You know what? Eff you CNN. In reporting the story of the death of a U.S. Special forces member, CNN has seen it to be fit to offer the story in Arabic.

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — An elite U.S. special forces team rescued an American doctor who had been abducted in Afghanistan, but lost one of their own members in the mission, officials said.

Arabic, flipping Arabic. CNN is based in the good old USA, owned by its parent company Time Warner and a division of Turner Broadcasting and where the vast majority of us speak and read English. You want it translated- go use google translate or one of the zillion other places on the web that will translate it for you. For CNN to add a link for a translation in Arabic is appalling. Why not a translation into German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, etc. What? Doesn’t the rest of freaking world want to read the story too? An American soldier is dead and his story is being shared specifically in Arabic. Despicable.
It’s the New World Order in America, it pisses us off and is evidence of the Islamization of America. You want to be a Muslim in America fine, that’s up to you but here we don’t press #1 for English.
Yet.
It’s not that we hate Muslims, oh no- we hate Sharia Law and people and politicians who dance around it’s invasion of America in the name of political correctness. Take a look at France, Egypt, and many other places where Catholic & Christian churches are attacked mainly by Muslim Extremists. Eff that.

Basically a group of stupid, unarmed Christians were in Afghanistan working at a rural medical clinic in eastern Kabul and got abducted by a group of armed men, also know as Taliban- followers of Sharia and CNN offers the story in Arabic. Because you know what? America is under Sharia attack and better wake the eff up when the U.S. main stream media reports in Arabic.
“He gave his life for his fellow Americans, and he and his teammates remind us once more of the selfless service that allows our nation to stay strong, safe and free,” President Barack Obama said of the slain U.S. service member, who was not immediately identified.
What does Morning Star have to say about it?
Despite the kidnappings of Joseph and its two other staffers, Morning Star reiterated its “commitment to continue its work” in Afghanistan.
You know what? Eff you too Morning Star. Go hire a military contractor to protect your ass. We hope the least Morning Star can do is to provide some financial help to the family of the dead Navy Seal. Although, personally we’d tell them to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.
We say a prayer for the dead soldier and America, a sigh of relief for the rescued man, and will avoid CNN.

First question: Why are the americans in Afghanistan? If they are being killed is because they are there to kill to.
The muslims or arabs are just defending themselves from the invader..you just have to watch those videos where soldiers who quit from the army denounce all the horrors they committed in the name of freedom and democracy…stop seeing a non existent enemy instead stop watching the lies that cnn and the rest of the main media pukes on all the people of USA and the world.
Aamirah – I think it is a culture of misunderstanding, and misguided Islamaphobia among westerners that foster such misconceptions.
If you don’t mind me asking what does Arabic have to do with Muslims and Shariah?! Most prophets were sent according to the Abrahamic faiths to Jerusalem and the Middle Eastern region therefore most prophets spoke Hebrew or Arabic.
What do you mean? I read this article earlier in the day off the main CNN page in English, and the link was to the English. They also ran a short time later the same story in the Arabic. Google translate, or Wiki translations don’t always convey the proper meaning. Having stories translated from English to Arabic by human translation reduces the chance that a translations meaning will change. And given all the mistrust these days, I’d say kudos to CNN for not only running this story in both languages, but I hope they continue to publish their stories in Arabic to foster better communication of news events in the world. They are of course also competing with Al Jazeera in that region.
It’s not that we object to CNN offering global news or translations. We object to a story specifically being translated only w an Arabic link. Why not just have a translate to another language button as Wiki does?
Our take on it is the promotion of Arabic language over others.

I forgot to point out that the same story also appeared in the full English. So they didn’t post such a story in just Arabic and not target the English audience with the same story.
You are of course aware that CNN has an entirely Arabic version of its pages for quite some time now. You have a choice of seeing an entirely Arabic set of pages. Proper translations of stories are hard to come by when dealing with English to Arabic because lack of context for some words changes the meaning, a lot more so than the typical romantic languages. good to see CNN properly produce articles minus a lot of the ambiguity.
CNN reports globally and part of its market is the middle east. Seems pretty much a good strategic move by CNN to do so, since they use their site for marketing and advertising, and they want a diverse audience.
They may be an American company but they have global appeal.
