Crazy. It’s been more than 6 months since a post on the ahrcanum site. Had to renew our domain name today before it expired. For sale domains are meatloafmondays & meatloafmonday. Farm is fine, kids are good, animals are running in the snow, so most all is well.  Best bet, Twitter @ahrcanum There have been so many WordPress updates, not sure we can keep up with the changes. Cant even figure out how to import a photo anymore. Old folks you know!

What’s not so good is the American dream. From Common Core, to ISIS / ISL, wars, politics, news, etc. SNAFU. Less than two years ’til a new occupant in the White House, pray it is not Hillary. Who will rep for the GOP is anyones guess. Walker, maybe Rubio?

Keep the faith & keep checking back! Regards.

Finally, the Azelias are in full bloom. Got lucky and found rare orange and yellow ones to plant. Sitting on the porch debating what chore to do next, they smell like heaven. Not like funeral flower smell either!

Enjoy the Memorial Day holiday. We have four days off which translates into four days of farm work. Maybe we can unstick the tractor! No rain in forecast.

Deer are running every where too. All doe so far. Here’s a shot of one being chased by the geese.

Ten degrees? Spring my butt. Warming up the day knowing we have a new pony. He is a purebred mini Shetland. It’s only 7 months old, all black, sweet little thing so far! Hope all of the other critters play nice with him. Here’s some of the animal crew waiting for a meet & greet.

First post since Wpress updated, bear w me & new buttons- ugh.

It’s winter, we get it- but this is just crazy. At the very least it is frigging cold. The birds are chirping and there is more daylight. Think the clocks roll ahead next week. No signs of a Robin bird yet- so we know 1.) they are smart birds and 2.) no early spring. Curse you Punxsutawney Phil- the groundhog who saw his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter.

Farmer winter weather forecast says- here we go again. Pix via NOAA.

California is getting slammed w much needed rain & likely mudslides. If that water vapor continues to gain strength on a path towards the Midwest, it’s going to mean even more snow. Currently there is a HUGE snow, ice event heading to the Midwest and over our farm. Maybe 10-12 inches of snow and freezing temps. Going to have to get some more milk, bread, etc., bc driving is going to be hazardous. Millions of folks are going to be impacted.

No doubt people are going to loose power, the homeless are going to need shelter. Monday will likely be a snow day w kids off school yet again. The animals coats are as thick as ever although our domesticated rabbit escaped after a goat knocked over her hutch. “Ginger Rabbit,” was crazy so she has a good chance to survive.

If u glance back up at pix, put on your tinfoil hat and ask if that is Mother Nature, haarp, geoengineering, cloud seeding or what? No answers, but dang sure looks ominous. Been noticing somewhat of a correlation to snow events in the Midwest & earthquakes in Chile & Alaska. Just a casual observance, but the antennae are up.

Goodness Winter sucks. Less than 100 day ’til Spring- 97 days to be exact. Farm animal water freezing, hay needs to be raked, dog not getting walked, all is harvested & everyone is cold.

So not ready for holidays. Presents, food, drinks etc., and now lake effect snow coming pretty far south- enough to make things slippery for jackwads without trucks. Picture the little old lady driving a ’92 Toyota. Ugh.

Few pix of snow falling – stay warm friends & keep the spirit of Christmas in our hearts.

Two days of snow flurries, but it’s only 145 days until Spring. That’s 145 days of feeding farm animals under usually grey skies that are energy vampires. Wake up in the dark, go to bed in the darkness. Hard to wake up, and the need to go to bed earlier makes one feel like 145 days of hibernation.

This morning, fall is quite visible with many trees having lost leaves during the big turn to immediate cold. Earlier in the week it was in the 60’s and winterizing wasn’t so bad. Now that it’s freezing, not much energy to do deeds that need to be done, especially w frozen fingers.

Here’s a glimpse –

Pouring rain in the sunshine on the farm. We spot a rainbow and one of the kids hops on the golf cart to find the gold at the end. She is my pot of gold. Lucky me.
