How obscure, today is Friday the 13th, 2009.  A day of superstition that bad luck may befall you.  Wiki has all sorts of stuff on the day at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th

The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia, a word derived from the Greek words Paraskeví (Παρασκευή), meaning Friday, and dekatreís (δεκατρείς), meaning thirteen, attached to phobía (φοβία). writes http://mistermonopoly.blogspot.com/2009/11/friday-13th-links-paraskevidekatriaphob.html

Turning to politics, White House Counsel Greg Craig will resign later today and will be replaced by Robert Bauer, campaign counsel, ethics expert, husband of Anita Dunn reports George Stephanopoulis via Twitter. http://twitter.com/GStephanopoulos

Bauer is Chair of the Political Law Group of Perkins Coie LLP.  He served as the Obama campaign’s general counsel and became the President’s private lawyer after the election. He is married to Anita Dunn, Obama’s outgoing — and exiting — communications director. http://politics.theatlantic.com/2009/11/white_house_counsel_gregory_craig_1.php

Bauer book on campaign reform can be found via  http://www.amazon.com/More-Soft-Money-Hard-Law/dp/1879650096#noop writes at the blog http://www.moresoftmoneyhardlaw.com/ to give you an insight on his thoughts.

Our thought is that Bauer is tired of defending Obama from the birthers and tea baggers.  Perhaps President Obama doesn’t want to jinx himself by naming his new personal legal council on Friday the 13th.
