government dismissed his predictions based on seismographic evidence.  Pope Benedict XVI urged survivors not to give up, praying at the end of the Good Friday torch-led Way of the Cross procession at the Colosseum that they may see the “star of hope.”

Turning toward hope for the future and the change Obama professed, the recent polls from Rasmussen say only 53% of Americans believe capitalism is better than socialism.  The youth have a romanticized view of culturally superior European values while, we are witnessing a  modern liberal assault on Constitution-based values in the U.S.  Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto argues for capitalism over socialism far better than I.  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1416562850?ie=UTF8&tag=punpun-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=1416562850

While Santa Clause is based on a real human being, The Easter Bunny is based on a mishmash of Pagan and Christian ideologies.  The History of  The Easter Bunny can be found at http://www.professorshouse.com/family/holidays/history-easter-bunny.aspx.   Rather than representing the time frame and the events revolving around Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, The Easter Bunny spawns a frenzy of capitalism with gifts like new bicycles, scooters, digital camera, i-phones, mingling in with some chocolate, and of course hard boiled eggs.   I hope we see a bounce in the Consumer Goods Index on The Dow- we can credit The Easter Bunny and not Obama!

The White House will hold the 2009 Easter Egg roll on Monday with environmentally friendly, recyclable Easter Eggs. http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2009/04/09/white-house-unveils-recyclable-egg/

Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on its way- and maybe religious free socialism too.  Behold your king.

The sun has just about set, bringing another day to a close.   This morning’s sun of  April 8th featured Birkat Hachamah, the Jewish ritual of “Blessing the Sun” which occurs every 28 years.  According to Talmudic tradition, the Sun was created on the fourth day, which was a Wednesday.  In Roman times the new year began on the day of the vernal equinox, which fell on March 25 some 2400 years ago. http://www.usno.navy.mil/USNO/tours-events/sky-this

According to rabbinic tradition, on this day the sun is in the exact position it occupied at the time of Creation. And that, as with almost everything else in Judaism, is cause for a blessing.  Tonight is also Passover in this year 5769 (2008-2009).

It is a simple prayer- The text of the blessing itself is as follows:

“ברוך אתה ה’ אלהינו מלך העולם עושה מעשה בראשית”
Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the Universe who makes the works of Creation.

Most religions mark the time in a sacred way.  40 days of lent, the 40 day flood, etc. Counting the solar years in increments of 28 is just one more way of marking a new beginning- a rebirth.

“At a time of growing concern over global warming, birkat hachama has found new resonance. In many synagogues, the special blessing — only one sentence long — will be accompanied by recitations of the ways in which the congregation is harnessing solar power and generally, assuming environmentally friendly policies.”  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123872560930985495.html

I believe in the power of the sun for growth, warmth and spirituality, but pausing for “the birth of the sun,” gives me  little evidence of consequence to fossil fuel consumption or global warming.  In fact, it pisses me off that I will soon be required to purchase mercury laden, compact fluorescent light bulbs- CF’L’s, energy saving, cancer causing light bulbs.

“The blessing is an affirmation of God, not as creator, but as the power that keeps the universe in existence,” said Rabbi J. David Bleich, an expert on the holiday who wrote a book on the subject. “God didn’t just create the universe, then go on an eternal sabbatical. He’s like a generator of electricity: If it doesn’t keep on working, the lights go out.” http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1238562942983

With due respect, time for lights out and bed.  You could dream of, “the potential effects of intense solar Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) on the earth and an ever-growing awareness of the possibility of extreme geomagnetic storms seem to rekindle interest in the so-called ‘Carrington Event’ of 1859, when “skies all over planet Earth erupted in red, green, and purple auroras”, causing severe damage to the telegraph networks of the time. Between then and 1958, altogether 6 well-documented auroras were strong enough to be visible within 30º or indeed 20º of the equator. http://xenophilius.wordpress.com/2009/04/08/the-coming-of-the-sky-dancers/.

God willing, we will rise to see tomorrow’s sunrise. For planet viewing check out  http://stardate.org/nightsky/planets/

In greater than Rock Star status, Barackstar will be arrives in the UK for the G20 Summit in London.  Obama is bringing a 500 strong entourage with a staff of 200 U.S. Secret Service, decoy helicopters, a six doctor medical team, food tasters, his personal water boy, his blackberry, and a special armored plated limo nicknamed “The Beast.”
 http://military.rightpundits.com/2009/03/29/obama-goes-to-europe-presidential-entourage-500-people/

The Beast.  The Anti-Christ. The Devil.  666.  Angel of Darkness. The Evil One.  Seven-Headed Beast of Revelation.  The Wicked One.  False Prophet. Beast from The Abyss.  Satan.  The guy in the little red suit, and all of that.  There is endless speculation and varying secular interpretations but calling Obama “The Beast,” is a stretch.  Some of his political views may be perceived as close to evil, but not necessarily in biblical portions.  There there are many people who do find Obama meets a lot of the criteria of being apocalyptic and referring to his mode of transportation and him as “The Beast,” sure doesn’t help his cause at the G20. Then again, the 35,000 protesters aren’t helping either.

