NASA calls it the science of astrobiology, but we all know it refers to searching for extraterrestrial life, aliens and ufo’s.

The scientific search our in the universe has been ongoing and there is no end in sight.  There are 2,000 plus Earth observatories, and hundreds of space missions and satellite launches;  yet no government has come forward to claim they have found life in the galaxy. If  and when the do, NASA has declared itself to be our planetary protectors.

Thousands of people have come forward claiming to have been abducted or reported having seen UFO’s. 

One of NASA’s own claims there is a cover-up.  Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, appeared on a British radio show to say that he was “privileged enough to be in on the fact that we’ve been visited on this planet and the U.F.O. phenomena is real.”  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/24/moonwalker-aliens-exist_n_114884.html

Mitchell and Gordon Cooper say that new investigations are warranted in UFO’s: 50 Years of Denial?, a documentary that aired on The Learning Channel.  It now available on a cd or on youtube.

The CIA closed the Colorado Project, the last comprehensive government UFO probe, in the late 1960s, after a government panel concluded “further extensive study of UFOs probably cannot be justified in the expectation that science will be advanced.”

The Colorado Project may be closed,  by the door to study astrobiology and extraterrestial life forms is wide open.

To discuss the current state of affairs The Astrobiology Science Conference (AbSciCon) 2010 is currently underway in League City, Texas. 

WASHINGTON — NASA will hold a news media teleconference at 1:30 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, April 28, to discuss the status of agency-sponsored astrobiology research, including the search for evidence of extraterrestrial life and the study of how life began on Earth. Topics also will include the quest for evidence of life on Mars, the habitability of other celestial bodies, and future technology research.

This week, NASA and scientists from around the world are gathering at a biennial meeting near Houston to celebrate 50 years of astrobiology research. Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, distribution and future of life in the universe. Any published articles or reports from the conference should make for an interesting read.   Not as entertaining as an X-files episode though.  No doubt, the leading astrobiologists are proving that there is in fact, justification in the expectation that science will be advanced.  It’s too bad they can’t, or won’t prove that UFO’s and aliens exist and that President Obama has cut NASA’s budget.
