The Flu, Anthrax, Plague and Vaccines.

The U.S. Government has agreed to pay $2.5 million to the widow and family of  The National Inquirer Florida tabloid photo editor, Robert Stevens who was  killed in the 2001 anthrax attacks.  The document also says the U.S. is not admitting fault and she has to return sensitive documents. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/palm-beach/boca-raton/fl-anthrax-award-20111129,0,3694250.story

Whatever is in those sensitive documents surely would have been brought out in a trial.  Who will be the first to file a FOI?  The FBI continues to blame Bruce Ivins out of  Fort Detrick- he never got a trail and is an alleged suicide victim over dosing on Tylenol.  There’s a lot of doubt about that, some which we’ve written about prior here=http://wp.me/paBV0-JF.    Another scientist, Steve Hatfill was also accused but was cleared and got a $5.8 million settlement for invasion of privacy.

There is also the admission that the government has lost track of thousands of vials including anthrax, the plague, and Ebola in June of 2009. https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/06/24/ft-detrick-lab-missing-9000-virus-vials-scientists-still-dying-from-unnatural-causes/.  Think hard for a minute, 2009- the midst of the swine flu pandemic and a declaration of emergency from the WHO and President Obama.  The WHO has rescinded its emergency- did the White House?

November 24, 2011.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed three cases of a new flu virus, which originated in pigs but apparently spread from person to person…

In a report released late Wednesday night, the CDC noted that, as part of “routine preparedness,” it has already produced a “candidate vaccine virus” that could be used against this new strain, and has given it to vaccine makers.

The CDC id’s a new strain and there is a vaccine in the mix already? Dang that was fast.  What about testing?  Want to be a Guinea pig?  How about testing out an anthrax shot?

The Obama Care folks have authorized yet another vaccine trial, this one to test an anthrax vaccine on children.

Would you ever think to knowingly allow your child to be a part of an anthrax vaccine test?  How about any other vaccine test?   The U.S. government is supposed to obtain informed consent before giving an unapproved and experimental vaccine to anyone.  Yet in 1998, the Pentagon began a controversial mandatory immunization program for military personnel that was challenged in court over questions about the vaccine’s safety and reliability. 

The federal government has spent something like $1.1 billion to stockpile the anthrax vaccine to protect Americans in the event of an attack.  Imagine if the federal government spent an addition $1.1 billion on our borders with Mexico to protect Americans?

“The U.S. Government must do a better job of preparing for anticipated emergencies…. The German government did a good job at stockpiling an H1N1 vaccine and today are burning it.

Around €250 million worth of swine flu vaccine [sic  Pandemrix]  was due to go up in smoke on Tuesday – as Germany disposed of 16 million doses that people refused to take during last year’s outbreak of the potentially deadly virus. http://www.thelocal.de/national/20111129-39181.html

What about the smallpox vaccine purchase to the tune of $443 million? 

Senior officials have taken unusual steps to secure the contract for New York-based Siga Technologies Inc., whose controlling shareholder is billionaire Ronald O. Perelman, one of the world’s richest men and a longtime Democratic Party donor. …Siga was awarded the final contract in May through a “sole-source” procurement in which it was the only company asked to submit a proposal. The contract calls for Siga to deliver 1.7 million doses of the drug for the nation’s biodefense stockpile. How about a universal rip off— er, vaccine instead?

A couple of companies have already tested their formulations in people. BiondVax Pharmaceuticals in Ness Ziona, Israel, is working on a vaccine that could be ready as early as 2014, predicts Wayne Rudolph, the company’s vice president for corporate development. Still worried about Bird Flu- H5N1?  In a report from 2007- The  bird flu vaccine, produced by the French drug company Sanofi-Aventis, won’t be sold commercially. FACT: You’re TEN times more likely to get the flu during flu season if you use a tanning bed b/c it weakens immune system cells.

Maybe sitting in a tanning bed isn’t such as good idea in general.  Some studies though, show an increase of Vitamin D keeps the flu away.  Might as well lay at the beach.

Malcolm Casadaban Dies of Plague

Malcolm Casadaban, PhD death was caused by laboratory acquired plague.  He died September 13, 2009.   He was researching the  bacteria Yersinia Pestis, the plague bacterium.

Although a forensic team from state and local health departments and the CDC were unable to determine how exactly Casadaban came into contact with the organism, autopsy results also indicated he had hereditary hemochromatosis, according to a report in the Feb. 25 issue of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report http://www.medpagetoday.com/InfectiousDisease/GeneralInfectiousDisease/25051

If the CDC was unaware of how he came in contact with the bacteria, just how do they know that he did or did not follow proper protocol?  The Daily Mail article cites Ken Alexander, University of Chicago infectious disease specialist, who said lab results were positive for the plague and their ‘biosafety fire alarm’ was raised.