Nostradamus, the Christian seer predicted that a Mabus would be the third anti-Christ, and last week Obama has designated Ray Mabus as The Navy Secretary. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/03/28/former_miss_governor_nominated_for_navy_post/ Could there be some super natural connection from a man who appears to be nothing but patriotic in his past service to our country?

Is it coincidence that the Romans and Egyptians referred to government as “Riding on the beast?”   What of the beast of hope and change, where Obama says,  “We have to remake the world into our own image, I have a dream.”

Maybe a reference to Obama as the beast comes because his policies are the antitheses of President Bush’s “starve the beast” policies.  Policies that tried to limit future spending ,where as Obama’s budgets have us  paying back trillions.

Matt Miller, a former senior adviser in the Clinton Office of Management and Budget wrote at his site The Daily Beast, “From the Reagan ascension until recently, the most trenchant description of the prevailing vision was “Starve the Beast.” This idea, which originated with Milton Friedman, held that the shrewdest way to restrain the supposed runaway growth of evil (and thus “beastly”) government was to cut taxes perennially. Combined with the fact that politicians had little interest in cutting popular government programs, this starvation would, by design, create big budget deficits.” http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-02-26/here-comes-obamanomics/full/

Catholic Newspaper, The Remnant featured an article, Obama and The Laughable Beast, http://www.remnantnewspaper.com/Archives/archive-2008-obama_and_the_laughable_beast.htm  and noted …”the most powerful stimulus that delivered the beast into Obama’s hands was the hocus-pocus of a suspiciously timed economic “collapse.”  Economic collapse is the entire preface of the G20 summit and The American President arrives with his entourage of angels, riding on “The Beast!”

The Washington Times 10.12.08, had this to say, “In 2007 Odinga signed a memorandum of understanding with Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, in which Odinga promised, if elected, to impose Islam as the state religion, to give Islamic leaders the right “to monitor activities of ALL other religions to prohibit public preaching by Christians, and to establish Sharia courts throughout the country.”

The New Testament – Book of Revelations says that the anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40’s, of Muslim descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a Christ-like appeal, that  people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy many.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side, said- “The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people…. “God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.”   This is the rhetoric the Obama heard for 20 years!

The theory that Obama might be the reincarnate of Satan was dispelled at Snopes so it definitely couldn’t be true!  http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/antichrist.asp  http://obamaantichrist.blogspot.com/search/label/Mabus is an entire blog “Of  a community of believing Christians who are considering the background of Barack Obama, who honestly hope they don’t have to answer the question “Is Barack Obama the Antichrist?””

Former Presidential Candidate , Reverend Jessie Jackson took note of his election caping saying, ” “He’s running a theological campaign.”  He may have won, but he is no Deity in my book.

Obama is mere mortal, a man who is not by my accounting Christlike or Satanic, even if his limo is called “The Beast”.  He is nothing more than a politician like the rest of them who were elected to save us from the Armageddon’s of our time and we hope, deliver us from evil.

Ah, the day before Thanksgiving and spirits soar in anticipation of a great meal and celebrations with families.  The weather looks good for travel.  The outdoors have a crisp, clean smell of fall even though I see snowflakes gently cascading down from the heavens, like the heart of winter.   Eventually everyone needs an Obama break, and this holiday is mine to say how thankful I am that we have free elections.

Former VP candidate, Sarah Palin pardoned one turkey at The Triple D Farms in Wasilla, Alaska named Thanksgiving. http://www.necn.com/Boston/Politics/2008/11/21/Palin-pardons-turkey-names-it/1227291463.html  During her interview other turkeys in the background made there last gobble as they were slaughtered, and the MSM showed her no remorse in it’s coverage of it. Hunters, fishermen, trappers, etc., who understand game functions must be especially amused. Guess what, if you eat meat someone has to slaughter it.  Suck it up already.  BTW the turkey at 30 pounds is being donated to a local church and I’d be it won’t have it’s feathers by the time it gets there.

