Think about all the money being poured into swine flu by pharmaceutical companies with their vaccines and treatments, let alone the funding from politicians and governments. 

Is it fear mongering, warnings or plain old profiteering from the  A/H1N1 Swine Flu virus and its mutations?

Insane or billiant, Austrian journalist Jane Burgermeister- blog her at http://birdflu666/wordpress.com  is sure that swine flu was created as a mean of mass population reduction and has filed a lawsuit against WHO, UN, FBI and a who’s who of government officials in an effort to substantiate her claim. 

She asserts that there is a covert bioweapons program involving Baxter pharmaceuticals and that these bird and avian flu viruses have been lab engineered so that a mass vaccination program would be implemented around the world.  She also claims that the vaccines are worse than the disease it is designed to eradicate believing that the vaccines will contain toxic biological agents that will be weaponized to cause death and injury to perhaps millions.  

She resides in Vienna where the case was filed, but we could all be dead by the time this case got to trial as slow and backlogged as the court systems are.

Baxter applied for a patent on H1N1 some two years prior to the pandemic.  If you don’t own it and you didn’t make it, why bother to patent it?  Who owns the common cold bug?

Baxter Pharmaceutical files for patent on H1N1 Vaccine two years before first Swine Flu, H1N1 case is reported.

Swine Flu H1N1 cases are supposedly increasing so fast that the WHO, World Health Organization is no longer keeping a record of the number of cases.

By the grace of God, better sanitation, better access to health care or whatever, this is not happening in 2009.  The cause of 1918’s influenza was not found until years later, when a British research team finally isolated and identified the viral culprit, recreated in in the lab and then posted the genetic markers on the internet for some smart terrorist to possible recreate.

As possible proof H1N1 was created in the lab, Baxter seems to have the upper hand in Pandemic game of life in death filing patents for vaccines prior to the known existence of mutated viruses as  Bloomberg is reporting, “Baxter has received pre-approval for its vaccine production method, and additional tests of the vaccine in humans will be necessary.”

virus propagation the infectious virus harvest is inactivated
prior to purification….”

BAXTER produced H1N1 cell cultures nearly two years before the pandemic!

Exxxxcccuuuuse me? Where is the hope for an aids vaccine or even an antibiotic against staph infections- due to an increase in MRSA; which because of drug resistance are much harder to treat?  These world wide death tolls and infection rates are staggering.

Still funding goes to vaccines for the unknown, the new H1N1 Swine Flu.  While H1N1 is a new variable what happens if it merges with the more deadly Avian Flu.  Can it merge with Aids? 

I am ready to order some mushroom soup, crab stuffed mushrooms, mushroom quiche, beef stroganoff with mushrooms; but I will pass on the mushroom sorbet.  Man’s got to draw the line somewhere.  Instead give me the double fried cheesecake, topped with strawberries and loads of whipped cream.  If the shrooms don’t boost my immune system at least when they roll my sorry ass into a casket- from whatever illness there is no cure from, I will have died one fat happy mother Fred.

People before profits?  Just add the automatic 20% tip charge please.

Swine Flu Vaccine, Obama Ready for Mass Inoculations

A WSJ report says,” Parental doubts about the safety of childhood vaccinations are leading to outbreaks of largely eradicated diseases like measles and whooping cough, doctors warned in a new report http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124165229009493675.html.  “A lot of folks are counterculture-type independent thinkers [who] do not have faith in all the modern medicine-type stuff .” Counterculture?  Perhaps faith in the modern medicine type stuff of vaccines has to do with making an informed decision and about vaccine potential relationships to autism, recalls, efficacy rates, vaccines potentially causing the illness they were designed to prevent, and having guidelines that recommend twenty seven shots. 

The American Pediatrics http://aap.org/advocacy/releases/may09vaccines.htm wants parents to have all the information they need to feel confident in their decision to immunize their children,…supporting  parents in making good health care decisions for their children, and vaccines are critical to our efforts to keep our children out of harm’s way.”  What kind of harm are we inflicting with 27 shots in two years? 

