Video Killed the Radio Star is a song by the British group Buggles and was released in 1979. It celebrates the golden days of radio, talking of a singer whose career is cut short by television.  It was the first music video shown on MTV in North America when the music channel debuted on August 1, 1981, at 12:10 A.M.  Obama would have been about 20 years old. [If I saw his birth certificate I could tell you exactly how old he was -but alas, it has never been shown to the public-only a copy of a COLB.

Leave it to Obama to kill what is left of radio listenership.   With an, in your face- I don’t need the radio attitude toward Rush Limbaugh, Obama continues to capitalize on the Internet and “for the first time, the weekly Democratic address has been released as a web video rather than the traditional radio address. http://change.gov/newsroom/entry/your_weekly_address_from_the_president_elect/  and at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd8f9Zqap6U By posting the address on You Tube we can see that more than 550,000 people have viewed it.  Too bad the comments and ratings have been disabled.

His campaign on the net was masterful and again we are witness to the landscape of change in communications.  Communicating will change even further this winter when TV will only be broadcast under the digital domain.  February 17, 2009, all full-power broadcast television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. The FCC claims digital broadcasting will allow stations to offer improved picture and sound quality and additional channels. http://www.dtv.gov/

That means that people who use an antenna to watch TV will likely get no more service after Feb. 17. The exceptions are if the TV is a digital TV, TV service comes from cable or another paid source or you bought one of those digital converter boxes (two $40 coupons are available at www.DTV2009.gov). See my “Guide to the 2009 Digital TV transition.”  What no one fails to mention is the jackpot each of the license holders has been given.  http://unusualmusic.livejournal.com/293881.html  writes  “Although the airwaves are the property of the public under US law, and broadcasters receive their licenses from the FCC only on the condition that they serve the public interest, neither Congress nor the FCC, have attached any public service or public interest requirement to the thousands of new DTV channels that current broadcasters will receive. And current broadcasters, according to the deal worked out by Congress and the FCC back in the 1990s, are the only ones upon whom the new stations made possible by DTV will be bestowed. They’re in. Congress and the FCC, in their wisdom didn’t think local governments, schools, colleges, libraries, unions, community organizations, local churches, blacks, Latinos or females deserved a shot at any of the thousands of new DTV channels. They’re out. That’s it and that’s all.

Since airwaves are free we are now being held hostage to paying for cable in order to receive good reception but cable broadcasters are not the only one to actually use cable.    Comcast, AT&T, Sprint, and the others all make use of cable but fail to talk about all the dormant dark fiber laid in the 1990’s cris-crossing the country that is not being used. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_fiber  We see companies charging and limiting band with, capping usage, and charging for bytes of traffic to boost revenue.  Another major media shift has been underway for some time regarding CNN, who is underway to surpass The Associated Press, Reuters, and UPI as a news source available to the media.  “So in addition to cablecasting, web casting and mobile casting (its big three destination plays), it [sic- CNN] figures it can make some money offering the same content to other news outlets. Call it syndication, call it distribution or call it, in the old parlance it has chosen, the CNN Wire.    http://www.contentbridges.com/2008/11/cnn-changes-the-wire-game.html ” I call it a big monopoly.

http://www.techpresident.com/ reports that The Obama-Biden transition team has just named the staunchly pro-Internet Susan Crawford its co-lead in the review of the FCC, Federal Communications Commission.   Crawford, a leading expert on communications policy, is the founder of OneWebDay, called “an environmental movement for the Internet ecosystem.” She was, until recently, also a member of the board of directors of ICANN, the organization charged with overseeing some of the Internet’s operations.* Here more of her thoughts here http://onewebday.org/?page_id=310 and her thoughts on the “man in the middle”- the government’s role in monitoring the Internet.

Seeing as Al Gore invented the Internet is should seem only fitting that a government entity should monitor it, right?  ROFL.  http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9595_22-151059.html notes that programs more intrusive than Carnivore may be in use and in  in violation of the Wiretap Act and the 4th Amendment to the Constitution. ” Instead of recording only what a particular suspect is doing, agents conducting investigations appear to be assembling the activities of thousands of Internet users at a time into massive databases, according to current and former officials. That database can subsequently be queried for names, e-mail addresses or keywords. ”

Justice Department’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section is a busy place.  http://www.scmagazineus.com/Study-Internet-service-providers-facing-more-larger-threats/article/120828/  Internet service providers (ISPs) are facing more security threats, while attacks are becoming larger and more sophisticated.
That finding is from Arbor Networks’ Worldwide Infrastructure Security Report, The report compiles survey responses from 66 lead security engineers from North America, South America, Europe and Asia. They were asked questions relating to Internet security threats and engineering challenges occurring between August 2007 and July 2008.The scale of attacks have been growing steadily since 2001, but this year’s largest reported distributed denial-of- service (DDoS) attack reached 40 gigabytes per second against a single target, the report states.

[I]n a final statement that’s likely to send shivers down the spines of telecom company executives, she [Crawford] said that she believes Internet access is a “utility.”

Hic up, most utilities are taxable.

