In between raindrops. Scanning Twitter and the news via mobile we took a break for lunch on the porch. God gave us a little gift.

Out of the corner of my eyes, two feathers came down gently swaying in the light breeze. Fluffy. Maybe a from one of the 100 geese on the pond or the doves that roost on the roof.

The Earth’s people sure have a lot of anger these days over politics, religion, hatred and what have you. Took another bite of leftovers and had a ding to the head moment.

Maybe these little feathers are a sign from God? First was thinking about the movie w Kevin Spacey American Beauty That didn’t end so well.

Forrest Gump! That’s it.

Throughout Forrest Gump, we see a feather that floats on the wind. The feather symbolizes destiny and dumb blind luck. At one point, Forrest says, “I don’t know if we each have a destiny, or if we’re all just floatin’ around accidental-like on a breeze. But I, I think maybe it’s both.” The feather seems to point to an accidental kind of life, but it always shows up at just the right time, so maybe destiny brought it there. source

We got two feathers. Maybe life is like a box of chocolate and not only us, but humanity can get a second chance at whatever ills it has imposed on itself and each other. Maybe our destiny is just to keep on the farm, raise kids, smile more and complain less.

Maybe we’re just lucky the feathers from a birds ass didn’t land in our lunch.