Polio has all been eliminated.  Small pox eradicated, but  I am hardly confident with the vaccine license process and the large number of new vaccines on the horizon. Science has used eggs for years to grow vaccines but what if the eggs are from Avian Flu or H1N1 viral carriers?  The CDC’s own documentation shows reassortment of viruses in ducks, chickens, and turkeys- all egg layers.   Whether it is reverse genetics or creating a hybrid strain through a re-assortment of genes; vaccine work by tricking the immune system into thinking it has been infected with a virus so that it creates antibodies against it.” says the BBC.  It all sounds well and good until you think of the Legionnaire’s Swine Flu outbreak where the vaccine caused more deaths than the virus itself. Remember the Rota Virus vaccine scare that caused painful intestinal twisting?

Health officials have asked manufacturers to ramp up production of the seasonal vaccine scheduled for roll out this fall to make way for the possible mass production of a swine flu vaccine.  I wonder if  the recent shortages in common vaccines are due to the fact that manufacturers were already gearing up to make the switch to producing a H1N1 vaccine that they knew in advance would be a threat. “If they are asked to stop doing that it means there will be shortages of the normal (flu) seasonal vaccine and vulnerable people could be susceptible if there was an epidemic of ordinary flu this winter” says http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8029917.stm 

The top 20 drug corporations and the industry’s two trade groups, PhRMA and the Biotechnology Industry Organization, which represents biomedicine companies must be frantic with their lobbying to encourage federal funding and authorization for the Swine Flu Shot.  I can see the education campaign now with commercials placed right in the middle of Anderson Cooper CNN’s report or an emergency broadcast alert in the middle of announcing the Idol winner.  How’s that for government propaganda?

Smallpox is the only human infectious disease to have been completely eradicated yet, “This press release at MSNBC discusses the intent of SIGA Technologies to respond to a recent U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) RFP for treatment courses for people infected with smallpox. This is the latest in a series of contracts related to preparations for outbreaks of diseases either due to biological attack or pandemics. In January the U.S. government teamed with Novartis to begin construction of a factory to produce flu vaccines in vast quantities. For almost twenty years the U.S. military has been buying and issuing anthrax vaccines and Emergent Biosolutions that produces that for them and other government agencies. The greater challenge will be tracking any adverse reactions as millions of Americans get multiple vaccinations in a matter of months this fall and winter. “There will be adverse effects to any vaccine. That’s just science,” said Michael Hattwick, who ran the CDC’s vaccine-tracking system during the last swine flu scare.  Clinically significant adverse events that follow immunization should be reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Although Bama has gotten a clean bill of health from his visit to Mexico April 16, hundreds more cases are being reported with lab results being forwarded to the CDC and WHO for typing.  The CDC analysis is showing the disease is a mixture of swine, human and avian (bird)viruses that has NEVER EVER been seen before.  Some of those who died have been confirmed to have the unique version of the A/H1N1 flu virus.

The jury is still out on what caused the mutation and its ability to spread by human to human contact.  Could the recent flu be a human error in a vaccine mixing process called reassortment?  Could it be a freak of nature?  Could it be some sort of terrorist attack?  A petting zoo? Bacon and eggs?

Whatever the cause, the world is hustling to reduce the spread of the flu and reduce panic at the same time.  Mexican government authorities were slow to connect the dots in this near pandemic, resulting in a delay in identifying what was making hundreds ill and causing nearly 100 deaths of otherwise healthy people. 

Countries around the world aren’t following in the lazy footsteps of Mexican Health Officials, nor are they waiting to see if the threat level officially labeled as a pandemic, or potential pandemic. Erring on the side of caution before it is too late, some countries have begun quarantines and confinements, but clearly not in American cities.

Along the US  border, screening for swine flu exposure began this morning  as the European Union advised against nonessential travel to Mexico and America.  From AP http://www.ap.org/ –  “The U.S. declared a national health emergency Sunday in the midst of confusion…the move allowed the government to ship roughly 12 million doses of flu-fighting medications from a federal stockpile to states in case they eventually need them.” 

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, called the emergency declaration “standard operating procedure,” instead urging “people to think of it as a ‘declaration of emergency preparedness.'”

President Obama is set to address the health crisis Monday in remarks to a meeting of the nation’s top scientists says US News http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/bulletin/bulletin_090427.htm. His administration sought on Sunday to strike a balance, informing Americans without panicking them.  The Swine Flu story has been around for days and Obama has finally decided to officially inform Americans.  Whew! 

Obama and America is still without a secretary of Health and Human Services or appointees in any of the department’s 19 key posts.  He has also not chosen a surgeon general or the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21719.html 

Guess we’ll have to rely on Homeland Security and the military, which makes me wonder what other privileges does declaring a national health emergency give your government?  The move will most definitely allow government agencies to free up federal, state and local agencies and their resources in preventing the spread of the virus.  What else?

