While the man who came to be called “the most trusted man in America,” Walter Cronkite http://www.theodoresworld.net/archives/2009/07/communist_and_traitor_walter_c.htmldied at the age of 92, and Niel Armstrong took one big step for America, today is Ted Kennedy’s anniversary of the events of Chappaquiddick.
Marking 40 years since the death of Mary Jo Kopechne who died in the car Ted Kennedy was driving when he drove a car off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island off Martha’s Vineyard- the headline news will barely take note, instead focusing on CIA Investigations and Health Care Reform.
Massachusetts voters have continued to elect him overlooking his wretched decision to walk away from the car and continuing to elevate his status in the world of politics. Kennedy is the Senate’s second-longest serving member, won’t be up for election again until 2012. Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va is the longest serving. Unless by some miracle he will not live to see another election with his name on the ballot. He was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor May of 2008 and doctors estimated he had one year to live.
The Kennedy family has been struck by tragedy repeatedly. Oldest brother, Joseph, died in a World War II plane crash. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 in front of TV Cameras, and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968.
No doubt Ted Kennedy will be hailed a hero too when he finally passes on. The accolades had just begun when learning of the diagnosis. “He fights for what he thinks is right. And we want to make sure that he’s fighting this illness,” Obama said Tuesday. http://wbztv.com/politics/Kennedy.brain.tumor.2.728499.html Is sure as hell wasn’t right to leave his aid, Mary Jo Kopechne submerged in water for hours while he got his story straight. It sure as hell won’t be right when his status gets another bump toward being a hero after his death.
He belongs in the sea of shame and God will be his judge.

…I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
Im a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer
cause Im in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or Ill lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you

5:25 August fifth, 1962
Found her lying on her chest
Her face all turning blue
You think it was an overdose
But could it have been the pact
Could it have been the Kennedy’s
Was it LAPD

Iwanna be a kennedy
i wanna be a big heartbreaker
live fast and for real
and you can follow it in the papers
i wanna be a kennedy
i wanna shake hands with heroes
and kiss the girls of centerfolds on the toung
and die young

Oh, my mother is old and my father is dead
And my brother is dead and my brother is dead
And my brother is dead and kid has one leg
And my wife is a drunk and my car doesn’t float.
