Swine Flu Vaccine, Obama Ready for Mass Inoculations

My have times changed.  36,000 people died from the flu in the U.S. last year. 2000 are infected with Swine Flu- H1N1 and it is now deemed a level 5 Pandemic.

My tin foil hat’s antennae are twisting-less people are getting vaccinated, yet the supply is exhausted.

A WSJ report says,” Parental doubts about the safety of childhood vaccinations are leading to outbreaks of largely eradicated diseases like measles and whooping cough, doctors warned in a new report http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124165229009493675.html.  “A lot of folks are counterculture-type independent thinkers [who] do not have faith in all the modern medicine-type stuff .” Counterculture?  Perhaps faith in the modern medicine type stuff of vaccines has to do with making an informed decision and about vaccine potential relationships to autism, recalls, efficacy rates, vaccines potentially causing the illness they were designed to prevent, and having guidelines that recommend twenty seven shots. 

The American Pediatrics http://aap.org/advocacy/releases/may09vaccines.htm wants parents to have all the information they need to feel confident in their decision to immunize their children,…supporting  parents in making good health care decisions for their children, and vaccines are critical to our efforts to keep our children out of harm’s way.”  What kind of harm are we inflicting with 27 shots in two years? 

Polio has all been eliminated.  Small pox eradicated, but  I am hardly confident with the vaccine license process and the large number of new vaccines on the horizon. An August 2008 APA Report  for Influenza Immunization in children http://www.cispimmunize.org/ill/Flu/Influenza%20Recommendations.pdf, and herehttp://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;122/5/1135  recommends ALL CHILDREN aged six months and older should receive the flu shot.  APA says that there is thimerosal in some forms of the flu vaccine but the benefits of protecting children against the known risks of influenza far outweigh the hypothetical risks associated with the minute amounts of thimerosal in some currently available forms of influenza vaccine.  Because viruses for vaccines are grown in eggs, neither should be administered to anyone with known allergic reactions (ie, hives, angioedema, allergic asthma, and systemic anaphylaxis) to chicken and egg proteins.” 

Science has used eggs for years to grow vaccines but what if the eggs are from Avian Flu or H1N1 viral carriers?  The CDC’s own documentation shows reassortment of viruses in ducks, chickens, and turkeys- all egg layers.   Whether it is reverse genetics or creating a hybrid strain through a re-assortment of genes; vaccine work by tricking the immune system into thinking it has been infected with a virus so that it creates antibodies against it.” says the BBC.  It all sounds well and good until you think of the Legionnaire’s Swine Flu outbreak where the vaccine caused more deaths than the virus itself. Remember the Rota Virus vaccine scare that caused painful intestinal twisting?

The World Health Organization (WHO) will convene a group of experts May 14 to advise the agency on whether to pull the trigger on production of a vaccine for the novel H1N1 swine influenza virus.  http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/content/influenza/swineflu/news/may0609vaccine.html  The medical industrial complex and the the Obama administration is also talking about a second flu vaccine this year  (a series of two shots) in addition to the normal flu season vaccine. Health officials have asked manufacturers to ramp up production of the seasonal vaccine scheduled for roll out this fall to make way for the possible mass production of a swine flu vaccine.  I wonder if  the recent shortages in common vaccines are due to the fact that manufacturers were already gearing up to make the switch to producing a H1N1 vaccine that they knew in advance would be a threat. “If they are asked to stop doing that it means there will be shortages of the normal (flu) seasonal vaccine and vulnerable people could be susceptible if there was an epidemic of ordinary flu this winter” says http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8029917.stm 

The top 20 drug corporations and the industry’s two trade groups, PhRMA and the Biotechnology Industry Organization, which represents biomedicine companies must be frantic with their lobbying to encourage federal funding and authorization for the Swine Flu Shot.  I can see the education campaign now with commercials placed right in the middle of Anderson Cooper CNN’s report or an emergency broadcast alert in the middle of announcing the Idol winner.  How’s that for government propaganda?

