Back in December of 2008, Joe Biden in an exclusive interview airing on “This Week” Sunday,  Biden told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he is going to chair a “middle-class task force” that will determine how the Obama administration’s policies are affecting America’s economic midsection.   http://abcnews.go.com/ThisWeek/story?id=6502378

” The things that affect people’s daily lives. I will be the guy honchoing that policy,” he said. Today, Jan 30,2009 President Obama made it all come true,  announcing the appointment that will keep a finger on the pulse of the middle class.  Which finger he is going to use remains up for debate. 

Thank you President Obama for not calling VP Joe Biden, the Middle Class Czar.

The party was given after the House passed the president’s ONE BILLION DOLLAR stimulus package with absolutely no Republican support.  I can’t wait to see what is served if the damned thing passes the Senate. 

Keeping in line with the Obama team’s pledge of full transparency, the task force will issue annual reports that will be available on line to the public.  I trust they will also issue a full report of what kind of food is being served, and how much it costs to feed the Middle Class Task Force Committee at every meeting.

Note that none of the people mentioned for the Middle Class Committee are middle class.  Reported by CNN, the team will include: the secretaries of labor, health and human services, and commerce, as well as the directors of the National Economic Council, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Domestic Policy Counsel, and the chair of the Council of Economic Advisor’s.  Surely all these people have their pulse on the middle class of the nation, don’t they? 

While the elite enjoy the delicate flavor of Wagyu, the rest of America checks its peanut butter for salmonella and Pop Tarts for mercury poisoning and HFCS; they are all talking about pork and pork spending.

Reading between the lines of my first and third finger, I’d say the middle class is getting the middle finger.