“You cannot take the heat, and you’re definitely going to stay out of the kitchen,” Bush said to the birds at the 60th annual turkey pardoning at the White House. Named, May and Flower they will be spared from the 165 degree oven heat and fly first class to the more moderate temperatures at Disney World, living in the backyard of Mickey Mouse’s Country House at the Magic Kingdom.

Even though our family isn’t home base for dinner, we will still prepare our own bird with all the trimmings and am grateful it wasn’t me who had to raise, and slaughter it myself.  We raised chickens this spring and summer and took them to slaughter with our children in tow.  With no trauma, my kids understand what it takes to work the land and raise animals.  They do not take food for granted- even Chicken McNuggets have a new meaning.  Those adults who act childish in making fun of Palin, ought to be spanked and get coal in there stockings.

I stumbled into this blog and its merits are worth repeating on this Thanksgiving Holiday. “…..For He has been good to me.—Psalm 13:6.I have so much, so many good things in my life.  No, not money.  But I am so thankful that without great monetary wealth and riches, I am not hungry, nor cold, nor without clothing to wear.  My heart is full to bursting with love for and from family and friends, who would do anything for me, and I for them.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the piece of land upon which I live.  The same acres my grandfather purchased over a half-century ago, with hard-earned dollars, give me space and room to roam among the pecan trees, the hay meadow, alongside the creek.  I give thanks to our good Father for allowing me to just be here.

I am extremely thankful that God gave me a heart that loves dogs. So many people missed out on this, and I am sorry for them every day.  My dogs are my tangible, earthly, everyday reminder of a God who loves us no matter what.  My dogs are the very embodiment of love and joy in living, and I am a better person because I love them.

I am thankful beyond words that I live in America.  This country is a gift to all of us, despite problems, big and small.  Infinite opportunities abound, and I am thankful for those opportunities available to me and to everyone.

“I will sing to the Lord for He has been good to me”.  So very good.

Happy Thanksgiving, all.  http://conservativepup.wordpress.com/2008/11/26/i-will-sing-to-the-lord/#comment-40

Kingdom.

May God grant us many reasons to be thankful today, and everyday.  Amen.

God Bless America

The Federal Election Commission Friday[9-8-08] approved payment of $84.1 million in federal funds for the general election campaign of John McCain and Sarah Palin…. In that letter the candidates agreed to abide by the overall spending limit (there are no state-by-state limits) and to other legal requirements, including a post-campaign audit.  Presidential candidates accepting the federal payment are subject to a spending limit of $84.1 million, the amount of the payment, plus a combined personal spending limit of $50,000 from their personal funds.Additional funds may be raised, subject to the limits and prohibitions of the Federal Election Campaign Act, for legal and accounting expenses. http://www.fec.gov/press/press2008/20080908cert.shtml

Obama opted out and has significantly received more donations than McCain.  I wonder, if in part, the reason he chose not to accept federal funds was to avoid some of the legal requirements and possibly to avoid an audit.

Obama’s largest contributors to date is William Budinger to the tune of $30,800.  http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/search.php?cid=N00009638&name=&employ=&state=%28all%29&zip=%28any+zip%29&submit=OK&amt=a&sort=A

Who is William Budinger? William Budinger is listed as an active Trusee for the Aspen Institute, his time is now spent helping the Rodel Foundation pursue its education reform objectives.  What are exactly are those objectives, I wonder.  http://www.rodelfoundations.org/aspen.shtml  Foundation recipients are lucky enough to attend “week-long seminars in both China and the Middle East where Fellows will meet with regional leaders and learn about the challenges and opportunities those areas pose for the future of America.”

A Conversation with Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) and Aspen Institute President Walter Isaacson,

http://www.aspeninstitute.org/site/c.huLWJeMRKpH/b.1096989/k.C19/Senator_Barack_Obama_and_Walter_Isaacson.htm

From Obama own lips speaking at the Aspen Institute, “Abortion is an issue that is very difficult to compromise on because people feel very deeply about these issues. And if you believe that abortion is murder, then it’s hard to say, “Well, I’ll admit murder in some circumstances.” You feel that you have to go all the way and fight as hard as you can.”