Smallpox is the only human infectious disease to have been completely eradicated yet, “This press release at MSNBC discusses the intent of SIGA Technologies to respond to a recent U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) RFP for treatment courses for people infected with smallpox. This is the latest in a series of contracts related to preparations for outbreaks of diseases either due to biological attack or pandemics. In January the U.S. government teamed with Novartis to begin construction of a factory to produce flu vaccines in vast quantities. For almost twenty years the U.S. military has been buying and issuing anthrax vaccines and Emergent Biosolutions that produces that for them and other government agencies. The greater challenge will be tracking any adverse reactions as millions of Americans get multiple vaccinations in a matter of months this fall and winter. “There will be adverse effects to any vaccine. That’s just science,” said Michael Hattwick, who ran the CDC’s vaccine-tracking system during the last swine flu scare.  Clinically significant adverse events that follow immunization should be reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Suddenly the panic button is pushed,  pandemic levels raised, health emergencies declared and as the H1N1 flu continues to spread, the lead story from Google blogs this morning;- Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Manny Ramirez has been suspended 50 games for testing positive under Major League Baseball’s drug policy. No mention of the flu til page 4- some 40 topics behind. 

Baseball is a game full of cheating- doctoring baseballs, cork bats, watering home plate, steroid use.  The medical community that researches the various Flu’s appear to be in the same league with cheating, but no one is investigating them.  Congressional hearings on steroids- howzabout a hearing on the flu industry?

Ramirez took the banned substance HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin,  prescribed to stimulate female fertility and testosterone production in men and to treat delayed puberty in boys.  Humph, more likely to stop his balls from shriveling up to eventually looking like a couple of raisins.

Who has the biggest balls of them all?  The CDC.- touting that the latest H1N1 virus is the first reassortment genotype virus- a mutation of bird, pig and human.  Bullshit. Ramirez is way past puberty to take HCG, and CDC ought to start reading some of it own documented case of re-assorted viruses. 

Zoonotic infections with swine influenza A viruses are reported sporadically. Triple reassortment swine influenza viruses have been isolated from pigs in the United States since 1998. An H1N2 influenza virus (A/Duck/North Carolina/91347/01) (Dk/NC) was isolated from a wild duck in the United States in 2001. This report describes the first isolation of a human/classical swine/avian triple reassortment H3N2 virus from a human. “Since January 2005, H3N2 influenza viruses have been isolated from pigs and turkeys throughout Canada and from a swine farmer and pigs on the same farm in Ontario. Jan 2002, Infection of turkeys with swine H1N1 viruses has been documented on several occasions. Sequence analysis of the virus showed that it was a complex reassortant virus with a mix of swine-, human-, and avian-origin influenza gene.

The CDC has warned that it’s test panels for the flu may not be accurate, yet way back in 1997 from the Bureau of Microbiology, Laboratory Centre for Disease Control, Tunney’s Pasture, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada-“all segments of the viral genome can be amplified from a single MRT reaction, which can yield valuable sources of products for future genetic analysis. During a peak in the 2008 flu season, the CDC said, “that many H3N2 and B viruses making people ill differ from the strains in the vaccine, though the H1N1 viruses continue to match the vaccine.”  They knew damned well the virus was hardly effective saying, “”Slightly more than half of the viruses we looked at in our lab are somewhat different from the vaccine strains and may not be well covered by the vaccine strains.” http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/content/influenza/general/news/feb1508flu.html 
 
They also reported that H1N1 has a resistance to oseltamivir.  Absofrickinglutely incredible is this statement-  Resistance to the older flu drugs, amantadine and rimantadine, remains high this season, and the CDC continues to advise against using them for flu, the CDC report says.
 
In January of 2004, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began experiments designed to combine the H5N1 virus and human flu viruses and then see how the resulting hybrids affect animals. The goal is to assess the chances that such a “reassortant” virus will emerge and how dangerous it might be.  The agency already has made hybrid viruses with H5N1 samples isolated from patients in Hong Kong in 1997, when the virus first caused human disease.