In typical media bias, Reuters is reporting that the massive fires over the November 15, 2008 weekend that devastated more than 20,000 acres and numerous residences was of course caused by, global warming.  Reporters Dan Whitcomb and Jill Sergeant of Reuters wrote,  “California’s fire season, which traditionally ran from June to October, has been a year-round menace as global warming has brought higher winter temperatures and less rainfall.” http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE4AG0Z320081117

Oh, contra-ire mi com-padres, investigators say the fire that destroyed more than 1000 homes in the Santa Barbara and Montecito region was “human caused.” http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_11004172?nclick_check=1 Doug Lannon, a spokesman with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said Sunday that investigators have eliminated all accidental causes of the fire. The fire began Thursday night in a Montecito landmark called the Tea House. Lannon said the area is a popular hangout for teenagers, and it’s possible someone was smoking in the brush or started a campfire there.

Yes, we need to protect our environment.  I don’t want to swim in a cess pool of garbage in our oceans and I don’t like breathing in smog, but in a prediction that differs from most in the public domain, I believe that there is evidence of cooling and I am not alone.

David Archibald at the International Conference on Climate Change, March 2008 writes, “We have to be thankful to the anthropogenic global warning proponents for one thing.  If it weren’t for them and their voodoo science, climate science wouldn’t have attracted the attention of non-climate scientists, and we would be sleepwalking into the rather disruptive cooling that is coming the next decade.”  http://www.warwickhughes.com/agri/Solar_Arch_NY_Mar2_08.pdf On Archibald’s site you can read more scientific data supporting the claim we are going to be colder.  http://www.davidarchibald.info/

Last year, barring our annual snow bird migration to Florida, here in the upper quadrant of the States, we froze and it was in fact the 54th coolest winter since national records began in 1895. http://www.farmersalmanac.com/weather/a/record-breaking-winter-weather-from-2008.  Don’t buy into the Farmer’s Almanac as reliable?  “Evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.  http://www.dailytech.com/Temperature+Monitors+Report+Widescale+Global+Cooling/article10866.htm and

Recent data from the Ulysses spacecraft, a joint NASA-European Space Agency mission, shows that sun has reduced its output of solar wind to the lowest levels since accurate readings became available. http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2008/sep/HQ_08241_Ulysses.html  Furthering the claim that it is simply getting colder, not warmer.

The faulty reporting from Reuters reminds us how often times governments and citizens are coerced by a minority to act and legislate against a problem that does not exist, and that we really have no control over at all.  The fire has obviously scarred peoples lives and the earth but Reuters continues to loose credibility to The Associated Press, UPI, and CNNewsWire when it’s reporters rely on their own assessments in reporting the news.

Just the facts, please.  As a side note, in politically correct circles, global warming has been rebelled  climate change.  Stay warm friends.

Vital records (birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates) for events that occurred in Hawaii are received and preserved by the Office of Health Status Monitoring, a unit of the Department of Health. In Hawaii, access to vital records is restricted by statute (HRS §338-18).

Certified copies of these records may be issued to authorized individuals and used for such diverse purposes as school entry, passports, Social Security participation, driver’s licenses, employment, sports participation, survivor’s benefits, proof of property rights, and other needs.  http://hawaii.gov/health/vital-records/vital-records/index.html

The most important job in the land of the free and the home of the brave, is that of President.  Seeing as Obama is petitioning for the job of President, one must ask the state of Hawaii to publicly release his birth certificate.  A certificate of live birth COLB- is an unacceptable document of proof of lineages and place of birth.  It should be is as simple as- either provide a birth certificate or your job application to become president should be denied.

The President works for the people and current President George Bush should mandate The US Senate Rules and Administration Committee to investigate the legality of failing to provide proof of US Citizenship.  While he is at, President Bush needs to investigate how Obama won in the Primary Election in the first place.  Whether it is the Federal Elections Committee, The Senate Rules Committee, or the Democratic National Party, President Bush in all his own legal wrangling to defeat Al Gore should apply those same resources in ensuring that Omaba is qualified and legally won the primary.

For heaven’s sake America had an investigation into Steroids in Baseball, the least they could do after spending our tax dollars is lead an election investigation.

At the end of the Democratic Primary season, this was the situation:  http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/D.phtml

Popular Vote Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton: 17,857,446, (48.04%)
Senator Barack Obama: 17,584,649 (47.31%)

Pledged delegates Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton: 1,730.5 (39.17%)
Senator Barack Obama: 1,747.5 (39.55%)

One would think Hillary the winner, but that’s not quite how things worked in the Democratic Primary.   Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi decided they and not the delegates or the popular vote would nominate Barack Obama for the general election.

Each president recites the following oath, in accordance with Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

It is the job of the President of the United States protect the Constitution of the United States.  President Bush on behalf of the American People need to get to the bottom of this travesty before the Constitution is changed forever under an Obama administration.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Democrat Barack Obama‘s lead over Republican rival John McCain has dropped to 5 points, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby pollreleased on Sunday.  “Things are trending back for McCain. His numbers are rising and Obama’s are dropping on a daily basis. There seems to be a direct correlation between this and McCain talking about the economy,” pollster John Zogby said.

McCain at a Rally in Albuquerque told the audience he relished being the underdog in the race.  “Ten days to go, we’re a few points down, and the pundits of course as they have four or five times have written us off,” McCain said. “And you know what, my friends? They forgot one thing. They forget to let you decide … We love being the underdog and we’re going to win.”