If  Janet says, “be prepared, ” now would be a good time to cling to your guns and religion.   On the other hand, from the comments at http://sweetness-light.com/archive/napolitano-declares-emergency-preparedness it is noted that, “More people died in a Ted Kennedy Oldsmobile than have died from this swine/bird/human flu in Massachusetts.” 

Let’s hope that fact continues to be true not only in Massachusetts, but for all of America.

Eye-chiwawa, a  strain of flu never seen before has killed up to 60 people in Mexico and 8 in the United States.   Reuters reports that the CDC analysis showed the disease is a mixture of swine, human and avian viruses.  Mexico’s health minister, José Ángel Córdova, said the virus had mutated from pigs and had at some point been transmitted to humans.  At least, he’s pretty sure.

A Mixture?  H5N1 does not’t easily infect people, H3N2 viruses do. If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hazardous mixed virus able to transmit easily to and among people.   That mixing process, called reassortment, is one of two ways pandemic viruses are created and it looks like Mexico City is ground zero for it’s spread. 

In February 2009, American pharmaceutical company Baxter made a mistake of catastrophic proportions.  Baxter manufactured and sent The Austrian firm, Avir Green Hills bird flu vaccines that were found to contain a mix of H3N2 seasonal flu viruses and unlabeled H5N1-otherwise known as the human form of Avian Flu. 

Avian Flu is one of the most deadly biological weapons on earth with a 60% kill rate.  Avir Green Hills sent the vaccines on to labs in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Slovenia.  https://ahrcanum.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/vaccine-drug-deadly-costs-mistakes-threaten-pandemic/   The contamination was realized in the Czech Republic where they inoculated ferrets with the product and they died unexpectedly from exposure to human H3N2 flu viruses.  Imagine if they had inoculated infants or an entire population rather than ferrets?  Imagine if a terrorist got a hold of this? 

Bloomberg News is reporting The World Health Organization in Geneva will declare the outbreak “a public health event of international concern” noting that it may raise the level of pandemic alert, which could lead to travel restrictions aimed at curbing the disease’s spread. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601085&sid=atHtXtCigRII&refer=europe 

WHO has the world presently in phase 3: a new influenza virus subtype is causing disease in humans, but is not yet spreading efficiently and sustainable among humans.  “In my mind, what we’re talking about is moving from a pandemic alert 3 to a pandemic alert probably 5,” said Michael Gardam, director of infectious diseases prevention and control at the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion. Whatever threat level is assigned, and whomever raises the alert could result in border closures, travel and trade restrictions.  Mexico City is already in lockdown mode with schools, museums and libraries closed and soccer games being played to empty seats.  How far the lockdown goes is anyones guess.  I wonder what FEMA Zones may be impacted?  Craig Fugate, President Obama’s nominee to head FEMA, sailed through his confirmation hearing last week before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Welcome to your new job, dude.  

WHO estimates between 250,000 and 500,000 deaths annually from the seasonal flu strains H3N2, H1N1 and type B.  Experted from the NYTimes- Seasonal flus cause most of their deaths among infants, elderly people and the infirmed, but “pandemic flus — like the 1918 Spanish flu, and the 1957 and 1968 pandemics — often strike young, healthy people the hardest.  The leading theory on why so many young, healthy people die in pandemics is the “cytokine storm,” in which vigorous immune systems pour out antibodies to attack the new virus. That can inflame lung cells until they leak fluid, which can overwhelm the lungs. Despite the alarm in recent years over the H5N1 avian flu, which is still circulating in China, Indonesia, Egypt and elsewhere, some flu experts argued that it would never cause a pandemic, because no H5 strain ever had. There are no estimates for this most recent outbreak and there is no cure, only treatment and prevention. 

Currently there are four different antiviral drugs that are licensed for use in the US for the treatment of influenza: amantadine, rimantadine, oseltamivir and zanamivir. None of these antiviral medications exist in large quantities! http://www.globalsecurity.org/security/ops/hsc-scen-3_flu-pandemic-medicine.htm.

Correction- Damn it anyway, I hate it when I am wrong but glad that there weren’t 8 people who died in the US- rather 8 were identified as sick with the virus.