A lab?  So much security.  Score one for the conspiracy theorists, eh?  These same “Biologists say there’s a good chance that the emerging flu strain could establish itself as the dominant strain of influenza in future flu seasons.”  Nothing like blaming the Russians or the Chinese.  Is Baxter Pharmaceutical to blame with a manufacturing plant 50 miles outside of Mexico City.  What about the concerns about potential construction or design flaws designed to contain the world’s most dangerous germs like smallpox and Ebola viruses at the CDC’s Bio safety Level 4 labs in Atlanta?  http://www.ajc.com/wednesday/content/metro/stories/2008/05/15/cdclabs_0515.html
 
That takes some big balls to tell the public the flu was created in a lab, the tests don’t work, the vaccine doesn’t work, the drugs don’t work, while we provide tax dollars to buy the drugs and vaccines, and then ask the public to get a flu shot.
 
Baseball is not a game of life and death.  At least Ramirez is taking his punishment like a man whatever is going on with his balls.  I am thinking, the CDC is lying, manipulating facts and has so far, failed miserably to inform the public of the facts only playing the game of fear.  I’d rather play baseball or go to a game, the odds are better no one will lie about the score.  Too bad I have to wait 50 games to see Ramirez.

Swine Flu Conspiracy ENCODE or ENDGAME; Genetic Sequencing of Pigs & People

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will begin collecting genetic sequences of swine flu found on pig farms in the future, says Nancy Cox director of the influenza division at the CDC.  The News Observer http://www.newsobserver.com/news/story/1510217.html  is reporting, and “the new H1N1 virus contains strains from past swine viruses.  Just yesterday, Canadian scientists completed the full genetic sequencing of the H1N1 swine flu virus, http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090506/wl_canada_afp/healthflucanadascience_20090506170314  and reports, ” lab work  appears to suggest that there’s nothing at the genetic level that differentiates this virus that we’ve got from Mexico and those from Nova Scotia and Ontario.  Whew, there doesn’t appear to be a genetic drift, just bad luck.   Nothing to worry about; just the first ever mutation of pig, bird, and human virus.

Scientists have been busy mapping the human genome, where, “A genetic linkage map shows the relative locations of specific DNA markers along the chromosome. Any inherited physical or molecular characteristic that differs among individuals and is easily detectable in the laboratory is a potential genetic marker. http://www.ornl.gov/sci/techresources/Human_Genome/publicat/primer/prim2.html  Humans and animals are a reassortment of our parents but susceptible to variations internally and environmentally.  Birth defects, autism, cancers, food supplies, personal choice, and access to heath care all influence mortality. Throw in the possibility of man made disease or germ warfare and population control comes to mind.

The International HapMap Project http://www.hapmap.org/  studies  human genetic variation and the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements, or ENCODE  http://www.genome.gov/10005107  project.  Note that ENCODE is just one letter away from ENDCODE.  For all intents and purposes, the Human Genome project is complete, but could sciences manipulation of genes and genetic markers result in the END of mankind, civilization as we know it?   Will your government now begin to automatically collect human DNA at birth for genetic sequencing?  Do they already?  Is ENCODE really ENDGAME?

Would they mutate your DNA, mix it with a dog and see what happens like in the movie Shaggy Dog,where experiments turn the dad into a dog?  They say everyone has a twin, were you cloned like the Dolly the sheep?  Could you be recreated in the lab after death? 

What about the legal, ethical and social implications in humans? (ELSI)

India has all but accused America of engineering the flu, accusing  the U.S. government of seeking a monopoly on controlling the virus for two reasons. Firstly to be able to dominate the vaccine market and make vast profits from providing the cure and secondly to potentially develop the strain into a potent biological weapon, accusing the Australian government of stealing Indonesia’s strain of H5N1 to make bird flu vaccines. http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2008/s2167325.htm  The article is dates Wednesday, 20 February 2009, nearly a month before anyone began paying attention to this outbreak.

Baxter Pharmaceutical Plant in Mexico- Ground Zero for Flu Outbreak

Swine Flu, H1N1 cases seem to be on the decline.  Health Agencies from WHO, CDC,HHS are still keeping a watchful eye.  Tamiflu is getting restocked for availability as manufacturers like Roche are going into overdrive for antiviral production.

In an absolute aberration, Baxter Pharmaceutical  http://www.baxter.com/ has been chosen by WHO to lead the efforts in finding a vaccine cure for H1N1.  Never heard of Baxter?  With little more than a slap on the wrist, Baxter sent vaccines contaminated with deadly live H5N1 avian flu virus to 18 countries before someone caught the mistake and the vaccine got injected thousands of people.  