We wonder if he may have coincidentally had hemochromatosis, making him more susceptible to contamination as well.  Doubt it. 

We also do curiously note,  his death from an alleged exposure to a variety of the plague occurred just as H1N1 Swine Flu was peaking in 2009.

Bruce Ivins Anthrax Investigation Documents Released by FBI Questioned

Bruce Ivins, a microbiologist acted alone in the anthrax attacks of 2001, according to a now closed investigation by the U.S. Government.

Feb. 20, 2010. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The federal government yesterday formally closed the books on the 2001 anthrax attack that terrorized Palm Beach County and a nation still reeling from the Sept. 11 attack just weeks earlier.

Stevens’ attorney, Richard Schuler, has questioned how a mentally unstable man (Ivins) could be allowed to continue working with dangerous substances.  “All the information (released yesterday) is very helpful to our case,” Schuler said yesterday.  “If you look at what they wrote, the lapse in security was horrendous. They didn’t have any way to keep track of these highly dangerous substances,” he said.

According to his therapist Jean Duley, we have allowed a homicidal maniac to work with anthrax for at least the past 7 years, as a United States government microbiologist and vaccinologist for 36 years and senior biodefense researcher at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) in Fort Detrick, Maryland for 18 years.  In 2008, “The FBI says that in the days before the letters were sent, he grew frustrated with the state of his research, spent late nights in his lab, and sent e-mails describing his paranoid delusions. Slate goes on to say, “Just after the 9/11 attacks—and weeks before the anthrax letters were found—the White House distributed the antibiotic Cipro to staffers, including those traveling with Vice President Dick Cheney. This has drawn the attention of many on the conspiracy fringe. Why would the White House have handed out an antibiotic used to treat exposure to anthrax—unless, maybe, possibly, our government knew something that we didn’t?

The Wall Street Journal claimed in January 2010 that the anthrax case is far from being closed, “If Ivins had neither the equipment or skills to weaponize anthrax with silicon, then some other party with access to the anthrax must have done it. Even before these startling results, Sen. We repeat the closing paragraph from WJS, “even though the public may be under the impression that the anthrax case had been closed in 2008, the FBI investigation is still open—and, unless it can refute the Livermore findings on the silicon, it is back to square one.

Square one? 

Biological warfare and anthrax vaccine expert Dr. Meryl Nass who has followed the case at http://anthraxvaccine.blogspot.com/2010/02/fbi-case-closed-and-ivins-did-it.html has this to say:

Actually, the 96 page FBI report is predicated on the assumption that the anthrax letters attack was carried out by a “lone nut.” The FBI report fails to entertain the possibility that the letters attack could have involved more than one actor. The FBI admits that about 400 people may have had access to Ivins’ RMR-1029 anthrax preparation, but asserts all were “ruled out” as lone perpetrators. FBI never tried to rule any out as part of a conspiracy, however. That is only the first of many holes in FBI’s case.

Nass also notes that the release of information now comes before the National Academies of Science (NAS)as it is several months away from issuing its $879,550 report on the microbial forensics, suggesting a) asking NAS to investigate the FBI’s science was just a charade to placate Congress, and/or b) NAS’ investigation might be uncovering things the FBI would prefer to bury, so FBI decided to preempt the NAS panel’s report.

Two years into the investigation, On March 14, 2003, Ivins and two of his colleagues at USAMRIID at Fort Detrick received the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service—the highest award given to Defense Department civilian employees – for helping solve technical problems in the manufacture of anthrax vaccine. http://www.dcmilitary.com/dcmilitary_archives/stories/031903/22098-1.shtml  Ivins reacted to the award by saying, “Awards are nice. But the real satisfaction is knowing the vaccine is back on-line.” 

There are lots of who dunnits and why’s.   The truth of the matter is that there is one more dead scientist and he can not defend himself or claim guilt or innocence from the grave.  His suicide from an overdose of Tylenol came prior to any FBI charges.  The five dead people who died in the anthrax attack don’t have much to say either.

Nuclear Physics Professor Massoud Mohammadi, Dead

His death was blamed on the hands of Americans who, along with other nations have been pushing Iran to halt its uranium enrichment programs.  

Since Ali Mohammadi was one of the scientists of physics and nuclear energy, most probably intelligence services and elements of the Mossad and CIA had a hand in his assassination,” the Web site of state television quoted Tehran prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabad as saying. The accusation was echoed by the Foreign Ministry.    