What is more controversial than Obama’s stance on partial birth abortions? http://www.abortionfacts.com/online_books/love_them_both/why_cant_we_love_them_both_18.asp#partial%20birth%20abortion  His wife Michelle is right in his shadow.  “In February 2004, his wife, Michelle, sent out a fundraising letter, which actually stated her concern over the rise of conservatism in the Country, and that the ‘so-called’ partial-birth abortion was a legitimate medical procedure that should be protected.” http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/77500/barack_hussein_obama_jr_defends_partialbirth.html?cat=9   And, Barack Obama said on July 17th, 2007: “The first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing that I’d do.” It will require that the taxpayer fund abortions and remove restrictions on abortion.  You can’t give a kid an aspirin from the school nurse without restrictions and yet, abortion will have little restrictions.

Getting back to Isaacson -CNN, the network he headed during the Iraq War coverage, he is quoted as saying, “Walter Isaacson, who headed CNN, observes, “The people at Knight Ridder were calling the colonels and the lieutenants and the people in the CIA and finding out, you know, that the intelligence is not very good. We should’ve all been doing that.” If Issacson knew there was some questionable intelligence CNN didn’t report it or question it- Did they?

From its site, “The Aspen Institute mission is two fold: to foster values-based leadership, encouraging individuals to reflect on the ideals and ideas that define a good society, and to provide a neutral and balanced venue for discussing and acting on critical issues.  http://www.aspeninstitute.org/site/c.huLWJeMRKpH/b.493947/k.7AC3/About_the_Aspen_Institute.htm

The Aspen Institute lists Harvard graduated Walter Isaacson as its current President & CEO.   http://www.aspeninstitute.org/site/c.huLWJeMRKpH/b.2253415/k.5A1D/About_Walter_Isaacson.htm Walter Isaacson, the president of the Aspen Institute, is the former managing editor of Time and chairman of CNN and the author of biographies of Henry Kissinger, Benjamin Franklin, and Albert Einstein.

William E. Mayer is the Chairman of The Board for the Aspen Group with a pretty good resume dotted with being a Senior Partner of Park Avenue Equity Partners, to Credit Suisse, a trustee of the Columbia Group of Mutual Funds, a board member of the Acumen Fund, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Vice Chairman of the Middle East Investment Initiative. http://www.aspeninstitute.org/site/c.huLWJeMRKpH/b.612715/k.960D/William_E_Mayer.htm

Why is the contribution to John McCain by William E. Mayer shown as being returned?  It is because he is linked to tightly with the liberal Aspen Institute and was pressured into doing so?  Did William E. Mayer violate campaign laws?  Did he over extend himself and the checks bounced?  Did McCain stamp the envelope with return to sender?

On the Board of Directors at The Aspen we find some notable names like, Henry E. Catto, Madeleine K. Albright, and Leonard A. Lauder.  What brand of Lipstick does Sarah Palin wear? Also David Gergen, Robert K. Steel of Wachovia, Roderick von Lipsey USB Financial Services, Frederick B. Whittemore Morgan Stanley, Sidney Harman of Harmon Ind., but the name that really caught my eye besides well known Henry A. Kissinger, being Chairman of Kissinger Associates, Inc.,  was Prince Bandar bin Sultan-Former Saudi Ambassador to the United States.

Prince Bandar bin Sultan in the past, has had loyalties to Bush, but not Sultan is not with out controversy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandar_bin_Sultan  There were rumors that Prince Bandar bin Sultan was told of the plan to invade Iraq ahead of notifying Secretary of State Colin Powell.  Did Colin Powell’s feeling get hurt, and the reason he is now endorsing Obama and getting even with the Republican Party?

Interestedly enough, Prince Bandar bin Sultan has a home larger that The White House, in where?  You guessed it, Aspen, Colorado, USA. Called The Halla Ranch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandar_bin_Sultan  http://www.christiesgreatestates.com   has it listed for sale.  Since 9-11, Prince Bandar bin Sultan no longer visits as often.  The Halla Ranch home has 15 bedrooms, but in his defense he has 8 children, so I can actually see that for such an honored dignitary.

McCain wants to know where Obama’s money is coming from and so do I.  We know all about William Budinger donation but “There’s $200 million of those campaign contributions – there’s no record. They’re not reported. You can report online now, $200 million, that we don’t know where the money came from. A lot of strange things going on in this campaign,” McCain said. “The American people should know where every penny came from. They know where every penny of my campaign contributions came from.”  http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/19/politics/fromtheroad/entry4531269.shtml

The Company that you keep, the words you speak, and your current and past associations sure says a lot about you Mr. Obama.  I hear on Howie Mandel’s, new game show, Deal or No Deal, “show me the money”  from contestants.  Well Mr. Obama who has no birth certificate and has 56 other citizenship questions pending for him in the Berg vs Obama, and the DNC et al pending lawsuit, SHOW ME THE MONEY.