Baxter just missed creating its own pandemic by mixing  deadly H5N1 virus with a mix of H3N2 seasonal flu viruses, or did they?  By possibly creating the pandemic, maybe Baxter already has the cure and that is why WHO has deemed them the appropriate pharmaceutical company to lead the way for a swine flu vaccine.

Just imagine the billions in profit to develop a cure for a swine-avian-human mixed flu virus, especially if Baxter’s own research and development teams may have developed the mutated strain in it’s own labs in the first place.

I doubt Baxter is the outlet for population control or reduction, just capitalizing on it’s own inventions.  Sick people are an asset whether they come from Mexico or the four corners of the world.  If they are all dead, how do they make money?

It also has an undergraduate program in genomics.  Cuernavaca is the home of the following research centers: Center for Genomic Sciences (UNAM),[3] the Institute of Biotechnology (UNAM),[4] the Institute of Physical Sciences (UNAM),[5] the Center for research in Energy (UNAM), the Institute of Mathematics (UNAM), the Center for Research in Engineering and Applied Sciences (UAEM),[6] and the National Institute of Public Health. Certainly someone or some government knows how to engineer and unleash such deadly viruses, but the implication is horrendous. Equally horrific is that Americans could be subject to compulsory vaccinations and possible detention thanks to Patriot Act I, Patriot II, BARDA, BioShield I, BioShield II,  BARDA, Federal or State Emergency Medical Powers Acts, FEMA, and the most recent announcement of a Health Emergency from DHS and a level 5 pandemic level designation from WHO.

On April 26, 2009, pursuant to section 564(b)(1)(C) of the Act (21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1)(C)), the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) determined that there is a public health emergency under 42 U.S.C. § 247d that affects, or has a significant potential to affect, national security, and that involves a specified biological, chemical, radiological, or nuclear agent or agents, or a specified disease or condition that may be attributable to such an agent or agents — in this case, swine influenza A (H1N1).

Joshua M. Sharfstein, MD, Principal Deputy Commissioner, Acting Commissioner for the FDA  wrote he is “authorizing the emergency use of the Swine Influenza Virus Real-time RT-PCR Detection Panel (rRT-PCR Swine Flu Panel) for the presumptive diagnosis of swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection in human individuals who have been diagnosed with influenza, caused by a virus not subtypeable by currently available FDA-cleared devices, (emphasis mine) subject to the terms of this authorization.”http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/emergency/panel-authorization.html#ft1 

An Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) was issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to allow either the use of an unapproved medical product or an unapproved use of an approved medical product during certain types of emergencies with specified agents. 

”The US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sent materials for a quick diagnostic test to Mexico so scientists there can quickly screen people for the new flu.  The centre’s Dr Richard Besser said test kits were also en route to health departments in all US states to speed up surveillance.” http://www.prisonplanet.com/mexico-encouraged-by-fall-in-new-flu-cases.htmlWhatever  Funny thing is, ” Currently, the EUAs do not include translated versions of fact sheets.” 

So what’s the problem?  The tests have not been approved, are unreliable and physicians around the world may not be able to read English! 

Section 8- “While Tamiflu and Relenza have been previously approved by the FDA, certain aspects of the distribution and use of these products are not covered by their approved applications.  An EUA allows these drugs to be legally distributed for the unapproved (empasis mine) uses for which they are being authorized.  FDA has authorized emergency use of disposable N95 respirators by the general public during this declared emergency.  These respirators may help to keep out germs that may be present in the air you breathe.  The rRT-PCR Swine Flu Panel diagnostic test has not been approved or cleared by the FDA. “(empasis mine) An EUA allows this unapproved diagnostic kit to be legally distributed and used for the authorized purposes.