In Washington, State Department spokesman Mark Toner denied the charge. “Any charges of U.S. involvement are absurd,” he said. A U.S. intelligence official said the CIA played no role in the bombing death, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.     

From Al Jazeera -http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2010/01/201011273050938177.html  Alireza Ronaghi, reporting from Tehran, said Mohammadi might have had links to Iran’s disputed nuclear programme.  “Authorities who decided to remain unnamed tell me that Mohammadi had some connections with Iran’s nuclear programme and this could be related,” he said.  He said it was unclear who might have been behind the bombing.  “Anyone who is connected to Iran’s nuclear programme could be an easy target for [foreign] intelligence services.”

The Iraqi ambassador in Cairo, Ahmad al-Iraqi, accused Israel of sending to Iraq immediately after the US invasion “a commando unit” charged with the killing of Iraqi scientists.    “Israel has played a prominent role in liquidating Iraqi scientists … The campaign is part of a Zionist plan to kill Arab and Muslim scientists working in applied research which Israel sees as threatening its interests,” al-Iraqi said.  Dr. Imad Jad, an Israeli affairs expert at the Al-Ahram Studies Center, said the US had already airlifted 70 Iraqi scientists out of the country and placed them in areas to make it difficult for them to “transfer information to anti-US quarters.”  He said more than 310 Iraqi scientists have been killed so far and most of them at the hands of Mossad agents working in Iraq.      

In the long run, Non-proliferation maybe the goal but in the meantime the Dead Scientist List of those who have died suspiciously has added another name.

Increasing numbers of the dead last year were noted on this post regarding missing vials of who knows what from Ft. Ivins killed himself in July, the FBI announced that he alone was responsible for anthrax mailings that killed five people and sickened 17 others in 2001.

The  carcass of Indian famous nuclear scientist Lokanathan Mahalingam found from Kali River. The scientist had been mysteriously disappeared from the Kaiga Atomic Power Station on June 8, 2009. December 9, 2009- An award-winning Iranian nuclear scientist, Shahram Amiri  traveled to Saudi Arabia earlier this year to perform a religious pilgrimage. He never returned. No longer are the targets just scientists, but doctors.

He never returned. Shahram Amiri’s mysterious disappearance is turning into a Middle Eastern whodunit involving nuclear secrets and political intrigue, with a new round of accusations emerging this week and the U.S. government still refusing to comment.

There are two big questions: Was Amiri spirited away by Saudi-backed American covert agents? Or did the scientist seize the chance to defect to the West, offering sensitive information in exchange for asylum?

Add Timothy Hampton to the List of Dead Scientists in The New World Order. 

A British nuclear expert who fell from the 17th floor of a United Nations building did not commit suicide and may have been hurled to his death, says a doctor who carried out a second post-mortem examination.  Timothy Hampton, 47, a scientist involved in monitoring nuclear activity, was found dead last week at the bottom of a stairwell in Vienna….  Under a year ago, an American died at the IAEA in strikingly similar circumstances, his body being found at the bottom of a stairwell.

The probe began in February 2009,  just months before Swine Flu A/H1N1 came to the public eye and a Pandemic Status issued earlier this month.  Coincidence?

When the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center at Fort Detrick is fully operational in March[ sic 2009], about 150 scientists in the lab will be tasked with protecting the country from a bioterrorist attack through prevention or containment. After Fort Detrick anthrax researcher Bruce E. Ivins killed himself in July, the FBI announced that he alone was responsible for anthrax mailings that killed five people and sickened 17 others in 2001.

Dr. Vladimir Pasechnik, a former microbiologist for Biopreparat, the Soviet biological-weapons production facility was found dead.

Dr. Robert M. Schwartz was found murdered in Leesberg, Virginia. Dr. Schwartz was a well-known DNA sequencing researcher. He founded the Virginia Biotechnology Association where he worked on DNA sequencing.

The head of the microbiology sub-faculty of the Russian State Medical University, Victor Korshunov has been killed.

Dr. Tanya Holzmayer, a pioneering Russian born genomic scientist who had co-invented a tool that has helped find hundreds of molecular targets to combat cancer and HIV was found shot dead by a  former colleague .

David Wynn-Williams, an award-winning microbiologist died when he was struck by a vehicle while out jogging. In 2000 he was appointed leader of the Antarctic Astrobiology Project, which explores the effects of environmental stress at the limits of life on Earth

It is not only microbiologists who are dying in extraordinary circumstances.  On June 13, 2009 the carcass of Indian famous nuclear scientist Lokanathan Mahalingam found from Kali River. The scientist had been mysteriously disappeared from the Kaiga Atomic Power Station on June 8, 2009.