Disposable N95 respirators offered by Survivair say ” The ONE-Fit NBW95 and NBW95V meet NIOSH N95 standards, CDC guidelines for M Tuberculosis exposure control and are recommended as sufficient protection against many substances, including pandemic diseases such as H5N1 Avian Flu and SARS. air-mask-apr_valueairhttp://www.survivair.com/search/searchResults.asp This mask is a far cry from the paper thin masks I see people wearing.  Other sources for masks are here- http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/n95list1.htmlA EUA is currently in effect. ” The FDA made available to public health and medical personnel important diagnostic and therapeutic tools to identify and respond to the swine flu virus under certain circumstances.  On April 27, 2009, the FDA issued EUAs for the use of certain antiviral products (Relenza, Tamiflu), N95 respirators, and for the rRT-PCR Swine Flu Panel diagnostic test. Section 564 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act), amended by the Project BioShield Act of 2004, permits authorization of such products for use in diagnosing, treating, or preventing serious or life-threatening diseases or conditions caused by biological, chemical, radiological, or nuclear agents even when they are not approved AND ,

Even though WHO has renamed the Swine Flu to A/H1N1   or  Influenza H1N1, an FDA, CDC report says, “Swine flu is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza virus that regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs . Human cases of swine flu virus infection have been identified in the United States and internationally. CDC has determined that this virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. ” http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/emergency/panel-factsheet2.html

Despite “the fact that it (the test) does not meet certain requirements otherwise required by federal law” it is being distributed to public health and other qualified laboratories and doing so with no liability on the part of the government.  Sharfstein also waived any liability for citizens should the test or cure result in additional illness, death or damages. “The Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (“PREP Act”) enacted as Division C of the Defense Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2006, Pub. L. No. 109-148, added new authorities under the Public Health Service (PHS) Act to alleviate concerns about liability related to the manufacture, testing, development, distribution, administration and use of countermeasures against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear agents of terrorism, epidemics, and pandemics. http://www.hhs.gov/disasters/emergency/manmadedisasters/bioterorism/medication-vaccine-qa.html

Let’s hope The rRT-PCR Swine Flu Panel speeds up identifying cases.  The vaccine for the original swine flu ended up killing more people than the virus itself.

I would expect numbers to rise due localized testing rather than having to send samples direct to the CDC.  I find it interesting as well that the CDC says “A negative RT-PCR test should not be interpreted as demonstrating that the patient does not have swine influenza virus infection.”  http://www.swinefluprevent.org/interpreting-swine-influenca-rt-pcr-detection-panel-test-results-fact-sheet-for-healthcare-providers

To summarize The rRT-PCR Swine Flu Panel:

1.  The test was never approved for this use.

6.  It might save lives just to spite itself.

WHO has a new designation for The Swine Fly Outbreak that is more politically correct,  user friendly, non- offending to Mexicans or to The Pork Industry. H1N1 influenza A., the swine flu virus originated in pigs, and has genes from human, bird and pig viruses. Scientists are trying to figure out how it jumped and mutated to humans. In the current outbreak, WHO says the virus is being spread from human to human, not from contact with infected pigs.

“The name of the flu led several countries to slap bans on imports of pork from Mexico and the United States, where the outbreak first appeared, and authorities in Egypt have ordered a cull of pigs. European Union health commissioner Androulla Vassiliou told reporters in Brussels yesterday the EC has “decided to call it novel flu from now on.” http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2009/0430/breaking66.htm I hardly call this never before seen strain of flu that is spread by human contact, “novel”

“The scientific nomenclature assigned to the virus is a recognition that it causes influenza in humans.  According to the World Health Organization influenza viruses are grouped into three types, designated A,B, and C.  Influenza A and B viruses are of concern for human health and only influenza A viruses can cause pandemics. Contrary to labeling it H1N1, “Scientifically this is a swine virus,” said top virologist Dr. Richard Webby, a researcher at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis . Webby is director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Studies on the Ecology of Influenza Viruses in Lower Animals and Birds. In changing the name, does it impersonalize it?  Will it bring awareness that while this outbreak seems to have originated in Mexico, it is in fact a worldwide threat of near epic proportion. While not always accurate in naming the flu from it’s point of origin- Legionaries was from The American Legion conference, Asian Flu from Asia,  Swine Flu from Swine, Spanish Flu (1918-1919), Hong Kong Flu (1968-1969), Russian Flu (1977-1978), Beijing Flu (1993-1994), Sydney Flu (1998-1999).  Americans from America, Italians from Italy, the flu from Mexico- H1N1.  

WHO apparently is more worried about not hurting anyone’s feelings that working on how this virus mutated into humans and how to prevent it as it continues to raise it’s threat levels.  “The US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sent materials for a quick diagnostic test to Mexico so scientists there can quickly screen people for the new flu.  The centre’s Dr Richard Besser said test kits were also en route to health departments in all US states to speed up surveillance.” http://www.prisonplanet.com/mexico-encouraged-by-fall-in-new-flu-cases.htmlWhatever At the very least this should speed up identifying the pathogen whose numbers I would expect to rise with easier test tests in place; rather than having to send samples direct to the CDC.  Wonder how they accomplished manufacturing the test kits so rapidly and who manufactured them?

Swine Flu Virus Explodes on Train

Filed under- a flea on a camel’s ass is smarter, a Geneva lab has had Vials of “innocuous swine flu virus” explode on an intercity train, prompting police to stop passengers before departure.   A laboratory technician from a Geneva hospital had been transporting the vials on Monday evening from a veterinary institute in Zürich when they supposedly exploded on their own.  

“This virus is not dangerous to humans,” said Laurent Kaiser, head of the Geneva lab. “It is the same stock as the H1N1 virus but it has nothing in common with the strain spreading around the world.”  http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/front.html?siteSect=105&ty=nd&ref=fb&sid=10627294  Stupid duck say what?  Nothing in common, so why detain passengers? 

Could this have been an intentional bio terrorism event or just plain stupidity? Could it happen again? Is this the first time that a strain of the H1N1 flu has been released- apparently unwittingly?

The designation swine flu, though carrying some original value, is bad for the pork industry, carrying the implication to some that eating cooked pork is unsafe, or a source for potential infection. Swine Flu Conspiracy- God’s Will Be Done

Got a little nose tickle? Here comes the big sneeze- Ahh chooo. Normally folks would say, “God Bless You” after a sneeze, now they forget all about blessing you and get the hell away fast, praying  they don’t get sick too. The World Health Organization has raised it’s threat classification of the swine flu outbreak to Phase Five, one step away from a worldwide pandemic.

VP Biden this morning said, “I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places now,” on whether he would advise family members to use public transportation. see the video link at http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/us_world/Swine-Flu-0428.html Mexico is  predominately Roman Catholic where people commonly attend church. http://countrystudies.us/mexico/61.htm  But forget about going to church this week in Mexico, “There is no safer place to protect yourself against catching swine flu than in your house,” Mexican President Felipe Calderon said, closing all non essential operations for five days.  http://www.fox8.com/news/nationworld/sns-ap-med-swine-flu,0,6402111.story 

During the 16th, 17th, 18th centuries, the idea was that death “had something to do with God’s will,” said Dr. Howard Markel, professor of the history of medicine and of pediatrics and communicable diseases at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor.  The term influenza has religious, Italian origins. Paul McFedries, author of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Weird Word Origins” notes that  “In 590 [A.D.], Pope Gregory I ordered the citizens of Rome to pray to fend off an outbreak of the Bubonic Plague. ,” “Since people of the day thought a sneeze was a symptom of the plague, they would say ‘God Bless You’ to the sneezer.” Another belief is that when one sneezes, their heart stops. Saying “God Bless You” is believed to make the sneezer return to life or make their heart continue to beat. The act of sneezing itself is viewed as positive or negative, depending on the story to which you subscribe. The positive explanation states that sneezing helps cleanse the body of evil spirits.  Contrary to that belief, a sneeze was also seen as a bad omen. People used to believe that your soul was thrown from your body during a sneeze. It is believed that the departure of one’s soul from you body left him or her unprotected from evil spirits. After sneezing, the body was susceptible to invasion by the Devil himself.”

I guess you’d have to define who the Devil is to believe the cause of this latest, never before seen mutation of the flu.   Mother Nature, the scientists, terrorists, farmers, governments, etc.? They could all have a hand in creating and preventing this near full blown pandemic.

Escalating fears in millions and prompting many to wear face masks, I wonder what about the simple handshake?

In public the handshake is a simple greeting and custom.  In the Roman Catholic church, the handshake is the sign of peace.  Custom dictates what used to be called the “the kiss of peace” and how it is exchanged in each country: a handshake, an embrace, words of peace, or other action.   St. Augustine in the 4th century: “After the Lord’s Prayer, say ‘Peace be with you.’ Christians then embrace one another with a holy kiss. Smithfield Foods, a world producer of pork products surely is looking for peace as well, issuing the following statements, ” We routinely administer flu vaccines to our herds in order to protect them from potential viruses and conduct monthly tests to examine the presence and identity of different flu strains,” adding, “we can pray that health officials and doctors around the world will find answers soon.”  I’d be curious to know what exact inoculations were given to the Mexican herd where the first reported death occurred near Oaxaca.

Not surprisingly, according to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), “It is not correct to call the current disease ‘swine influenza’. The virus that is circulating includes genetic components of human, avian and swine origin. The OIE proposed to refer to this new virus as ‘North American influenza’, using the same approach to nomenclature as used with the Asian influenza and Spanish influenza outbreaks that have occurred in the past.” http://www.smithfieldfoods.com/  Personally I like, The Aporkalypse or The Eye-Chiwawa Flu.

Bible prophecy and the grand scheme of God’s plan is is one-third of the Bible.  Yes, God loves his creations, even the pig.  If anything, I hope He intends to redeem and not destroy with this latest plague.  Awaiting Judgment, many have Bibles and legally registered guns in their homes to keep away any Devils – praying the flu does not come knocking on the door.

The White House says President Barack Obama is being kept updated on the swine flu outbreak in Mexico as he gets set for yet another expensive TV appearance tonight, during Prime Time. 

Celebrating his 100th day in office, “Fox became the first broadcast network to turn down a request by President Barack Obama for time, opting to show its drama “Lie to Me” on Wednesday instead of the president’s prime-time news conference.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/27/fox-not-airing-obama-pres_n_191954.html  I guess there is freedom for the press after all.

So much for watching “Lost.”  Instead, Americans seem to be living in the lost land of The Department of Homeland Security and Janet Napolitano who are finally paying attention to the severity of the Swine Flu.  The Swine Flu in itself is not a conspiracy, it is real.  How the Swine Flu has evolved is another post.  My tin foil hat’s antennae are up though, and I have to wonder why the Obama Administration waited so long to get on the stick to begin to warn Americans of what was happening to our neighbors, and the flu’s ability to spread from person to person.

One week after Obama returned from Mexico, Felipe Solís, the director of Mexico’s National Anthropology Museum died- April 23rd.  He met Presidents Obama and Calderón at the museum!   Solís died apparently of a preexisting condition and not of Swine Flu. Really?  White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said The, “White House was not warned about the outbreak before the president’s stop in Mexico City, but said “there’s no reason to believe” Mexican officials “withheld any information. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/04/28/obama_ok_after_mexico_trip/ 

On April 6 2009- prior to Obama’s arrival in Mexico, local health officials declared a health alert due to a respiratory disease outbreak in the Mexican town of La Gloria in Veracruz state. Health officials record 400 cases of people who sought medical treatment in the previous week in the town. Cuba yesterday became the first nation to suspends flights to and from Mexico, what country will be the next to impose a travel ban?  What about restrictions on imports like food?  WHO claims it is too late for containment anyways.

If I listen really hard during tonight’s Prime Time Conference, I wonder if I will be able to hear the tap dance from Obama on why his administration wasn’t more forthright about notifying the America of an imminent health threat.  The World Health Organization continues to monitor the situation as it raises its pandemic alert level.   The United States government’s national threat level is Elevated, or Yellow. For a Harvard graduate, President Obama seems to have forgotten that he won the Hispanic vote. “Why a virus that has spread across at least 10 countries and is suspected in many others has only killed Hispanics, and whether a race-specific bio-weapon is being beta-tested” asks http://www.prisonplanet.com/is-swine-flu-a-race-specific-virus.html  Indeed.

Hedging his bets on reducing population but increasing ratings, I recommend tuning in to Ted Turner’s CNN who will be broadcasting Obama’s Prime Time Conference.  Mr. Turner a believer in population control once said, “We’ve got to stabilize population.”  http://www.thirdeyeconcept.com/news/index.php?page=204
